Title: The Virgin Mary Prepares to Kick Ass

Excerpt:

So there she was. She knows she has to be tough and the people who worship her have to be tough. This prison is not for pussies, unless you enjoy being Satan’s bitch. But still, when she heard what had been done to Whitehead and Baretown she cried and her tears were blood and the blood could be seen in churches that had statues to the Virgin Mary. Chapter / Episode List of the Heathville Serial

Some people believe that the Gods don’t really care. But it is not about caring. It is about surviving free from the cage in this damn prison we have become trapped in and aspiring to get the hell out of this prison. The Gods know that our only hope is if we can become as strong as them and strength does not come from surrendering to weakness.

We will never become strong if we insist that the Gods do our pushups for us. We have got to do our own god damned pushups. We’ve got to run our own son of a bitching races. We have to crawl through our own sewage to get to the nectar.

But it is one thing to be trapped in this prison we call earth and it is another to become caged on the earth. If we spend eternity upon eternity caged then we can never escape this prison.

So when something is such that it is either a real cage or acts as a cage that stops us from being able to do pushups, that is advance, then the Gods will cry for us. They will lift that fat bitch off our backs so we can do at least one pushup and then two and then three, and by God they rejoice with us when they feel us getting stronger. They need us strong for it will take all of us together to free ourselves from this prison.

Make no mistake the Virgin Mary is a God. And she is not some weak little prissy thing crying, “Oh my, why will my hymen not break.” She rejoices that there is no cock that can break her hymen. Not even the big cock, the Godly cock, of Zeus could break that hymen. And even though the birth of Jesus broke that hymen, it quickly grew back. Make no mistake, the Virgin Mary is an awesome God. She is not some fucked up Hebrew concoction. She is real and magnificent. And what is more, she can beat your ass before you have a chance to order your next beer at the bar and you will not even know what hit you.

The statues themselves cried blood. And all across planet earth, both in Hades and the regular earth, news spread of the statues crying blood.

And some, with their upside down stupid and foolish hearts, screamed, “This is the work of Satan.” “Idol worship,” they screamed. “Satan,” they screamed.” But no. The Virgin Mary was crying for what was being done to earth. She was crying for the believer and disbeliever alike. She was crying because god damn, she did care.

Like I said, the Virgin Mary was never some pussy. She was tough. She was mighty. And this day she cloaked herself in armor. She took a sword that only a God could wield with such strength, and vigor and magic as she.

Hera came to join her and together they climbed into a spaceship. By God, they were going to Whitehead and Baretown to rescue the souls that had been caged there. She swore, “Satan will regret even the thought that he might allow Belial to do to earth what he did to Pluto Viso.”

Hera screamed in laughter, “We are going to kick some ass, ‘baaabeeee.'”

Hearthville Serial: Book 8 Chapter 7

Excerpt:

Jossette sat up and pulled a ceramic planter with a flower in it from her bed stand. She threw it at Victor/George. He dodged it and it crashed and broke on the wall behind him. Jossette screamed, “Get the hell out of here. With any luck the plane you take will crash and I will never have to see you again.”

“Bitch, I will see you when I get back. You can count on that.”

“Yeah you do that. Next time you see me in this bed I might have a dude on each side of me. How will you like that?”

“Yeah, well, you can buck break them. You are not buck breaking me.”

“Buck break?”

“Force them to have gay sex.”

Jossette screamed in tears, “Why do I love a man that I hate so God damned much?”

Victor/George finished dressing while Jossette watched in seething anger. As Victor/George opened the door to her bedroom to leave he blew a kiss to Jossette. He thought she might fake catch it and hold it to her heart like a loving girlfriend. Instead Jossette threw a pillow him.

Chapter / Episode List of the Heathville Serial

There is a wickedness in the air and a desperation in the hearts of men. The Hades part of Planet Earth has fallen to Satan and Belial, as the God Amelia sleeps and the God Iapetus is caged and the God Caelous is caged. The God Jesus also known as Hercules sits beyond the gates of heaven with the God Zeus and the God Virgin Mary beneath an apple tree and playing the card game Rummy.

There is a silence but in this silence between them there are many thoughts. Finally VM, also known as the Virgin Mary, speaks. “We’ve got to do something. We can not allow all the souls on planet Hades Earth to be caged.”

Zeus said, “Our earth is not in danger. And even on Hades Earth most people are living normal lives now. There is no sign that Satan plans to cage everyone in Hades.”

JH, also know as Jesus/Hercules, spoke. “Satan likes to play games. He likes to be entertained. He hasn’t given Belial total control of Hades Earth as happened on Pluto Viso. So far Satan has not even allowed Belial to take back control of Pluto Viso.”

VM questioned Zeus, “What about your spawn Hades? It is his world. It does not belong to Satan. It does not belong to Belial.”

Zeus rolled his eyes. “What about him? I don’t control him and he does not control me. These days we do not even talk.”

JH said, “Father, obviously, I am not going to question you on Hades. I only ask if you will be angry if I talk to Hades and question him on how he might regain control of his realm or if I can help.”

Zeus smiled. “Angry. No. I welcome that you might talk to him. I would not object to helping him. But do not be shocked if he rejects your offer to help him.”

VM nodded. “Hera tells me that Hades is building a new realm on Pluto Viso. She says he is planning to migrate as many souls as he can there. She doubts his plan will work. She is afraid for him and for us.”

Zeus said, “I can’t believe that you would talk to Hera. She is such a vile and dangerous creature.”

“You once loved her and she loved you. And the truth is I enjoy talking to her.”

Zeus frowned. “You are too good. You are too kind. Hera can not be trusted.”

“Maybe. But you should trust me and know that I am just as strong as Hera. You should trust my advice more than you do.”

“We are in a mess. But it is mess we can handle so long as we don’t make it a bigger mess that we can’t handle. I am not saying that you and Hercules should not help Hades rescue his earth realm from Satan and Belial. I am asking that you two keep me informed. Also. Please be careful.”

“Father, of course we will keep you informed. And trust that I know how evil Hera can be. I am not exactly her favorite person and you know that she is not my favorite person.”

VM said, “I am sorry for how you have been tortured, first as Hecules and then as Jesus. I know how Hera wronged you and I am not forgiving of that.”

Zeus said, “Well. I am sorry also but the truth is Jesus, you brought part of it on yourself by trying to show the humans out of Hades and back to the real Earth and where they might stand a chance at heaven. Son, you have to realize that in end they must find their way on their own to be worthy of the real earth and most of them will never be worthy. They have lost their way and there is no way even the best compass, the best shinning man of near perfection, can show the lost souls home.”

JH said, “Maybe we can’t show them how to be worthy of the real earth but we can’t let them be caged. We have got to stop what Satan and Belial are doing.”

Zeus said, “We have to be careful. We don’t want to risk the real earth or heaven being put in harms way by the evil ones. Hades is not just a place for souls who are too flawed for the real earth. It is a buffer to protect the real earth from the flawed and the evil. We don’t want earth to become another Pluto Viso.”

Holding his phone, Victor stood naked at the foot of Jossette’s bed. He stared at the beautiful, naked, Jossette, horny, laying not so restful in her pink, frilly, canopy bed waiting for Victor to throw his phone down and join her. She longed for him to take her in his arms and to hold her and to kiss her and then to roughly take her the way she wanted to be taken. She stared at his huge cock and she wanted the feel of that cock inside her.

“Come to me Victor.”

“That was my brother Stewart. He needs me.”

There was a sound of anger in Jossette’s voice. “I need you.”

Victor began getting dressed. “I have got to go to Hotville. Shane Felter has been murdered.”

“Surely an hour of sex will not delay your trip enough to make much of difference to Stewart or a dead man.”

“I have got to arrange a plane and hopefully I can can’t catch Roger before he has left where he can fly in to Hotville with me.”

“You fucking asshole. Here I am laying in this bed, wanting you, needing you, and you are just going to leave me here.”

“Well, you can come with me to Hotville.”

“Come with you? Can we have sex on the plane?”

“No.”

Jossette sits up and pulls a ceramic planter with a flower in it from her bed stand. She throws it at Victor/George. He dodges it and it crashes and breaks on the wall behind him. Jossette screams, “Get the hell out of here.

Jossette screamed, “Get the hell out of here and don’t ever come back.”

Victor/George left. He thought to himself, “She is going to be a wild one in bed. It is going to be fun.” Then he shrugged. “But today was not to be the day. Waiting will make it more fun.”

JH (Jesus / Hercules) sat working on his communication console that he would need to connect to Pluto Viso in hopes that he might talk to Hades. As JH was working, VM (Virgin Mary) walked in with Hera.

Hera said, “Hades is not going to talk with you. He has plans for Pluto Viso and those plans do not include you and Zeus.”

“I need to try.”

“He has left Lucifer in charge of his Earth Hades operations. Lucifer is the one you need to plan with to try to get Belial out of Earth’s Hades.”

VM said, “Right now, our primary goals must be to rescue souls from being caged. We need Victor and Caelous or a woke Amelia to get Belial out of Earth’s Hades. Without Victor and Caelous, we don’t have the power.”

JH was barely listening when VM spoke. But then his ears perked to hear what Hera was saying.

Hera nodded. “VM, I don’t argue against that. I wish I could. I wish I could say I have the power but I don’t. Still, whatever your plans, you need to consult with Lucifer for it is his and his father’ s realm.”

JH asked, “Where can I find Lucifer?”

Hera said, “If you are agreed, I will invite him to Olympus. I would like for Zeus to be at the meeting.”

JH said, “I will ask Zeus, but I don’t know.”

Hera said, “Now I want to ask you something else. VM says we need the help of Victor, Caelous, and Iapetus. And that is true. I agree. But exactly what are you going to do about Victor, Caelous, and Iapetus being caged? How do you plan to rescue them and bring them to Olympus.”

JH screamed, “Bring them to Olympus! Are you insane? We can’t. Victor and Caelous are too unstable. I agree that we need to try to free them, although I warn that Zeus might disagree, but there is no way we are bringing them to Olympus. Zeus would never agree to that and neither will I.”

“In past lives Victor has been your father, your brother, and once even your lover. And you would deny him his home on Olympus.”

“Zeus once killed Uranus. Have your forgotten? And Uranus became trapped in Iapetus as a result. So he is trapped in a cage now. Maybe that is what Zeus wants. I know we need the help of Victor and Caelous but it is not like I am thrilled about it. And when I approach Zeus about it, he is going to be even less thrilled.”

Hera said, “So your petty differences with Victor and Caelous are more important than the mortals.”

“I told you that I agree they need to be freed. We need their help.”

“Yeah, your message is kind of mixed. You want them freed but you don’t want them freed. You know, mostly in these stories that mortals tell I am cast as the bad guy. But I tell you what. You and Zeus can be total assholes. ‘Oh we love the mortals. We care what happens to them.’ You don’t really give a flying fuck about them. They are all your prisoners and you love playing games with them, but you don’t really love them. Still, you demand that they love you.”

“Bitch, I died on the cross for them.”

“Exactly how did that work? Does that even make any fucking sense? 7 million souls are in Hades right now and in danger of being caged by Belial and Satan. That was really some rescue plan you came up with baby. ‘Worship me as a martyr and all will be well with the world.’ I hate to break the news to you but all is not well with the world. This damn machine, this damn prison, is a mess.”

“Hera, I hate you more than words can describe.”

“Such a loving God, aren’t you. Wow. I may have to build a temple to you, myself.”

The Virgin Mary stared at Jesus and Hera. She wasn’t sure what to say. But she knew what to feel. She felt despair. She turned and vanished into the air, leaving Hera and Jesus standing together, alone.

Hera said, “Jesus. If you will rescue Victor and Caelous and Iapetus and give them the protection of Olympus, I will let you visit your children on my planet Venus. And I will allow you to build at least three temples there to either Jesus or Hercules as your choice and your desire.”

“Why do you care about Victor and Caelous?”

“Maybe it is just that I am horny and I want Victor’s big cock.”

“And what about Zeus’s big cock. He isn’t caged.”

“Isn’t he? Love is a type of cage. And I can think of worse cages than being in love with Mary. I suspect that cage brings a great deal more pleasure to Zeus than being in love with me.”

“Well, you know, George has kept Victor’s body alive. You could have sex with George. He has the same cock.”

“It is a thought. But I want Victor freed.”

“I will see what I can do.”

Victor/George arrived at the airport. He pulled into the parking lot with his windows rolled down. He saw Roger Ogleby at Roger’s car with Roger’s half sister Tabitha Angster. They were standing next to the red corvette and smoking cigarettes.

Roger called out to Victor. “Your call shocked me. I was with Tabitha at Uncle Arthur’s.”

“You don’t mind me going to Hotville with you, do you?”

Victor/George cleared his throat. He had not expected Tabitha to be there. He had not seen her since Victor had been caged and Belial and Satan had changed memories and even time itself. He wasn’t sure how she felt about him now.

Victor/George parked next to where Roger and Tabitha were standing. Tabitha favored her half sister Jossette quite a lot. Victor/George crawled out of his car. He felt an unusual nervousness. “Of course I don’t mind you coming with us.” Then George shook his head and rolled his eyes. He guessed what he was about to say was not proper but he was going to say it anyway. “Of course I must tell you that I left Jossette naked in bed and begging me for sex.”

Tabitha laughed. “Funny. Roger told me that Jossette hasn’t been quite herself. I explained to him some things. That you are George. Jossette is a figament. Victor has been caged.”

“It is confusing to me. This witch stuff confuses me. I don’t understand.”

Tabitha said, “They don’t want you to understand. Hell. Any second your memory may be erased from what I told you.” Tabitha touched George. “Uncle Arthur has told me stuff. And he has been helping me to practice my witchcraft. I wanted to come because you might need me, or more to the point, you might need my witchcraft.”

Victor/George said, “For what it is worth, Tabitha, I, George do still have strong feelings for you. I don’t know what game I am playing with the figment, Jossette.”

“Game. We all play games. It is okay.”

Roger laughed. “Changing the subject to back to our Hotville trip. Is Stewart okay?”

“I am not sure. He saw Shanes ghost and some creature coming out of the ocean to try to cage Shane. It was upsetting to him.”

Roger said, “Do you think Stewart is in danger?”

“I don’t know. I just know that I want to make sure that he isn’t in danger.”

Roger nodded. “Absolutely.”

Tabitha said, “I am not sure what we are dealing with. We have got to make sure that none of us are in danger. Why would some creature come out of the ocean to try to cage the ghost of someone? That is weird. Mom and Uncle Arthur both said that is very unusual.”

“You talked to Arthur and your mom.”

“On the phone. Different times. They weren’t together if that is what I said sounded like.”

Roger said, “Uncle Arthur’s pilot is motioning for us. We need to get on the plane.”

Hearthville Serial: Book 8 Chapter 6

Excerpt:

Shane saw a strange creature come out of the ocean. The creature was holding a birdcage. Somehow Stewart also saw the creature and the birdcage. And suddenly he could see Shane. Stewart wasn’t sure where the thought or the realization came from but he knew he had to warn Shane.

Stewart screamed, “Run Shane. Do not let the creature catch you. Run. Run now. The creature is going to try to catch and cage you. Run. God damn it. Run.”

Shane ran and took flight though he had no idea how he was flying. For now, Shane made his escape and the creature began walking back toward and into the ocean.

Stewart’s focus turned from the creature as it vanished into the ocean. And then he saw everyone was looking at him.

Sheriff Connie McIron stared at Stewart. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

Reminder:  All the characters with any level of sexual heat are over the age of 18.

Notes:
An alter is a distinct soul and personality that shares a body with someone.  In this case Victor’s alter George is in control of the body while Victor’s soul has been caged in the Outlands, a metaphysical place/world.  Caelous who also shared the body has also been caged in the Outlands.

A figment is a body that has no soul but is operated from computer code created by previous souls that have been in the body at some point or another during moments when the computer code was created. In the case of Jossette, something was done to Jossette’s soul when Nette took control of the body.  Nette was in control of the body until Victor’s father Elliot caged Nette’s soul.  With both Jossette’s soul and Nette’s soul gone from the body, the body operates as AI / Computer Code.

A type of time is computer code.  It allows a person to live the same life or some version of it more than once.  It allows a person to be born in the past, be born in the future, or repeat the same life.  When no soul has been reborn to a body, that body is a figment that operates mostly from previous computer code that souls have created when the body had a soul or operates from new computer code created by the interaction of other people with the figment.  Figments may behave oddly and not always make sense if other souls are changing the computer code to a greater degree than the figment/AI can calculate a proper response based on the predictive nature of past souls in the body.

Chapter / Episode List of the Heathville Serial

Victor and Jossette stood there together as Jossette’s brother, Roger went up the stairs to pack for his trip to Hotville. Of course Victor was not really Victor but was his alter George and Jossette was not really Jossette but was a figment. Nette who had been pretending to be Jossette had been caged by Elliot, Victor’s father. And the soul of Jossette was missing, presumed by Elliot and maybe others to have been caged by Nette or her husband Artorious.

This moment between George and Jossette was not some fulfillment of that great love for Jossette that impassioned Victor with great imagination. But George and the figment of Jossette were both horny and there was sexual desire, sexual tension, taunting the two of them. George thought he did not want to go too far with Jossette, even her figment, for that would feel like a betrayal of Victor. George guessed that Jossette didn’t know that she was a figment without a soul. She certainly did not know that he was an alter of Victor. To pursue sex with her would be wrong and George knew that such a sexual entanglement had once gotten the real Victor killed. But of course that was a conspiracy against Victor and Jossette by Nette and Artorious. Nette was caged and Artorious was, well, George wasn’t sure but he guessed that Artorious was also caged in the Outlands.

George and Jossette looked into one another’s eyes. He wanted to kiss her. She wanted to kiss him. Their lips quivered with thoughts of doing something about the heat that was rising between the two. But instead of moving closing together, they stepped farther apart, backing away from one another.

George said, “I guess I should be going.”

“My Aunt Rachel and that awful Rita did such an awful thing to you. I don’t blame you for wanting to go. To leave. I can’t believe we were ever friends with Rita.”

“They were both under supernatural influences.”

“You can’t believe that.”

“Your Aunt Rachel loves you very much.”

“You can’t defend her. She and Rita almost killed you. You were beaten and locked in the boot of the car, left to die. You should hate her and Rita.”

“I don’t want to hate anyone. I just want to feel whole again.”

“What does that mean?”

George knew he shouldn’t try to explain, but still he had words and they were spoken. “Don’t you ever feel like there is a part of you missing. Like you’ve lost something. Maybe something spiritual.”

“No. But I do feel guilt about what happened to you.”

“Do you? Do you really? Why should you? You did nothing but want to love me.”

“I still want to love you. And more. I am feeling so naughty right now. I would like for the two of us to go up to my bedroom, get naked. I want to see that big cock of yours.”

“Jossette.” George sounded almost bashful. But he felt something different. “Where is your mom?”

“She is visiting Aunt Rachel in the mental institution. I keep telling mom that Aunt Rachel is faking it. I know she is faking it.”

“There are supernatural things happening. This world is not what you think. You must not hate your aunt. You should love her. You should have went with your mom to visit her.”

“Aunt Rachel still thinks you were trying to seduce both her son Mark and me. She thinks you are predator. She wanted you dead.”

“Maybe I should go visit her.”

“Are you insane?”

“Maybe. Maybe we are all insane living in an insane world.”

“I want to have mad, insane, sex with you. I don’t want to be a virgin any more.”

“Do you really love me or do you just want to use me?”

Jossette turned to look away. She turned her back to George, Victor’s alter. “Use you? For sex? I think rather that should be a woman’s accusation though it is not one that I will make”

“I helped to make you and your mother very wealthy.”

“What? Next, you are going to accuse me of plotting with Aunt Rachel to kill you so that mom and I would have all the wealth from our inventions.”

“No. I don’t even know what I am saying.” But now George wondered. Jossette was a figment. How much was she programmed by the real Jossette and how much was she programmed by Nette. George wondered. How much did she know about what the real Jossette had planned or what the real Nette had planned. Victor had loved Jossette in more than one life. And theirs had been a great passion. For that passion Victor would always look beyond the faults of Jossette. He would never allow himself to hear or think she had done wrong. He was blind to her ways. George wondered if Jossette’s figment was accidentally revealing something.

Jossette said, “I think you should go. I don’t want to ever see you again. I want your business relationship with mom ended.”

Before the inventions, Jossette, Roger, and their parents had lived poor. They had not been rich like Arthur and Rachel Ramsey. Jossette had never made a secret that she wanted to live like a rich person. On the other hand, even though Victor had bought Hazel Manor, he was perfectly happy living modestly in a middle class home with his parents. He had mostly bought Hazel Manor with Jossette in mind. He fancied it would be a surprise gift to her after they got married.

George said, “If you try to end the business relationship I will not leave you with anything. I will get everything. Understand. You will be poor again.”

Roger walked in on them just when Jossette said, “By God I will never be poor again. I hate you. I’ve always hated you. I wish Rita and Aunt Rachel had killed you. And if the only way I can end the business relationship is to kill you, I will do it.”

Roger screamed, “I don’t know who the hell you are but you are not Jossette. Jossette loves Victor. She has always loved Victor.”

Jossette laughed. “Yeah, I am going to kick you out of the business also. The last thing I need is a freeloading, queer, brother influencing mother and cramping my style.”

George scratched his head. Was the figment saying the words of the real Jossette or the thoughts of Nette? Jossette had not been the perfect woman in Victor’s past lives Victor had imagined, but George realized Roger might be right. This figment was not taking on the personality of the real Jossette. It was taking on the personality of Nette. And George considered that if he fucked this figment it wouldn’t be like a real betrayal of Victor. Victor did not love Nette. George didn’t mind that this woman, this figment, was a hateful bitch. He wanted to stick his dick in her and have the roughest sex he might imagine.

George said, “Nette, you are over playing your hand.”

Roger asked, “What did you call her? Nette?”

Jossette said, “What? You misunderstood. Didn’t he Victor?”

“Jossette. As long as you don’t understand what I said, we love each other. Right? And you love your brother Roger. Right?”

“Of course I do. Roger, I am so sorry.”

Roger stared at Victor. Then he stared at Jossette. “Sure. But look sis. Don’t let our new wealth turn you into a monster. And sure as hell, don’t forget that without Victor we would still be poor. Don’t ever think about betraying him, even when you are fighting. Dont!”

“I won’t forget that we owe everything to Victor. How can I forget? And Victor, you know I will always love you. You do know that, don’t you?”

“Sure. I told you that there is supernatural stuff happening.”

“You think something supernatural came over me?”

George thought to himself, “Yeah, figment Nette, you and I are going to fuck so hard that you will never forget that you have been fucked.” Then George said, “That is the only explanation. There is a ghost, Nette, trying to take control of you.” Of course George knew that his father Elliot had caged Nette.

“Nette. Wasn’t that the name of Uncle Arthur’s grandmother who helped raise him?” Roger asked.

Jossette said, “Yes. But to think a ghost is trying to take possession of me. That is crazy talk.”

Roger said, “Sis, you haven’t been being yourself. Maybe it is not crazy talk.”

“I don’t believe in ghost. I believe that when we die, that is it. We are gone. I don’t believe we have a soul.”

George considered that with Jossette caged and Nette caged, all that was left of the Jossette he was looking at was the figment. At this moment, she didn’t have a soul but she did have Jossette’s computer code and Nette’s computer code and that code was as eternal as the soul itself. And perhaps his pursuit of this figment was as dangerous as if he were trying to seduce Nette, herself.

George thought, “I am about to play a very nasty, perilous game. It will be fun.”

Roger said, “Should I call off my trip to Hotville? Should I stay here.”

Jossette laughed. “What? To protect me from some imaginary ghost. No. You go on to Hotville and try to seduce Stewart.”

“That is not why I am going to Hotville.”

George said, “Well. You go on and have fun. Hey, you might be surprised. My brother might try to seduce you.”

Roger smiled as he considered what “Victor” had said. Then Roger laughed. “No. Just friends.”

***

There was that dreaded knock on the door. Claud Felter and Sarah Felter jumped with fear when they heard the banging. Claud looked through the peep hole in the door to see Sheriff Connie McIron standing at the door. He didn’t know her but he could see her uniform and her badge. He opened the door.

“Officer. Sheriff.”

“This is the most awful part of my job.”

“My wife left our son playing poker at the Favors Poker Room. She was losing and he was winning. When we woke this morning, he wasn’t in his bed.”

Sarah Felter said, “Please tell me that our son, Shane, is okay.”

Sheriff Connie stares at Sarah. “We are not sure if the person in question is your son or not.”

Claud shakes his head. “Person in question? What does that mean. Has he been arrested?”

“A young woman by the name of Mary Dugan found a body of a young man on the beach. He had been shot five times. We need you to look at the body before it is moved.”

Sarah trembled. “It can’t be Shane. It can’t be our son. We aren’t the kind of people who end up murdered. We are good people. Yeah, we play poker. But Favors is a reputable place. We are good people.”

“I am sure you are. I play poker. I am not very good at it. So you say your son was winning. How much had he won when you left?”

“He had won $25,000. And I had lost $5,000 which is my limit.”

“The young man did have some money on him but not nearly that much. Was he in a car or on foot when you two went to Favors.”

“We both walked to Flavors.”

“I had the car and was running errands when they went to Flavors. I had to have a tire repaired and I bought some groceries. Snacks and such. Neither of them should have been walking around with that kind of money.” Claud fights back the urge to cry. “I know.” Claud cleared his throat. “Is it possible the young man isn’t our son?”

“There is always a chance but you should be prepared.”

“Oh God. I shouldn’t have left him there alone. Why did I leave him there?”

“He is young but he is an adult.”

“Grown but he was still my baby. He will always be my baby.”

“Are you ready to walk down to the beach?”

“The last time we walked down to the beach, it was to play in the ocean. He was cracking jokes. We were having fun. This isn’t fun. This isn’t a vacation story I want to tell my friends about. Oh God.”

“I know. I am so sorry you are being put through this.”

“Honey, we need to walk down to the beach with this nice lady. We need to see if the young man is our son.”

“Okay.” Sarah took several deep breaths. “Let us go view the body.” Sarah struggled to not cry. “The body.”

***

Stewart Duddley had turned his attention from Mary Dugan to Deputy Sally Francis. Who was more interesting? Who was more sexy? Mary Dugan in her bikini or Deputy Sally Francis in her uniform.

Stewart smiled as Deputy Sally Francis walked up to where he and Mary Dugan were standing. “That man standing there told me that he saw you at the Flavors Poker Room at the same time that the victim was there.”

Mary Dugan said, “Yeah I was playing poker. I can’t remember whether I saw the victim there or not.”

“The man said he saw you speaking to the victim.”

“Maybe. I don’t know. I don’t remember every dork who speaks to me.”

Deputy Sally Francis asked, “Are you two friends? I mean you and Stewart Duddley.”

Stewart said, “No. We just met. I just arrived here and I am waiting for them to get my room ready. I saw the activity on the beach and became curious to what is going on.”

“A young man has been murdered.”

“She, by the way I don’t even know your name, told me. It is awful. Have you identified him and notified his family yet?”

“Sheriff Connie McIron has gone to who we believe are his parents though we aren’t sure yet. We are not sure who he is yet? Stewart, do you want to see the body?”

Because Stewart was a High School Football star, it was not unusual for people to know him, but for him to not know them. Still, it was awkward. And he kept thinking, “I should know this lady, this deputy?”

Deputy Sally Francis repeated, “Do you want to see the body?”

“Want? I guess it is possible the deceased is someone I know. So I can view the victim if that is what you want.”

Deputy Sally Francis smiled. “Come with me.”

Stewart walked with Deputy Sally Francis. Mary Dugan remained where she had been standing.

Stewart asked, “Is that girl a suspect?”

“I don’t know. What do you think?”

Stewart smiled. “This is awkward. I should know you. Shouldn’t I?”

“Not really. I have been in your house. Your mom and I go to the shooting range together sometimes, but it is not like you and I have ever sat down together and discussed our favorite sexual position.”

Stewart blushes a bright red and nervously laughs. “I do now remember you. It is just you look different in your uniform. I like your uniform.”

“Thanks. But back to the question. Do you think Mary Dugan should be on our suspect list?”

“Yeah, she came across as lying when you told her about her being seen with the victim at the Flavors Poker Room. But of course, even if she is lying about that, that does not mean she is guilty of killing him.”

“Your mom told me that you were some law enforcement related classes at the collge. She does not really like that idea but I can see why you would have that interest.”

They came to the body which had been put on a stretcher. Stewart looked at him and did recognize him. That is Shane Felter. He is, was, in a few of my classes at the Hearthville College. I didn’t really know him. My brother thinks I am a snob and I guess I can be. Of course right now I have nothing to be a snob about. I thought Football would be my life.”

“You will find a new calling.”

“Calling. Preacher Pat Piaolo says the same thing. But I don’t know, I had such plans. I guess Shane did also, and now look at him. What would you say his new calling is?”

“Maybe an angel.”

Though invisible to everyone Shane stood there. Watching. Listening. Talking to himself. “I am no angel. If I were, maybe I would not be dead now. Why is my memory so fucking hazy?”

Deputy Sally Francis saw Sheriff Connie McIron walking with the parents of Shane Felter. “Here she comes with his parents. This is going to be awful.”

Sarah Felter was walking at first. But then she started running when she saw the stretcher. She reached the body. She saw her son. Dead. And she fainted. Stewart caught her and eased her down to the sandy beach.

Claud ran to his wife. He saw his dead son. He cried out in pain. “This can not be happening. This can not real. I am having a nightmare.”

Unconscious, or maybe beyond unconscious Sarah Felter saw her son standing over his own body there on the stretcher. And Shane saw his mom come out of her body.

Sarah screamed, though no one but her son could hear her. “Please don’t be dead.”

“I am sorry mom. I don’t know how this happened. I do not know who shot me. I don’t want to be dead.”

“Please come to me. Let me hold you in my arms one last time.”

Shane moved toward his mom. He reached out for her and she reached out for him. And then there was the smell of smelling sauce. With the awful smell in her nose Sarah opened her eyes and with a start, sat up. She saw Steve Jergins yank the vile of smelling sauce away from her nose.

Steve Jergins whispered, “I am sorry.”

“I saw the ghost of my son. He was standing over his body. He said he does not know who killed him. And before I could give him that one last hug, you pulled me back to my body.”

Steve repeated, “I am sorry. May I help you stand up.”

Stewart reached down to help Steve bring Sarah to her feet. Bracing herself on the stretcher she looked at her dead son.

Claud moved to put his arm around his wife and shared her look at their son. “He was more than our son. He was our best friend.”

The ghost of Shane smiled. He touched his father on his shoulder. “The two of you were my best friends.”

Stewart didn’t know what to say. He had to think fast. He remembered his mom telling him that one of her friends had narcolepsy. “I am sorry. I sometimes experience narcolepsy. It is more likely when I am upset and under stress.”

Deputy Sally Francis said, “I also have narcolepsy.”

Sarah whispered to Stewart. “You saw him too.”

Stewart nodded but doesn’t say anything. Sheriff Connie McIron heard the question and noticed the slight nod. She decided it is best for her to ignore what has been said for now. She watched as Stewart, looking dazed, walked away.

Deputy Sally Francis said, “I better go with him. He might be sleep walking. That sometimes happens.”

Stewart walked to parking lot of the Sevy Motel. He sat down at a table that is near a hotdog stand in the parking lot. He pulled out his phone. He called his brother Victor. “Victor, I need you to come to Hotville. I am scared. Shane Felter that is in a few of my classes has been murdered and I saw his ghost. I saw a creature come out the ocean and somehow I knew the creature planned to cage Shane.”

Stewart looked around to see Deputy Sally Francis standing behind him. He knew she had heard what he had told Victor. She sat down at the table with Stewart. “I didn’t mean to interrupt. Continue talking.”

Stewart said, “Victor, can you come.”

Victor told him that he was in Atlanta and would ask a friend to fly him to Hotville.

Stewart said, “Good. I need my brother. I don’t understand this kind of stuff.” Stewart hung up.

Deputy Sally Francis said, “So Victor is coming.”

Stewart said, “Yeah. Seeing Shane’s ghost and that creature coming for him scared the hell out of me.”

“I understand.”

“Do you think I am crazy?”

“I don’t know what to I think. Shock and grief does strange things to a person but maybe you and his mother did see Shane’s ghost. I don’t know. Did you see Shane get away from the creature?”

“Yes. But I fear the creature is not finished yet.”

“Do you think the creature has something to do with Shane being shot?”

“I don’t see how, but I don’t understand supernatural type stuff.”

“Do you think you might have been the one to kill Shane?”

“No. Hell no. I just arrived in Hotville. I didn’t know he was here, and the truth is, I don’t really know him. We had classes together but that is it. Well. Not it. I hate that he was murdered. And I feel awful for his parents.”

“Sure.”

“I do.”

“I am not doubting you.”

“Then why do I feel like you want to put handcuffs on me.”

“Maybe I do, but in a kinky sort of way.”

EXT. SKY, AROUND LEROY BARE'S SPACESHIP - NIGHT

Bright lights flashing, colorful lights, SOUNDS OF
EXPLOSIONS, spaceships attempting to surround Leroy Bare's
spaceship.  He is zapping them with bombs exploding.  His
space flies forward.  Enemy Spaceships race to catch up.

INT. LEROY BARE'S SPACESHIP - NIGHT

LEROY BARE looks at his monitor to view primitive map.
BACHUS WILCOX looks at map.  PROFESSOR WILCOX and MINI
WILCOX are looking out the window.

                      BACHUS WILCOX
That looks like a map that I drew
when I was writing something in my
          journal.

                      MINI WILCOX
                (turns from window, and
                 looks at monitor, map)
          It does.

                      BACHUS WILCOX
          How would you know?

                      MINI WILCOX
          I wouldn't.  I never look at your
          diary.

                      BACHUS WILCOX
          Journal.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
                (joins his wife to look
                 at monitor)
Whatever.  Leroy, why would his map
          be on your monitor?

                      LEROY BARE
          I don't know.

EXT. SKY, SUN IS RISING, A FEW CLOUDS - MORNING

Spaceships are flying.  The ocean is seen beneath the sky.

EXT. HOTVILLE BEACH - MORNING

No living person is seen on the beach. A lawn chair blows
across the beach. Camera follows chair until it reaches a
dead body.  Camera focuses on the body of a young man.
Focus on bullet holes.  Blood.  The camera moves to the
young man's face.  His dead eyes are wide open.  His mouth
is wide open.  The camera moves down and then shows his
outstretched arm and then his hand and then the cane that he
is clutching.

INT. ROOM AT SEVY MOTEL - MORNING

CLAUD FELTER wakes up next to his wife SARAH FELTER.  Sarah
is sleeping, snoring. Claud looks at his wife.  He looks
over at the second bed in the motel room that is still made
up.

                      CLAUD FELTER
          I wonder where Shane is?

Claud shakes his wife to wake her up.

                      CLAUD FELTER
Didn't Shane come back to the room
          with you last night?

Sarah Felter sits up.

                      SARAH FELTER
No. He was winning.  I was losing.
So I just left him at the Favors
Poker Room.  I didn't want to keep
          playing.

                      CLAUD FELTER
Do you think he met a girl and went
back to her place when he was
          finished playing poker?

                      SARAH FELTER
I don't know.  He was not
          socializing with anyone while we
were together.  But of course I am
his mother and so after I left, who
knows.  He probably met someone.  I
          am sure he is okay.

                      CLAUD FELTER
          I don't know.  I have a bad
          feeling.

SOUND OF SIRENS.

EXT. HOTVILLE BEACH - MORNING

Body laying on the beach.  SHERIFF CONNIE MCIRON stands
above the body, looking down.  DEPUTY SALLY FRANCIS is
squatted at the body with a flashlight. People start walking
onto the beach and to where the Sheriff's car is parked with
flashing lights. Mary Dugan, in a bikini, is standing at the
car. The Coroner Van with lights flashing pulls up on the
beach next to the Sheriff's car.  Coroner, DOC JACK PERKINS,
opens the door and exits from the driver's side.   Two men
carrying a stretcher with a body bag on it get out of the
back.  They walk toward the body and reach the Sheriff and
Deputy.

                      SHERIFF CONNIE MCIRON
Doc Jack, don't be running off with
the body.  There might be someone
on the beach who knows who the
young man is.  We need him
          identified.

                      DOC JACK PERKINS
          Finger prints, dental records,
          police records, school records,
          facebook records, twitter records,
we will identify him all right.

                      SHERIFF CONNIE MCIRON
Not everyone is on the grid under
the communist eyes of our prying
          government.

                      DOC JACK PERKINS
Yeah.  Well.  That prying makes my
          job easier.

                      SHERIFF CONNIE MCIRON
Your job.  Hotville is not exactly
          crime riddled city.

                      DEPUTY SALLY FRANCIS
          The young woman
                (looks at her e-Tablet)
Mary Dugan discovered the body on
her way for a morning swim.  She
said she had seen him the day
before at the Sevy Motel where she
is staying.  She can lead me to the
room but she does not know the room
          number.

Coroner Tech STEVE JERGINS walks up next to Deputy Sally
Francis.

                      STEVE JERGINS
You smell nice today.  Is that the
          perfume I bought you.

                      DEPUTY SALLY FRANCIS
                (giggles)
Yeah.  I thought perfume was a nice
          change from a date bringing
          flowers.

                      SHERIFF CONNIE MCIRON
Sure. Why didn't you just come out
and tell her that she has body
          oder.  You asshole.

                      STEVE JERGINS
No.  When you give someone perfume,
that does not mean that you think
          they stink.
                (looks and points at
                 body)
Say Doc Jack, doesn't the victim
have a stamp of some kind on his
          hand there.

Doc Jack gets down to look at the victims hand.

INT.  ROOM AT SEVY MOTEL - MORNING

CLAUD FELTER and SARAH FELTER finish getting dressed. They
look out the window toward the beach and the flashing
lights.

                      CLAUD FELTER
Did you murder our son last night?

                      SARAH FELTER
How could you ask such a question.
Are you insane?  I am sure he is
          okay.  He probably took his
winnings and got fall down drunk
          partying.

EXT. HOTVILLE BEACH - MORNING

The ghost of SHANE FELTER rises from his body.  He looks
around.

                      SHANE FELTER
                (looking down at his own
                 body)
How can I be dead?  Who shot me?

Shane walks over to where MARY DUGAN is standing.  She is
sexy in her bikini and he gives her a look over.

                      SHANE FELTER
God, you are so sexy, and I never
could get the nerve up to speak to
          you.  Now I am dead.
                (looks around)
I thought when people died they
were supposed to be greeted by
loved ones who have gone to the
          great beyond.  What.  Is this
Walmart?  God done fired all of his
          door greeters. Let me think.
                (scratches his head)
          The Wilcox family recently died.
Greet me, you fuckers.  Don't leave
          me standing here alone.

STEWART DUDDLEY walks up to where Mary Dugan is standing.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
          What is happening?

                      MARY DUGAN
Some young man got shot.  He was
shot five times.  I found his body.
It was awful.  Say, aren't you
          Stewart Duddley.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
          Yeah.  Do I know you?

                      MARY DUGAN
Not really.  I am just a fan.  I am
sorry you can't play football any
          more.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
          So you are from Hearthville?

                      MARY DUGAN
No. Our High Schools are rivals.  I
          am in college now.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
          Hearthville College.

                      MARY DUGAN
Yeah.  You know, I actually do know
          your brother Victor and Jossette.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
How is that, that you know them.

                      MARY DUGAN
My mom is friends with Jossette's
mom Terence.  I've been on a few
dates with Roger but I think he is
gay.  I heard that you two once
          kissed.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
It was an accidental kiss.  We are
not gay.  And who in the hell would
have told you about that, any way.

                      SHANE FELTER
I am standing here dead and you two
          are just talking, talking, talking.
And I am not even in your
          conversation.  You fucking,
          shallow, turds.

                      MARY DUGAN
I am glad you are not gay.  So
prove it.  Ask me out on a date.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
You want to go out on a date with
me.  A football player who can no
longer play football.  I am a
          washed up loser.

                      MARY DUGAN
          So you are gay.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
          No.

                      MARY DUGAN
          Date me.

                      SHANE FELTER
I am dead and he is going to get
laid.  This world is so god damned
          cruel.  Someone, just shoot me
          another five times.

                      STEWART DUDDLEY
Okay. Do you want to go dancing
tonight.  I hear the Intrique is a
          cool club.

                      MARY DUGAN
Pick me up at seven.  I am in room
          301.  I am here with my parents so
if we have sex it can't be in my
          room.

                      SHANE FELTER
I've heard her say that before.  To
me.  But I have never talked to
her.  Have I?  I was at the Favors'
Poker Parlor.  I was winning. Mom
was losing.  And yes.  That girl
was there.  I think maybe we did
          talk.  But I can't remember.

Shane sees an aura of colors around Stewart.  He notices
auras of light coming from many of the people on the beach.
But he doesn't see an aura coming from Mary Dugan.  Then all
the auras vanish from the different people.

                      SHANE FELTER
When I was seeing auras why did
some of the people have auras and
others did not.  Why did this girl
not have an aura?  Stewart was all
lit up, but this girl, nothing.
          That is odd.  Isn't it?

INT. OGLBY HOME - LIVING ROOM - DAY

VICTOR DUDDLEY is setting with JOSSETTE OGLEBY and ROGER
OGLEBY. Victor sees an aura around Roger but he doesn't see
one around Jossette.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
So Roger, I am sorry Stewart didn't
come with me.  He wanted to go to
          the beach in Hotville.

                      ROGER OGLEBY
How long is he planning on
          vacationing there?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
He reserved his room at the Sevy
          Motel for a week.

                      JOSSETTE OGLEBY

Why isn't he staying at the
          Victoria Hotel?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
We tend to like the Sevy.  Mrs.
          Sevy is funny and giant
          corporations have no sense of
          humor.

                      ROGER OGLEBY
                (laughs)
Burn.  Yeah.  I like staying at the
Sevy also.  But rooms at the
Victoria are nice and the maids are
          sexy.

                      JOSSETTE OGLEBY

Hey.  We know you are gay.  Don't
          pretend to notice sexy maids.

                      ROGER OGLEBY
I do like to look at sexy women.
And sexy men.  Bitch, don't try to
put me in a damn box.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Wow.  I don't think I've ever
witnessed the two of you fight
          before.

                      ROGER OGLEBY
          Seriously Victor, did calling me
out for being gay and giving me a
lecture sound like Jossette.  It is
like she has been replaced by some
          pod person or some shit.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY (V.O.)
Jossette did not have an aura when
I was seeing Roger's aura.  Which
          happens.  True.  But Roger is
          right, she doesn't seem like
          Jossette.  And in the other
timeline when she died, we couldn't
find her soul.  And now here she
is.  Is she a figment without a
soul?  Legacy time code?  New time
          code?  Something Belial has
          created?

                      JOSSETTE OGLEBY

What are you in such deep thought
          about?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Do you have a soul?

                      JOSSETTE OGLEBY

What a weird question?  As smart as
you are, you can't be religious.
You can't really believe in God or
that there is such a thing as a
soul.  No one has a soul.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
So you have never been in touch
with your higher being or your
lower being or just your being?

                      JOSSETTE OGLEBY

          What are you talking about?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Only people without a soul can
truly be an atheist. Because if you
have a soul, at some time or
          another, you've experienced
          something supernatural.

                      JOSSETTE OGLEBY
You are talking like my Aunt
Rachel.  Are you as crazy as she
          is?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Wow.  This is scary.

                      ROGER OGLEBY
Tell me about it.  And whoever this
is, I am not so sure she is not
          dangerous.

                      JOSSETTE OGLEBY
You two are the ones who are
          dangerous, you damn religious nuts.
We are born.  We die.  That is it.
No one has a soul. Souls do not
          exist.  Trust in the science.

                      ROGER OGLEBY
Trust in the science.  Now you are
          sounding like some damn demon.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Or worse.  A democrat.

                      ROGER OGLEBY
Well.  You two have fun.  I am
getting the hell out of here.  I am
going to call mom and let her know
that I am going to Hotville.

INT. LEROY'S SPACESHIP - NIGHT

There are colorful lights flashing around the night sky.
Seen from the spaceship, Below on the ground there are fires
burning. Sirens SCREAMING can be heard on the spaceship.
LEROY BARE attempts to make a call on the radio.

                      LEROY BARE
          I can't find a frequency that will
work.  I need to call my mom and
let her know my eternity may soon
          be a cage.

BACHUS WILCOX has tears running down his face.  He hugs his
father PROFESSOR WILCOX and his mom MINI WILCOX.

                      BACHUS WILCOX
I guess on some level I never
believed in an after life.  I
thought when I died that would be
it.  I didn't believe in God or
          hell.

                      MINI WILCOX
          We are all sinners.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
Worse, I fear we are pacifist.

                      LEROY BARE
          I don't understand.  Worse.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
I did not enjoy my sinning.  I wish
I had sinned with the vigor of a
soldier going off to war and not a
          remorseful coward filled with
guilt.  And if Bachus was going to
suck a man's cock, it is sad that
          he did not enjoy it.

                      MINI WILCOX
We should repent for our sins and
not wish we had been better
sinners.  If we repent, God might
save us from that hell down below.

There is a loud voice from outside the spaceship. GENERAL
GERALD UPPSON makes demands.

                      GENERAL GERALD UPPSON
Leroy Bare, land your spaceship and
we will let you go.  But you must
surrender the Wilcox family so that
          they can be properly caged.

                      LEROY BARE
Why does the Witches Council want
          them caged?

                      GENERAL GERALD UPPSON
I do not ask questions, I just
          follow orders.

                      LEROY BARE
          Whose orders?

                      GENERAL GERALD UPPSON
The orders from the Witches Council
were conveyed to me by an assistant
          to Sabian Blackrock.

                      LEROY BARE
Let me speak to Alice Malokey and
if she tells me to surrender then I
          will surrender.

                      GENERAL GERALD UPPSON
          Boy, you have no choice.
Surrender.  Or be caged with the
          Wilcox family.

Leroy Bare puts his spaceship in full throttle mode in attempt
to speed away from the fleet of spaceships commanded by
General Gerald Uppson.  He dodges ships to the left and then
ships to the right. He goes through a bright colorful portal
to exit the metaphysical world and to enter the physical
world.

                      LEROY BARE
          I must reach the ocean.

                      BACHUS WILCOX
          Why?

                      LEROY BARE
This ship can act as a subarine.
Most of the space alien fleet that
          operates in the metaphysical world
can not operate in physical oceans
          but only metaphysical oceans.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
          Why is that?

                      LEROY BARE
          Metaphysical oceans require a
spaceship to contain  an alloy that
          melts in physical oceans.

Leroy Bare types in a code.

                      LEROY BARE
Let us hope this SOS code reaches
someone who knows who I am and
          gives a fuck.

INT. BARE MANSION, NAT WILKIN'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

BILLY BINGO is sitting on the side of his bed and  looking
at a Book of Magic called the Book of Zeus.  NAT WILKINS
throws his comic book aside and jumps out of bed to look to
see what Billy is reading.

                      NAT WILKINS
Where on earth did you get that
          book?

                      BILLY BINGO
Not on physical earth but my home
in Whitehead and  Bare Town.  It is
where I spend a good bit of time
between lives when I am not with
          Iapetus in the Outland's Iapetus.
It is through that community that I
am mostly reincarnated.  It is the
other world home of my mom Maureen
          and father Frank.

                      NAT WILKINS
Is Whitehead and Bare Town my home
          also?

                      BILLY BINGO
Mostly.  You also spend time in the
          Outlands.  Although you are an
earth witch, you have a home on the
planet Malokey with a woman who you
like when you two aren't hating one
          another.

Nat Wilkins grins.  He pats Blly on the back.

                      NAT WILKINS
          Woman?  I don't have a woman.
          Girls think I am gross.

                      BILLY BINGO
You will grow out of that.  Or they
will grow out of that.  You are a
good man and that is important to
          women who are worth having.

                      NAT WILKINS
So is that book just to learn magic
or does itself have magic power,
you know, like that book in the
          movie Hocus Pocus.

                      BILLY BINGO
It printed on magic paper made from
dogwood trees like a lot of magic
          and divining  wands.

Billy Bingo stands up from where he had been sitting on the
bed. He walks to the outerwall with the doors to the
balcony.  He snaps his fingers to cause a magic wand to
appear. He then snaps the wand back and forth.

                      BILLY BINGO
Ech e comb abontu, el vitro cane,
excel. Magic be true and magic
blue, I need a portal that is brand
new. Ech e comb abontu, el vitro
cane, excel.  It must be a room
with computers and brains and with
a rolodex of names of those who I
          can trust.

There is a LOUD BOOMING NOISES.  The house shakes.

                      BILLY BINGO
Fuck.  Daniel and your mom is going
          to wake up.

INT. BARE MANSION, DANIEL BARE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

DANIEL BARE and NATALINA WILKINS sit straight up in bed.

                      DANIEL BARE
          What was that!

                      NATALINA WILKINS
          I don't know.  I think the sound
          came from the boy's room.

Daniel Bare gets out of bed.  He grabs a robe hanging on a
hat tree at the foot of the bed. He opens the door and sees
his father MAYOR HOLLIS BARE  walking with the beautiful
DEMI DUVO who is a sexy body guard with whom Hollis is
having an affair.

                      MAYOR HOLLIS BARE
Go back to bed Daniel.  I am going
          to handle this.

                      DANIEL BARE
The sound came from Nat's room.
          Billy is visiting Nat.

                      MAYOR HOLLIS BARE
          I know.

                      DANIEL BARE
Well. I wasn't sure.  You have been
preoccupied and I didn't think to
          tell you.

                      DEMI DUVO
You have a god sleeping in your
house and you didn't think to tell
          me?

                      DANIEL BARE
He is the spawn on Iapetus. That
          doesn't...

                      DEMI DUVO
No.  It does.  He is a god who
could destroy me in a heart beat.
Hollis, if I am going to be your
security guard I should be told
          these things.

                      MAYOR HOLLIS BARE
I am sorry.  I guess I should have
lied and pretended I didn't know
          Billy was here.

                      DEMI DUVO
          You! Devil!

They walk to Nat's room.  They open the door without knowing
what to expect.  They see a giant metaphysical room has been
added off the balcony from Nat's room.

                      MAYOR HOLLIS BARE
Wow. I guess this mansion just
          wasn't big enough for Billy.

INT. BARE MANSION, NAT WILKIN'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

BILLY BINGO and NAT WILKINS see MAYOR HOLLIS, DEMI DUVO, and
DANIEL BARE enter the bedroom.

                      BILLY BINGO
Sorry.  I didn't realize the spell
          would rock the house.

                      DANIEL BARE
It is okay. Is this permanent?

                      BILLY BINGO
Metaphysical. But yes.  I felt with
everything that is going on, I
needed some equipment and then I
got to thinking that I need a room
for the equipment.  I will set up a
portal from my home to this same
room where it can be accessed from
          either house.

                      MAYOR HOLLIS BARE
Sounds like a plan.  It will also
help you to watch after your mom
and sister when you are staying
here and Nat when you aren't
          staying here.

                      BILLY BINGO
Well. I will look after all of you
          all.  Especially that beautiful
          woman standing there.

                      DEMI DUVO
          I don't know what to say.  I've
          never met a god before.

Nat stares at Billy.

                      BILLY BINGO
I am just a normal boy.

                      NAT WILKINS
No. You are not.  You just used
magic to create a giant room.  And
the kind of room you just created
does not just require magic.  It
          requires intellect.

                      DANIEL BARE
So Nat, have you been trying magic.

                      NAT WILKINS
Some.  I am not very good at it.
My powers are weak.  And I am
          afraid that I am dumb.

                      BILLY BINGO
He has been trying to use magic to
build a sports car.  He is getting
          there.

                      DEMI DUVO
You could create the sports car for
          him.

                      BILLY BINGO
No.  He wants to create it himself.
          I respect that.

                      DANIEL BARE
Dad, should I be alarmed.  I am
trying to help raise two boys who
          are more powerful than me.

                      MAYOR HOLLIS BARE
          Maybe you should start taking
lessons with Nat.  Billy seems to
know how to unlock powers that have
been locked by the witches council,
          if you catch my drift.

                      DANIEL BARE
Can you teach me?  Would you teach
me.  I know you and Victor do not
          particularly like me.

                      BILLY BINGO
Sure, I will teach you.  I trust
you and that is more important than
liking. Of course we have to be
          careful with the Witches Council.
We can't let them find out. If they
were to find out and put a new lock
in place, we would have to find a
new work around and that might not
be easy.  In other words, I can't
stop them from locking the powers.
I can just find a way to undo the
locking.  And it takes work to make
the powers stronger.  To begin with
the magic  will always be weaker
than if they had not been locked.

                      DEMI DUVO
          Amazing.  With Billy's help we
might just stand a chance against
          the Space Alien Witches.

                      BILLY BINGO
We haven't so far.  And that is
          with Victor, Caleous, Iapetus and
          others.

INT. BARE MANSION, BILLY'S SPACE LAB - NIGHT

BILLY BINGO, NAT WILKINS, DANIEL BARE, DEMI DUVO, and MAYOR
HOLLIS BARE are looking Billy's space lab over.

                      DEMI DUVO
Billy.  What is this with the light
blinking red and green and making a
          humming noise.

Billy walks over to where she is standing.

                      BILLY BINGO
Is an artifact in the spell that
dates back to the Pluto Viso Wars.
It is to detect any SOS signals
from friendly spaceships.  I am not
sure if any spaceships are even
          still equipped with the signal.

Mayor Hollis Bare walks over to the panel and he flips a
switch and turns a knob.

                      MAYOR HOLLIS BARE
          Our family spaceships still contain
an SOS panel.  This is a stress
call.  Is there a way I can put the
          spacehip on a monitor.

                      BILLY BINGO
Let me think.  Gosh.  I am rusty.
There is a code.  Let me type it
          in.

Billy Bingo types in the code and an image of LEROY BARE
pops up on the screen.

                      LEROY BARE
Thank God. You are Billy Bingo,
          right?

                      BILLY BINGO
I am here with Daniel Bare and
          Hollis Bare.  What is wrong?

                      LEROY BARE
I was going to Whitehead and
Baretown to take the newly deceased
Wilcox family there.  I am trying
to stop them from being caged.  But
when I got to Whitehead and
Baretown, I discovered that it has
been destroyed and the souls there
caged.  What has happened there is
          awful.

                      BILLY BINGO
Fuck.  I can't go up against these
assholes by myself.  We've got to
          get Iapetus and Victor freed.

                      LEROY BARE
          There are spaceships after me.
General Gerald Uppson says that he
          is taking orders from Sabian
          Blackrock.

                      BILLY BINGO
Are spaceships that are after you
          metaphysical spaceships or physical
          spaceships?

                      LEROY BARE
I am pretty sure that  most them
          were made mainly for the
          metaphysical world.  I am heading
to the ocean in the physical world.

                      BILLY BINGO
Good. I am going to give you the
          coordinates to go to Rango.

                      LEROY BARE
I have never heard of that place
          before.

                      BILLY BINGO
It is where sharks go when they
die.  Most people are terrified to
          enter there but the coordinates
will take you to a safe place.

                      LEROY BARE
          Okay.  I got the coordinates.
          Billy. Thank you.

                      BILLY BINGO
We are in this war against evil
          together.

                      LEROY BARE
I guess.  But you should know, I am
          basically a coward.

                      BILLY BINGO
No.  I have known you in past
lives.  You were always there when
          I needed you.

                      LEROY BARE
          I wish I could remember.

                      BILLY BINGO
I suspect being able to remember is
key to winning this war.  We have
got to figure a way to end this
          mass amnesia.

                                             FADE IN:

INT. ELLIOT'S OFFICE AT THE COLLEGE - DAY

ELLIOT DUDDLEY is standing looking out the window at the
pretty college girls and handsome young men walking about.
He fumbles with a cigarette packet from his pocket and pulls
out a cigarette.  He puts the cigarette into his mouth.  He
pulls a book of matches from his pocket and pulls a match
from the book.  He strikes the match and lights his
cigarette.  He shake the flame of the match until it goes
out.  He drops the match into an ashtray on a small table at
the window.  He begins to puff on the cigarette.  He rubs
his crotch area.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
Looking at those young women makes
          me so horny.

QUENTIN DARKO enters the office.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
You know smoking will kill you.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
          According to Professor Wilcox
          nicotine helps protect people from
          covid.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
          Smart man.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
Yeah.  I have been ordered to fire
him.  I don't want to.  George, the
current Victor, will have a fucking
          fit if I do.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
How is George handling Victor being
          caged?

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
About like me.  Going through the
motions and trying to stop my
emotions.  How in the hell are we
going to defeat Satan and Belial.
It was bad enough when you all were
just having to fight the space
          alien witches.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
Arthur Ramsey has asked me to ask
          you to free Jossette.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
No.  He wants his grandmother Nette
freed.  They are not the same
person. I have no intention of
          freeing Nette or Barnabus.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
Okay.  Say she is Nette.  Why do
          you hate her so much?

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
          She and Artorious murdered Victor
in cold blood.  And then when we
were trying to bring him back to
          life, Donny Maxtone was murdered.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
Do you know why they murdered
          Victor?

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
Not exactly.  I don't believe any
of their lies or stage theatrics.
So I am guessing they were working
for the Witches Council.  Nette of
course wanted to take control of
          Jossette's body and managed that.
          Nortorious was probably after
someone's body but his plan failed.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
Artorious has been helpful to us at
          times.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
          Artorious is an excellent liar
          because at times he convinces
himself that his is the more noble
cause and that he is the good guy.
On some level he does not want to
be a bad guy.  But Nette is evil
and that is what she wants to be.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
What about you, Elliot?  What do
you want to be?  You have not
always been what I would call the
good guy in the lives we've led.
Even when I walked in you were
          thinking about seducing one of
          those college students down there.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
I really need to learn to not talk
to myself when I think I am alone.
But I do love the sound of my own
          voice.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
                (laughs)
Do you still love your wife Ellen?

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
I now have my memory back but her
          memory is still muddled and
          confused.  It was not Victor's
magic that took her memory.  I
guess it was the Witches Council
          who stole her from me.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
Are you saying that you don't still
          love her?

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
With amnesia I was happy.  We were
happy together in our simple life
with our children and our confusion
and ignorance. But now.  I am not
happy.  I am angry.  And even
though now I should feel less
confused, in some ways I feel more
          confused. Part of my confusion
comes from my awakening not just in
body but in mind.  I feel things
now that I did not previously feel.
Yes.  I want to cheat on Ellen with
          some young thing.

Quentin's phone starts to play music.  He pulls his phone
out of pocket.  He looks to see who is calling him.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
Oh fuck.  It is Alice Malokey.  I
wonder what she wants to cuss me
out about now or how I've wronged
her darling husband or son.  I
would like to fuck her darling
Stephen up the ass until he cries.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
You serously do not want to do
          that.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
No.  I have to call her back.  And
          apologize for whatever I've done
          wrong.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
Well.  Maybe you should go answer
her in person and get down on your
          knees.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
Yeah.  I guess.  Although I would
much rather fuck Stephen in the ass
          than kiss her ass.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
What do you have against her son
          Stephen?

                      QUENTIN DARKO
As a hunter Stephen has no fucking
sense. I don't like his father Phil
either but at least I can reason
          with him when they've captured
          someone I want freed.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
          Oh. Okay.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
          Stephen cares more about pleasing
          the Witches Council than doing
right.  Phil knows it is all
bullshit but still he plays the
          party line.  But Stephen doesn't
play.  He is too dang serious.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
My son Stewart can also be overly
          serious.  He considered football
his life and now he can't play.  I
took him to the doctor earlier
today and we had hopes but the
doctor said no.  Even though he is
doing better, if he starts back
playing he could make the injury
          worse.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
          I am sorry.  Couldn't you use a
          little magic to help him?

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
Now that I know things, I've
thought about it.  But I was always
so proud that Stewart was able to
be a star football player without
magic.  And I don't think either
          Witches Council would approve.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
I guess since I now run the Earth
          Witches Council I should not
approve either but he was so damn
good.  I hate that he can't play
          any more.

                      ELLIOT DUDDLEY
          I appreciate that.

                      QUENTIN DARKO
Well, let me go see what Alice
Malokey wants.  I am sure I have
          done something wrong.

INT. BARE MANSION - DAY

13 year old NAT WILKINS and 13 year old  BILLY BINGO are in
Nat's bedroom watching television.

                      NAT WILKINS
Daniel is nice enough to mom and
me. I like him.  But I've kind of
noticed that a lot of people don't
          like him.

                      BILLY BINGO
He is the law.  That makes some
people nervous even if they have no
          reason to be nervous.

                      NAT WILKINS
So you don't think he is an asshole
          as I suspect.

                      BILLY BINGO
Oh.  He is definitely an asshole.

Nat laughs.

                      NAT WILKINS
Do you have any idea what my mom
          sees him?

                      BILLY BINGO
Well. Obviously he is not an
asshole to her or you.  And he is
rich.  He may not be much liked by
a lot of people, but I bet he is
          respected and sometimes that is
          more important than being liked.

                      NAT WILKINS
So are you looking forward to going
hiking with Daniel and mom in the
          Hotville Swamp tomorrow.

                      BILLY BINGO
It should be fun.  I hope there are
lots of snakes and alligators that
          I can get pictures of.

Daniel BARE enters Nat's bedroom.

                      DANIEL BARE
Billy, your mom tells me she has
          caught you drinking liquor.  She
tells me that you have gotten fall
          down drunk.

                      BILLY BINGO
I also smoke and cuss like a
          sailor.

                      DANIEL BARE
You know smoking can kill you?

                      BILLY BINGO
          The government only tells people
          that because there are diseases
          that smoking prevents.  Also it
helps stop people from getting fat.
Looking at you, I'd guess you need
          to smoke more.

Daniel Bare sticks his head out the bedroom door and
screams.

                      DANIEL BARE
Natalina, I have no idea what to
          say to Billy.

                      BILLY BINGO
Tell me that when I grow up women
will love me and that I will get
          lots of pussy.

                      NAT WILKINS
Get lots of Venereal Disease, go
blind, go insane, and then your
dick will fall off.  It is best to
          love just one woman.

                      BILLY BINGO
          I think I would like a Harem.

                      DANIEL BARE
Go to the Beauty Shop with your mom
and after sitting with those women
talking, there is no way you'd want
          a harem.

                      NAT WILKINS
Yeah.  Men aren't really born gay.
They turn gay when they go to the
          Beauty Shop with their mom.

                      DANIEL BARE
          I didn't say that.

                      BILLY BINGO
I am pretty sure you did.

                      DANIEL BARE
I've got to get out of here.

NATALINA walks into the bedroom.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
Daniel, did you tell them that our
trip to Hotville has been called
          off.

                      NAT WILKINS
          Why?

                      DANIEL BARE
A boat exploded on the Hearthville
Lake today. I've got to investigate
it.  I am sorry boys, but I am just
          going to be too busy.

                      NAT WILKINS
Well. Obviously we will miss you
being with us but can't mom take us
          without you.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
No.  I am not going into that swamp
without a man being with us.

                      BILLY BINGO
Oh my God.  Your mother just lost
the right to call herself a
          feminist.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
I have never called myself that. I
like to have a  man to kill snakes,
spiders, and also take out the
          garbage.

                      DANIEL BARE
And here I am thinking the only
thing you want me for is sex.

                      BILLY BINGO
No.  She wants you for your money.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
Billy.  You know that is not true.

                      DANIEL BARE
It is okay if to some degree it is
true.  I don't expect any woman
would give me a second look if I
were living under a bridge.  I
don't want to be poor and I
wouldn't want a woman who wants me
          to be poor.

                      BILLY BINGO
I can't believe mom turned down
          that money from Victor Duddley.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
          Your mom loves your father.

                      BILLY BINGO
So if you were mom, you would have
          turned the money down?

                      NATALINA WILKINS
Hell no.  But my sister and I are
          two very different women.

                      DANIEL BARE
What?  Are you saying Victor wanted
to give Maureen money to have sex
          with him?

                      BILLY BINGO
No.  Gross.  It would have been a
          business investment to help her
          start a flower shop.

                      DANIEL BARE
So, what does Maureen loving her
husband Frank have anything to do
with her turning money down from
          Victor.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
          Frank can be jealous.

                      BILLY BINGO
He can also be missing in action.
He needs to get his ass home.  If
          mom had accepted that investment
maybe dad could have quit working
for David Jenkins out in the Gulf
          of Mexico.

                      NAT WILKINS
Changing the subject.  I want to go
          to Hotville tomorrow.

                      DANIEL BARE
I am sorry.  I've got too much
stuff on my plate because of that
          boat explosion.

                      BILLY BINGO
Don't you have people who work for
you?  It is not really a
          complicated case, is it?

                      DANIEL BARE
          I can't talk about it.

                      BILLY BINGO
So Nat I guess we are going to have
to hack into the computers at the
police department to find out what
          is going on.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Unbelievable.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
You better not.  If I catch you and
Nat doing such a thing, I will give
          you two a spanking.

                      BILLY BINGO
Yeah.  I am not planning on being
          caught.

                      NAT WILKINS
You just told them what you were
          planning.

                      BILLY BINGO
Where would be the challenge if
they didn't know what I was
          planning?

INT. BARE MANSION, DANIEL AND NATALINA'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

NATALINA WILKINS, is sitting at an antique vanity / dresser,
looking in the mirror and combing her hair.  DANIEL BARE
comes out of the bathroom from taking a shower.  He has a
towel wrapped around him.  He is using another towel to dry
his hair.

                      DANIEL BARE
Nat and Billy are something else.
I hate that we will not be able to
          take them to Hotville tomorrow.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
We will go some other time.

Daniel Bare walks over to the glass french doors that open
to an upstairs balcony from the bedroom.  He opens the
doors.

                      DANIEL BARE
It is warm tonight.  I think I
might want to sleep outside under
          the stars.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
Well.  You can do what you want.
But I am going to sleep in the bed
under the covers.  I feel a chill
          in the air.

Daniel Bare closes the french door.  He turns and looks at
Natalina Wilkins.

                      DANIEL BARE
          There was something supernatural
involved in that boat explosion on
the lake.  Some kind of demon took
control of Bachus' body.  I've got
to form a Hunter Group to go after
          the demon.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
Is that going to put you in danger?

Natalina Wilkins stands up and looks at Daniel Bare.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
Do you have any idea what kind of
          witch summoned the demon?

                      DANIEL BARE
No.  I don't if Professor Wilkins
was killed because of his covid
          research or something personal  I
don't know if the murder was
          sanctioned.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
And the summoning of a demon?  Who
          would sanction that?

                      DANIEL BARE
          Satan.  Belial.  Perhaps even the
          Space Alien Witches Council.  I
          don't know.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
Do you think the demon will try to
          kill other people?

                      DANIEL BARE
          Yes.

INT. BARE MANSION, NAT WILKINS' BEDROOM - NIGHT

BILLY BINGO has his phone. He makes a call.

                      BILLY BINGO
          Hey Jimmy.  This is Billy.

INT. HARRIS HOME, JIMMY HARRIS'  BEDROOM THAT HE SHARES WITH
HIS OLDER BROTHER TOMMY HARRIS - NIGHT

JIMMY HARRIS has pillow behind his back as he is sitting in
bed.  A bowl of popcorn is on a bed stand between his bed
and the bed of his brother TOMMY HARRIS.  Jimmy has a phone
in one hand and is flipping the pages of a comic book with
the other hand.  Tommy Harris is flipping the channels of
the TV. Jimmy throws his comic book aside and reaches for
some popcorn.

INTERCUT PHONE CONVERSATION:

                      JIMMY HARRIS
I came by your place today.  Your
mom said that you are not home.

                      BILLY BINGO
I am with my cousin Nat at the Bare
          Mansion.

                      TOMMY HARRIS
Tell Billy it is not nice to brag
that he is sleeping in a mansion.

                      JIMMY HARRIS
          Shut up.

                      BILLY BINGO
          What?

                      JIMMY HARRIS
          Not you.  My brother.

                      BILLY BINGO
Well. Don't be rude to him.  I've
got a big favor.  I want you and
your brother to drive down to
          Hearthville tomorrow and then we
will take a boat out to Hotville.
Nat and I had planned to go hiking
with Daniel but Daniel  called the
          trip  off because of work.

                      JIMMY HARRIS
          Tommy.  Did you hear that?

                      TOMMY HARRIS
Yeah.  We can do that if mom and
dad say it is okay.  Also, Billy
and Nat have to get permission.

                      JIMMY HARRIS
Tommy says that we can do that but
only if we all get permission.

                      BILLY BINGO
I am sure we can get permission.
Tell Tommy not be drunk or stoned
when he talks to Daniel and my
          aunt.

                      TOMMY HARRIS
You tell Billy I will be talking
with sense and he'd better be doing
          the same.

                      BILLY BINGO
Yeah.  I heard Tommy. I have not
had a drank since I've been here.

                      JIMMY HARRIS
If my parents say no, I will call
you.  Otherwise we will be seeing
          you early in the morning.

                      TOMMY HARRIS
          Not too early.

                      JIMMY HARRIS
Well, as early as I can my sleepy
head brother up and on the go.

                      BILLY BINGO
The drive will take the two of you
a good hour so do not get too late
          of a start.

                      TOMMY HARRIS
          Understood.

                      JIMMY HARRIS
          Understood.

END INTERCUT

INT. BARE MANSION, DANIEL AND NATALINA'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

DANIEL BARE  is down on the floor doing pushups. NATALINA
WILKINS is in the bed reading a story on her Kindle. NAT
WILKINS enters the bedroom. Natalina Wilkins puts the Kindle
down.

                      NAT WILKINS
Can Tommy Harris take us for hike
in the Hotville Swamp?  We promise
we will stay on the hiking trail.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
No.  Tommy Harris is just a
teenager and I know he and Billy
are friends but from what I hear he
          is on the wild side.

                      NAT WILKINS
What if we promise we will only go
with a tour group.  You know.
Where a park ranger will lead us
          along the trail.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
I will go with you and Billy can
invite Tommy and his brother Jimmy
Harris to come with us.  I will
call Maureen.  She and Bess might
          want to come with us.

                      NAT WILKINS
          Okay. Love you.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
Love you back.  Now you and Billy
go to bed and go to sleep.

Nat leaves the bedroom. Natalina picks up her phone from the
bed stand.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
          Hey sis.
                (pause)
No.  Billy is okay.  I am sorry I
am calling late.  Nat and Billy are
insisting that we go for a hike in
          the Hotville Swamp tomorrow.  I
          know it is late notice.
                (pause)
I know.  It is fine.  Billy is no
trouble.  I am glad to go with them
on the hike.  Daniel was going to
take the boys.  That had been the
plan.  But he is working on an
          investigation and can not go.
                (pause)
I was wondering if you and Bess
would like to go with us.  Billy
has invited Tommy and Jimmy Harris.
                (pause. laughs.)
Okay.  We will be looking for you
          in the morning.  Drive safely.
                (pause)
          Bye.

                      DANIEL BARE
Was she thrilled with your call?

                      NATALINA WILKINS
                (laughs)
Maureen was just worried that Billy
was getting too much for us.  But
actually I think she liked the idea
of us going on an outing tomorrow
          with Bess and the boys.

                      DANIEL BARE
What did she think about Tommy and
          Jimmy going with you?

                      NATALINA WILKINS
She likes Tommy and Jimmy.  Jimmy
and Billy do a good bit of
          skateboarding together.  And Tommy
has helped Billy with some school
          projects.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Billy needs help with school
          projects?

                      NATALINA WILKINS
          Sometimes.  You know, Billy and
Bess fight a good bit of the time.
They are not like Maureen and I
were growing up.  We loved doing
things together.  But Bess does not
like Billy.  I guess she loves him
but she does not like him.

                      DANIEL BARE
I was jealous of my cousins Johnny
and Lilly when they came to live
with us.  When I think back, I
could kick myself on some things.
I guess is like me.  She enjoyed
          being an only child.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
I would have hated being an only
          child.

                      DANIEL BARE
But back to the subject.  Why would
Billy need any help with a school
project?  I would be shocked if he
couldn't teach the teacher a few
          things.

                      NATALINA WILKINS
That is true.  I don't know.  But
anyway, Maureen likes for Tommy to
          help Billy with school work
          sometimes.

                      DANIEL BARE
I know it is a subject that you
prefer we avoid.  But I am going to
ask anyway.  Are Tommy and Jimmy
          witches?

                      NATALINA WILKINS
          I don't know.  I don't think so.  I
think they do know that Billy is
special.  That is if their memory
of that  has not been erased.

                      DANIEL BARE
Special.  That is a word.  How do
you think Billy is handling Iapetus
          being caged?

                      NATALINA WILKINS
I don't know.  You know, like
Victor, Billy has an alter he goes
into that behaves like any other
human.  I think since Billy has
been here we have mostly been
          dealing with his alter.

                      DANIEL BARE
And so his alter needs help with
          schoolwork and stuff?

                      NATALINA WILKINS
          Maybe.  I don't know.  I may invite
all of them, including the Harris
boys to spend the night here.  Will
          that be okay.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Sure.

Daniel Bare rolls over on his back from doing pushups.

INT. LEROY BARE'S SPACESHIP - NIGHT

LEROY BARE puts a small bottle down.  He mumbles a magic
spell while waving his arms.  PROFESSOR WILCOX, MINI WILCOX,
and BACHUS WILCOX each fly from the bottle in puff of smoke.
They look around with scared looks on their faces.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
Is this a spaceship?  Are you a
          space alien.

                      LEROY BARE
No.  I am just a witch.  We use
          spacecraft juse like the space
          alien witches.

                      MINI WILCOX
You are a witch.  Did you kill us?

                      LEROY BARE
No.  I am trying to save you.

                      BACHUS WILOX
But we are dead.  You didn't save
          us.

                      LEROY BARE
I am trying to save you from being
caged by Satan or Belial or the
          Space Alien Witches or whoever
killed you.  I am going to take you
to Whitehead and Bare Town.  You
          should be safe there.

On the monitors there are images of fire and smoke.

                      MINI WILCOX
He is taking us to hell.

                      LEROY BARE
What the hell?  What the hell has
          happened to Whitehead and Bare
Town. I guess I know.  Belial is
going to do to earth what was done
to Pluto Viso.  Oh my God.

On the monitors embers of hot coal can be seen.  And there
is fire burning buildings.  And then the site of circus like
animal cages can be seen with human souls screaming for
help.

CAMERA focuses on the face of Leroy Bare.  Tears are
streaming down his face. He is crying.

                      LEROY BARE
Hades is becoming hell here on
earth.  It is happening.  It is
          happening.  Oh God, Amelia, can't
you wake.  We need you.  We
          desperately need you.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
          I don't understand.

                      MINI WILCOX
We've died.  And we are going to
hell.  I told you we should not
have gone to that spouse swapping
          party.

                      BACHUS WILOX
          I sucked a man's cock once.  Just
once.  And I did not like it.  Now
I am going to hell for that.

                      LEROY BARE
No.  You are not evil.  Satan and
Belial are evil.  And Bachus, why
in the hell wouldn't you enjoy
sucking a man's cock.  That is just
          stupid.

                      BACHUS WILOX
He was fat.  And ugly.  But somehow
he knew I had cheated on the test.
And I didn't want to be thrown out
of college.  So I agreed to suck
          his cock.

                      LEROY BARE
Oh.  Anyway, that was his bad.  Not
          your bad.

                      BACHUS WILOX
I agreed to do it.  And now I am
going to hell in a spaceship flown
by a gay man who likes sucking
          cock.

                      LEROY BARE
I want to help everyone here but we
are in danger.  We've got to get
out of here.  I've got to find a
safe place.  Oh my God.  This is
all worse than I could have
          imagined.

                      MINI WILCOX
For our sins, is that how we are
going to spend our eternity?  Are
we going to end up like those poor
souls in a circus bear cage
screaming for help?  Will that be
          our eternity.

                      LEROY BARE
It is not about your sins.  There
are no sins.  We are biological
animals and like all animals we do
good and we do bad, but what is
good and bad?  It is sure as fuck
not for Satan and Belial to decide.

                      MINI WILCOX
But what about God?  He must hate
us.  He is not saving us.  He is
          not saving those poor souls.

                      LEROY BARE
          God, Amelia, is sleeping.  She
would try to save us just like she
tried to save the people of Pluto
          Viso.  But she can't.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
Are you sure God can't?  Are you
sure God is sleeping?  Maybe God is
          just playing opossum.

EXT. HEARTHVILLE BEACH - DAY

ELLEN DUDDLEY is walking onto the white sand of the beach.
She is wearing a straw hat, dark sun glasses, holding a
float in one hand and a bag in the other hand.  JUDY DUDDLEY
is walking behind her mother and holding a cooler.  VICTOR
DUDDLEY is walking behind his sister and holding two lounge
chairs.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
I wish Stewart and your father
could have come with us.  I would
have gone with them to the doctor
but you know there is nothing they
can do for Stewart's leg.  I wish
he could come to terms that he will
          never play football again.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Maybe there will be good news.
          We've got to hope.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
If good news then that will be
great.  If it is bad news, he has
got to get a job.  I wish he would
          work for me.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Victor, do you know how demeaning
that would be for him to work for
his younger brother.  He is not
going to want to take orders from
you.  I sure as hell wouldn't.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Well, see if I ever offer you a
          job.  You just failed the
          interview.
                (laughs)

They reach near the Hearthville Lake and begin staking their
territory on the beach. LEROY BARE is sitting in a chair
near them.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
                (Looks at Leroy)
Who is that queer looking dude
          looking at us.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
That is Leroy Bare. He works at the
          Hearthville Hospital.
                (screams)
          Hey Leroy.

Leroy stands up. He walks over to them.

                      LEROY BARE
          Hello Mrs. Duddley, Victor, Judy.
I wasn't sure if you would remember
          me since, well, you know.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
I guess you are wondering about me.
          How I am here.

                      LEROY BARE
          A little bit.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
I am confused.  Why wouldn't Victor
          be here?

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
Well, Victor almost died in the
          boot of that car.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          That actually happened.  I thought
          that was dream.  That happened!
Why would I think that was a dream?

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
Well, it hasn't been talked about
much.  Say Leroy, why don't we go
for a ride on dad's boat.

                      LEROY BARE
          Sounds good to me.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
I want to go.  Only I would like to
          go water skiing.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
Well you three go.  I am going to
sit here and read on Victor's book
when I am not watching all the
young sexy dudes.  Today seems to
          be sausage fest.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          Mom!

                      LEROY BARE
Well.  There is a gay convention in
          town.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
Well. Gay or not, they are fun to
          watch.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Well, call me old fashion, but I
prefer my eye candy more masculine.

                      LEROY BARE
There are some lesbians here also.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
I've never met you before and I
          already don't like you.

                      LEROY BARE
                (smiles)
Well, I think you are wonderful.  I
          think your entire family is
          wonderful.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Yeah, that is a total gay thing to
do, trying to make me feel like a
          bitch.

Leroy kisses Judy on the cheek. He pulls a small small, red,
rubber,  coin purse type thing from his pocket and pulls a
card from the purse.  He hands it to Judy.

                      LEROY BARE
If you ever need me for any reason,
do not hesitate to call me.  My
cousins are Johnny and Lilly Bare
and if the problem is over my head
I will make sure they are aware and
          will come to help you.

Judy Duddley takes the card.  She looks at Victor and her
mom.  Then she looks back at Leroy.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Are we in some kind of danger?

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
Yes we are.  Crime is out of
control.  Now let us forget that
shit and go out on the lake.

Judy looks at her mom with a questioning look.  Ellen shrugs
and makes clear she has no idea at what Leroy said.  Victor
eases closer to Leroy and they start walking.

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
                (whispers)
I am George.  Victor and Caelous
are caged.  I managed to escape.  I
do know where the cage is.

                      LEROY BARE
                (whispers)
Quentin Darko is trying to assemble
a resistance.  Will you be able to
          attend the meetings?

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
          I am not a witch.

                      LEROY BARE
But you have knowledge.  So Quentin
will not argue with me on this.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
                (walks up)
Who is Quentin and why would he
          argue with you?

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
          It is business.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          Oh.  Sounds like some shady
          business to me but whatever.

                      LEROY BARE
Are you good at water skiing?

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
Oh God no, she is awful.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Shut up.  I have improved.  I
improved so much I may just catch
myself a boyfriend while I impress
everyone with my new found skiing
          ability.

                      LEROY BARE
Most of the dudes on the beach
          today are gay.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
                (laughs)
I am sure there must be one
straight dude out there today and
he may just be this Cinderella's
          prince.

                      LEROY BARE
Maybe.  I think I did see Steed
Ramsey on the beach today with his
          father.

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
          Why?

                      LEROY BARE
          Quentin.

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
Oh.  Well, if we bump into them I
          will definitely introduce Judy to
          Steed.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          Who is Steed?

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
He is the cousin to Jossette and
Roger.  He is different from when
we knew him as Mark so forget that
          image of him.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
I did not have that image until you
          said that.  Dang it.  Victor.
          Sometimes.

                      LEROY BARE
So you have seen him since his
          mother and x-girlfriend tried to
          kill you?

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
Mom insisted I go visit Jossette
and Stewart visited Roger and we
are good.  Steed was there.  We are
good.  Other than Satan has taken
          over the damn planet...never mind.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          What?

                      VICTORY DUDDLEY
          Inside joke. Forget it.

                      LEROY BARE
          Yeah. Hilarious.

EXT. DOCK - DAY

Leroy Bare, Victor Duddley, and Judy Duddley walk from the
sandy beach onto the dock where the boat belonging to Elliot
Duddley is docked.  As they walk on the dock, the dock
bounces slightly.  They come to the boat and a shed.  Judy
opens the door to the shed to get her ski's.  She is
struggling to reach her skis.  Leroy helps her while Victor
begins untying the boat.

EXT. HEARTHVILLE BEACH - DAY

Ellen Duddley sees Arthur Ramsey and his son Steed talking
to some woman.  She isn't sure who the woman is.  Arthur
turns and sees Ellen.  They stare at one another.

Music starts to play from an intercom system on the beach.
Music Cue: Bang, Bang version sang by Nancy Sinatra -

EXT. HEARTHVILLE BEACH - DAY

ARTHUR RAMSEY, STEED RAMSEY, and ALICE MALOKEY are talking.
Steed sees his father is looking at a Ellen.

                      STEED RAMSEY
I think I see sparks flying between
you and Ellen Duddley?  What is
          that about?

                      ARTHUR RAMSEY
As children we used to play.  As
teenagers we fancied we were in
love.  Then I met your mom and I
          broke Ellens heart.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
          I didn't know that you and Victor's
          mom were ever an item.

                      STEED RAMSEY
You know, I saw Victor the other
day when he came to visit Jossette.
He was friendly to me.  I was all
apologizing for what mon did to
him, and he told me to love my mom.
He said the past is the past.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
You know he is not the real Victor.
The real Victor has been caged.  It
          is possible Satan has replaced
          Victor with a demon.

Ext. Duddley Boat on Hearthville Lake - day

JUDY DUDDLEY is sitting in a seat off on the left side of
the boat.  LEROY BARE is sitting in a seat off on the right
side of the boat.  VICTORY DUDDLEY is driving the boat.
Leroy is staring at Judy and Judy is staring at Leroy. Boat
slows to a stop.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
                (Waving with a big smile
                 on his face. Screams.)
          Yo, hey Professor Wilcox.

EXT. WILCOX BOAT - DAY

Boat slow to a stop. PROFESSOR WILCOX is sitting his wife
Mini Wilcox on one side of him and his son Bachus Wilcox on
the other side of him.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
Your father is threatening to fire
          me.

EXT. DUDDLEY BOAT - DAY

JUDY DUDDLEY is laughing and LEROY BARE starts laughing.
VICTOR DUDDLEY starts laughing.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
                (screams)
You blew the science lab up.  Did
          you expect an award.

EXT. WILCOX  BOAT - DAY

Bachus takes the wheel of the boat from his father.
Professor Wilcox  dives into the lake and swims.

EXT. DUDDLEY BOAT - DAY

PROFESSOR WILCOX  climbs the ladder onto the Duddley boat.
VICTOR DUDDLEY, JUDY DUDDLEY, and LEROY BARE watch him.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
I can't explain the lab blowing up.
The chemicals I were using should
not have been explosive.  But your
father will not listen to me.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
If he has not fired you yet, I am
sure he is listening.  I will talk
to him in your favor.  I will make
          a donation to the college.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
Thank you Victor.  I've been so
          worried.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
So you the chemicals were not
          explosive.  What were you working
          on?

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
I was experimenting with some of
          the covid vaccines.

                      LEROY BARE
Do you know why the vaccine has not
killed any more people than they
          have?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Why?

                      LEROY BARE
Some of the vaccines were a lot
less potent because they were not
          being stored correctly.  They
          actually planned on killing more
          people than they did.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          Who is they?

                      LEROY BARE
          People working for Satan.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
You are joking.  Right.  I mean you
are gay.  You aren't a religious
          nut are you?

                      LEROY BARE
Why do you think I am gay?  You
acted like you didn't even know me.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          I am sorry.

                      LEROY BARE
          Why?

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          For assuming you are gay.

                      LEROY BARE
Well, I am gay, but I don't have it
stamped to my forehead, do I?

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
My wife and I have been trying to
figure out if our son Bachus is
gay.  Not that we would mind, but
          not knowing bothers us.

                      LEROY BARE
I am pretty sure he is straight but
          an INCEL.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
          What is an INCEL?

                      LEROY BARE
Celibate but not by the choice.
They can't connect with women for
whatever reason.  I think it is
because most modern women are crazy
          bitches.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Oh my God.  Leroy, you are just
          plain evil.

                      LEROY BARE
See what I mean.  Would you want to
ask Judy out on the date.  Look at
her.  Before you even ask her out,
you know she is going to shoot you
          down.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Professor Wilcox, I will totally go
out on a date with your son.

                      LEROY BARE
Now Professor Wilox, thank me for
          getting your son a date.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
          Thanks Judy.  Thanks Leroy.  So
Victor, you will talk to your
          father.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
I will and if he does not listen to
me or too much pressure is being
put on him from the college board
to fire you, I will give you a job.
You do not have to worry.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
          Thank you.

Professor Wilcox dives into the lake and swims back to his
boat. Victor puts the boat back into motion once Professor
Wilcox is on the ladder to his own boat.

                      LEROY BARE
You know Professor Wilcox may be in
          danger.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
I know it.  I am just not sure what
to do about it.  It is not like I
          am really Victor.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          What?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          I was joking.

                      LEROY BARE
Yeah.  I am still laughing at that
          joke.  I tell you what.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
You two are so weird together

EXT. WILCOX BOAT - DAY

PROFESSOR WILCOX climbs back aboard his boat. He sits down
next to his son BACHUS WILCOX.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
So son, how would you like to go on
          date with Judy Duddley.

                      BACHUS WILCOX
Are you insane?  If I went on a
date with her I would be so scared
that I would piss in my pants and
shit myself.  I could never show my
          face again.

EXT. LAKE HEARTHVILLE - DAY

From view on Wilcox boat, tight focus on Professor Wilcox,
Bachus Wilcox and Mini Wilcox.  Then pull camera back to a
long shot across the water of Hearthville Lake toward the
boat.  Inside the shot also include the view of the Duddley
Boat.  Then move back closer toward the Wilcox boat.  Right
on the Wilcox boat. EXPLOSION. The boat explodes into a ball
of fire. Bachus flies into the air.  Fire is around him. He
splashes into the lake.  He sinks beneath the water.

EXT. DUDDLEY BOAT - DAY

Focus on the horror on the faces of Victor Duddley, Judy
Duddley, and Leroy Bare.

EXT. HEARTHVILLE BEACH - DAY

Ellen Duddley jumps up from her chair dropping Victor's book
back into the chair.  The chair folds and falls over.
Victor's books sticks up from the fallen folding chair.
Ellen runs toward the lake and into the lake.

The camera whirls around to show everyone on the beach
staring at the horror before them.  And the camera whirls to
show the Wilcox boat burning.

EXT. DUDDLEY BOAT - DAY

VICTOR DUDDLEY points.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
I see splashing.  We've got to go
          save them.

JUDY DUDDLEY stands and pats her brother on the back.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          I don't see anything. I don't see
          how anyone could have survived.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          They did.  I see splashing.

LEROY BARE falls over where he is seated. Judy Duddley
examines him.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          He is passed out.

Victor turns and sees the astral body of Leroy emerge from
his body.  In ghostly form he walks up to Victor.  He
whispers to Victor.

                      LEROY BARE
I will do what I can on this side.
You do what you can on that side.
If they are dead, I must try to
          prevent them from being caged.

In astral form, Leroy begins running across the water.  He
is waving and screaming.

                      LEROY BARE
Do not go into the light.  Do not
go into the light.  It is a trap.
          Move toward the shadows.

Leroy Bare sees the ghosts of PROFESSOR WILCOX, MINI WILCOX,
walking on the water to him from the burning boat.  Then he
sees the ghost of  BACHUS WILCOX swimming toward him.

                      LEROY BARE
I am going to put you in my cage to
protect you from their cages.  I
have to get back to my body.  Do
          you three understand.

                      MINI WILCOX
I don't know.  My instinct says we
          should avoid all cages.

                      LEROY BARE
Don't worry.  I will free you in
          Whitehead and Baretown.  I am
pretty sure that you will be
          accepted there.

                      PROFESSOR WILCOX
I have been there before.  I trust
          you Leroy.

                      BACHUS WILCOX
I think a demon has taken my body,
a monstrous demon.  And my burned
          body is so hideous now.

Leroy holds up a small  bottle.  Go into the cage where I
can better protect you.  The three of them turn into a smoke
form and go into the bottle.

EXT. DUDDLEY BOAT - DAY

LEROY BARE wakes his body up and stands.  JUDY BARE watches
him.  VICTOR BARE stops the boat short of the fire.  He sees
someone swimming toward shore. Leroy Bare waves his arms and
freezes Judy so she can't hear what he is about to say.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
One of them toward shore.  I need
          to get to them.

                      LEROY BARE
All three of them are dead.  Bachus
says that a demon has taken control
          of his burnt body.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Do you have them where they will be
          safe from being caged?

                      LEROY BARE
I have them safe.  I am going to
          unfreeze Judy now.

Leroy waves his hands and unfreezes her.  He also reverses
her memory so that she does not remember him passing out.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          I have the weirdest feeling.
Didn't I see you pass out?

                      LEROY BARE
          No.  Don't be silly.  I didn't pass
out.  But gosh, hearing and seeing
that boat explode was horrible.  I
don't blame you for passing out.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          I did not pass out.

                      LEROY BARE
I am pretty sure you did.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
Did they survive the explosion and
          fire?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          No.  I don't think so.

                                             FADE IN:

EXT. BEACH - DAY

Police cars drive on to the beach with their lights
flashing. SOUND: Police Sirens.  DANIEL BARE gets out of one
of the police cars.  He looks around.  He motions for ARTHUR
RAMSEY, STEED RAMSEY, and ALICE MALOKEY to walk up to them
from where they are standing with a crowd at the shoreline.

                      DANIEL BARE
We have several reports of a boat
          exploding.

                      ARTHUR RAMSEY
Yeah.  I don't know who was on the
          boat.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
Victor Duddley had pulled up near
to the boat shortly before the
          explosion.

                      DANIEL BARE
Do you think Victor had anything to
          do with the explosion?

                      STEED RAMSEY
          No.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
The real Victor has been caged.  We
don't know who this Victor is.  He
          could be a demon.

                      STEED RAMSEY
          Victor had alters.  The
          conspirators could not cage the
alters.  So I think Victor is
          basically the personality that is
made up of one or more alters.

                      ARTHUR RAMSEY
          But Alice could be right.
          Especially given what just happened
out there on the lake.  Victor
          could be a demon.

                      STEED RAMSEY
          I don't think so.

                      DANIEL BARE
I don't know what to do.  What if
          this murder has been sanctioned?

                      ALICE MALOKEY
We don't know who was killed yet.
But what if it was sanctioned by
          the Space Alien Witch Council?
What if it was sanctioned by the
          newly formed Earth Witch Council?
What if it was sanctioned by the
          League of Satan and Belial?

                      DANIEL BARE
Exactly.  I do not want to cross
          any of them.

                      ARTHUR RAMSEY
                (nods)
We need to find out who was on the
boat that exploded and  also on
          Victor's boat.

EXT. HEARTHVILLE LAKE - DAY

A red, burnt creature is shown swimming toward the Hotville
side of the lake. As the creature reaches a swampy area it
crawls from the lake into the murky swamp. Its eyes are as a
burning fire.  Its teeth are white, looking more so from the
mouth of burnt flesh.

CAMERA MOVES DOWN FROM HEAD, DOWN ARM, AND FOCUSES ON THE
FINGERS OF THE CREATURE.

The fingers look like fingers but then they begin to
transform.  Each finger changes into a hissing snake that
has small but scary looking fangs. The creature begins to
walk with his fingers touching growth in the swamp to push
the growth out of his way.  Then one of his hand of snakes
touches a bent, leaning, rusty sign that reads, WELCOME TO
HOTVILLE. POPULATION 30,000.

EXT. DUDDLEY BOAT AND DOCK  - DAY

VICTOR DUDDLEY jumps from the boat, onto the dock, and
begins tying the boat. LEROY BARE helps JUDY DUDDLEY from
the boat.  Their eyes meet and then they both quickly look
away.  Still Leroy, continues to help Judy from the boat.
ELLEN DUDDEY walks down the dock to where Victor is securing
the boat.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
What the hell happened out there.?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          The boat of Professor Wilcox
          exploded.  Professor Wilox, Mini
Wilcox, and their son Bachus were
          killed.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
Oh my God.  What caused the
          explosion.

                      LEROY BARE
My guess is that a bomb was planted
          on the boat.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
          Murdered?

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
I would guess.  Dad blamed the
explosion in the lab on chemicals
but Professor Wilcox said he was
not using any chemicals that should
have caused an explosion. He talked
to us.  He got back on his boat.
          We went our ways.
                (screams in tears)
And then there is the explosion.
And he and his family are dead.

Ellen Duddley hugs her daughter and looks over Judy's
shoulder to look at Leroy Bare.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
What is this world coming to?

                      LEROY BARE
Something none of us ever wanted to
          see, but here it is.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          What?

                      LEROY BARE
          Satan.  Belial.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          You are talking crazy.

                      LEROY BARE
I know.  But out there on the lake
you also looked into the fires of
hell.  An awful murder.  Do you
          feel sane?

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
No.  I feel like I am in a
nightmare.  Have I always been in a
nightmare and I am just now
          realizing it.  Victor.  How many
times when you are having one of
your episodes have you said that
this has to be a dream.  I now know
          what you mean.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
Victor, I left your book in my
chair on the beach.  I don't think
          I should have done that.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
It is okay.  If it gets lost I have
copies and I can make more copies.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
          What if someone reads it?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
It is just a story.  No one is
going to believe it.  You don't
          believe it.  Do you?

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
I don't know what to believe but I
think, no matter how crazy it
          sounds, Leroy spoke the truth.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          I don't understand.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
There is an evil taking control of
earth.  The balance of power has
shifted while God sleeps and Jesus
sits on his wall, not knowing what
          to do.

ALICE MALOKEY walks out on the dock and toward where
everyone is standing.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Never underestimate Jesus.  He is
not that sad hebrew pansy in the
bible who allowed himself to be
crucified.  He is a Hercules of a
man who has endured much and has
had to lick his wounds but he has
fought satan before and won.  He
          will win again.

Alice Malokey smiles.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
Such hopeful words that for a
second I felt hope.  If only I
          could trust your words.

                      LEROY BARE
You can trust his words.  You can
also trust that Jesus has an army
of men and women who are ready to
fight for him and to fight for
          earth.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
But does that army even know that
there are real battles and real
dangers. Are they so blinded by
that Hebrew story they can't ever
know the real Jesus, that Hercules
of a man. Are they so brainwashed
as a death cult, that they are so
wanting for the world to end, that
they think surrendering to evil is
          their road to salvation.

                      LEROY BARE
When Hercules comes, they will know
that he is part of a living God,
that his power comes from a living
earth, and only if earth can be
saved can there be any salvation.

SABIAN BLACKROCK appears out of no where.

                      SABIAN BLACKROCK
Such words.  Pure fiction.  How can
such a sinful young man speak such
          words with a straight face?

                      LEROY BARE
          Why are you here?

                      SABIAN BLACKROCK
My grandson is missing.  I need
          help.

                      LEROY BARE
          From whom?

                      SABIAN BLACKROCK
I am desperate.  I need Alice
          Malokey to help me.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
I have got to be dreaming.  This
has got to be a dream.

Sabian suddenly notices Victor Duddley.  They stare at one
another.

                      SABIAN BLACKROCK
          What the hell?

                      ALICE MALOKEY
Exactly. And that is the reason
that I am not helping you.

                      SABIAN BLACKROCK
          I am confused.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
Yeah.  You can stay confused.  Get
          the hell away from me.

Sabian Blackrock vanishes.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
I know I sounded heartless just
then but I couldn't help him find
Winston even if I wanted to help
him.  I have people looking for
Rabbit and Winston but don't tell
          him that.

                      JUDY DUDDLEY
          Is this real?

                      ALICE MALOKEY
It is best if you just pretend that
it isn't real.  That way they might
          not erase your memory.

                      ELLEN DUDDLEY
          We will pretend.

Alice Malokey smiles.  She then vanishes.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Leroy, take my mother and sister
home.  I will pretend I was the
only one on the boat.  I expect
Daniel Bare will be coming to speak
          to me fairly shortly.

                      LEROY BARE
          I will take them home.

EXT. HOTVILLE SWAMP - DAY

The burnt monster, the demon, dives into the murky, muddy,
swamp water and begins to swim.  An alligator quickly moves
to get out of the water.  Chirping birds begin to screech
and flap their wings.

EXT. DOCK - DAY

SOUND: Sirens.  Flashing lights. Three police cars pull to
the end of the dock. DANIEL BARE exits one of the police
cars.  VICTOR DUDDLEY is standing alone. Judy, Leroy, Ellen
are no where to be seen as the CAMERA moving about reveals.

                      DANIEL BARE
          We need information.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          I will give a statement.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Whose boat exploded?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Professor Wilcox, Mini Wilcox, and
their son Bachus were on the boat.
          They didn't survive.

                      DANIEL BARE
Did you have anything to do with
          the explosion?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
No.  You know about the explosion
in the lab of Professor Wilcox  at
          Hearthville college. Right?

                      DANIEL BARE
Your father said that it was caused
          by an eccentric Professor mixing
the wrong chemicals.  He said it
was just an ordinary accident and
we didn't need to investigate.  We
were not given the name of the
          Professor involved.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
My father didn't think there was
          any foul play involved.  He
          reported what he believed.

                      DANIEL BARE
What did you and Professor Wilcox
talk about when your boats were
          approximate to one another?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Professor Wilcox was afraid he was
going to be fired.  And I was going
to try to talk my father out of
firing him but if he was fired, I
          was going to hire him.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Did you consider Professor Wilcox
          smart?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Very.  He had a very brilliant
          mind.

                      DANIEL BARE
          What was he working on?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Something Satan and Belial would
not like, a cure for covid.

                      DANIEL BARE
Leroy has already done that, hasn't
          he?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          You know my situation.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Not really.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
I am an alter.  I am George.
Victor has been caged but I wasn't.

                      DANIEL BARE
Leroy was on the boat with you.
          Wasn't he?  Someone reported that
Judy and Leroy were with you when
          you got on the boat.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
They are mistaken. I was on the
boat alone.  Leroy and Judy were
going to go out with me but then
          they did not.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Do you trust Leroy?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
I trust Leroy.  I trust you.

                      DANIEL BARE
Do you think trying to protect my
cousin Leroy will earn you any
          brownie points with me?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          I don't really give a flying fuck
about you.  Why should I want to
earn your  brownie points?  I am
          pretty sure Victor hates you.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Why does he hate me?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          I am sure I don't know.

Other policemen walk up. Daniel motions for them to turn
around return to the police cars.

                      DANIEL BARE
          The explosion was accidental.  An
accident with a gas can.  That is
the way we will write it up.

After the policemen walk off Daniel Bare gets in the face of
Victor Duddley.

                      DANIEL BARE
That is the way we write it up for
the humans.  But do not be shocked
          if someone sanctions your murder.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
I am not as smart as Victor. And I
don't have his magic powers.  But I
          am quite capable of sanctioning
murders all on my own.  Don't fuck
          with me.

Daniel Bare pushes Victor away from him.

                      DANIEL BARE
And you don't fuck with me.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
So I guess you and I will not be
          having any homosexual sex.

                      DANIEL BARE
          You sound disappointed.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
          Aren't you married now?

                      DANIEL BARE
          It is an open marriage.

SOUND: Daniel Bare's phone.  He answers.  He turns it to
speaker.

                      DANIEL BARE
How is the search and rescue going?

                      OFFICER RIOT
          We've recovered two badly burned
          but intact bodies.

                      DANIEL BARE
There is a third.  Name again?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Bachus Wilcox.  But you will not
          find his body.

                      DANIEL BARE
I thought you said there were no
          survivors.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
A demon has taken over the body of
          Bachus.

                      OFFICER RIOT
What has your witness there been
          smoking?

                      DANIEL BARE
Office Riot, put Officer Carney on
the phone and you walk away.

                      OFFICER RIOT
          Seriously.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Do as I say.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
Do you want me to make the calls to
          get Monster Hunters involved.

                      DANIEL BARE
Other than you, do we have any
          others on the force?

                      OFFICER CARNEY
          No.  Mallory quit when Sabian
Blackrock was put over the Hunter
          Division for the Witches Council.

                      DANIEL BARE
Sabian Blackrock is now in charge
of the hunters.  Son of a bitch.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
I considered quiting.  But what are
we going to do.  Our police force
is not set up to handle demons and
          other monsters.

                      DANIEL BARE
We may have to establish our Hunter
Unit.  I don't want to deal with
          Sabian Blackrock on anything.
Alice Malokey, if you can hear me,
          get back here.

Alice Malokey appears.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Were you listening.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
I was listening. I will call my
husband and son, who are hunters,
to work with you independent of the
Witches Council.  But I will tell
you that the three of us may end up
          having to leave earth.

Turns and looks at Victor.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
I know you are not Victor and you
say you are an alter.  Can you help
          us?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Money wise.  Yeah.  But I don't
          have magical powers. Author Ramsey
and Steed should be brought on
board if they will agree.  I will
definitely help but I need your
help to get some people uncaged.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
Well sure but that is easier said
than done and when we uncage the
real Victor, I suspect all hell
          will break lose.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
I am pretty sure all hell has
          already broken lose.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
Okay.  Let me see if I can recruit
my husband and son.  Are you all
going to bring Quentin Darko into
          this?  They don't like Quentin.

                      DANIEL BARE
He is not my favorite person
          either.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
But I think he is going to have to
be brought in to what we are doing.
If we don't have the Space Alien
Witch Council on our side, we are
going to need the Earth Witch
          Council and he runs that.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
That is going to be a sticking
point.  And maybe it would be
          better if they remained completely
on the inside with the Witches
          Council.

                      DANIEL BARE
          They are earth witches.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
My husband Phil Clyde is an earth
witch.  My son Stephen is my son
and I am from the planet Malokey.

                      DANIEL BARE
But my point is, how can earth
witches continue to be hunters for
a Witches Council that is now all
          Space Alien Witches because the
earth witches have all been purged.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
Understood.  But I will repeat my
husband and son do not like Quentin
          Darko.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Okay.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
          I will talk to them.  I don't
really know if they will be on
board to be hunters where they
might have to answer to Quentin.

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
They will not have to answer to
Quentin.  They will not have to
have anything to do with Quentin.
                (laughs)
You will have to deal with Quentin
and then you will have to deal with
          your husband and son.

                       ALICE MALOKEY
Oh, gee, thanks.  Why would you
think I would want to deal with
          Quentin?

                      VICTOR DUDDLEY
Because our ultimate goal is to
send Satan and Belial back to hell,
          remove Sabian Blackrock from power,
and give earth some level of
          freedom again.  The monsters can
          not be left in control.

                      ALICE MALOKEY
I think I might easily forget that
you are not the real Victor. If
there are any arguments from my
husband and son, I will convince
them to work with you all.

                      DANIEL BARE
          Good.

EXT. HEARTHVILLE LAKE, BOATS - DAY

Three boats surround the burning Wilcox boat. The burnt
bodies of Professor Wilcox and Mini Wilcox are load out on
the deck of one of the boats.  Two of the boats are hosing
the burning boat down.

                      OFFICER RIOT
                (looking down at the
                 bodies)
There is something weird here.  And
not just what I heard of the phone
when I was talking to Daniel.  I
made the joke Victor Duddley was
smoking weed, but now I have me the
          shivers.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
Burned victims are an awful sight.

                      OFFICER RIOT
                (points to the burning
                 boat)
          There was an explosion right.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
          Yeah.

                      OFFICER RIOT
The boat did not sink.  And it is
          still burning.  We have been
putting water on it, and it is
still burning.  And it has not
sank.  It has not sank.  Let me
repeat.  It has not sank.  Don't
you think it should have sank.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
Are you going to cause Daniel
problems on the way he told me to
          write the report up.

                      OFFICER RIOT
I am a team player. I will do what
you tell me to do.  I need this
job.  I have already be fired in
two cities.  I don't even know why
          Daniel hired me.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
I may let you learn some things on
this case.  And you may hear me say
some things that will blow your
          mind.

                      OFFICER RIOT
I am thinking my mind mind is
          already blown.

A couple of officers in diving suits climb aboard the boat
where the bodies are.  They start pulling their diving suits
off.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
We saw no sign of a third body.

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
We saw no sign of Bachus Wilcox.
Do you he and I used to play pool.
I first thought he was queer.  He
was the first time I heard the word
          INCEL.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
I know how you teased him.

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
I liked him.  He was a good guy.
          Look at his parents.  God.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
You two don't start crying like a
          bunch of pansy homosexuals.

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
          Suck my dick.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
                (laughs)
          In your dreams.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
So what happened here?  That boat
is still burning.  And why can't we
find the body of of Bachus.  Are we
sure that he was on the boat?

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
I hope he is still alive.

                      OFFICER RIOT
          According to Victor Duddley, a
demon has taken control of the body
of Bachus.  I thought he had been
smoking weed when I heard him say
          that.

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
You think a demon caused the
explosion and fire and is the
reason the boat is still burning
and has not sunk.  Do you think
there are demons around us right
          now.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
I would say you all are crazy but
that boat is still burning and it
          has not sank.  The explosion,
described by the people on shore,
          should have obliterated the boat.
                (looks around with a
                 scared look on his face)
Are there really such a thing as
          demons?

                      OFFICER CARNEY
There is such a thing.  And boys,
if you keep an open mind, I am
going to ask Daniel to bring you
into something you are not going to
want to believe.  Boys, you are
about to become what is called
          Hunters.

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
          Hunters? What?

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
Why are we talking about hunting
          animals like deer now?

                      OFFICER CARNEY
          Not deer.  Monsters.  Things that
go bump in the night.  Demons,
          Rogue vampires, witches who have
broken the rules, and humans who
          practice the dark arts.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
Okay.  Okay. Okay.  Let us back up.
Let us put this damn car in
          reverse.  This case.  Right now.
          What are we up against.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
We have reason to believe that a
demon has taken control of the dead
body of Bachus.  We have reason to
          believe that the demon actually
          caused the explosion and fire.
Although demons can act on their
own, they are usually directed by
          magic spells.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
So a witch is behind this?

                      OFFICER CARNEY
Could be?  But it could also be a
human practicing the black arts and
          calling themself a witch.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
You have me confused.  Isn't anyone
          who practices magic a witch?

                      OFFICER CARNEY
          There are space alien witches.
There are earth witches.  And there
          are human witches.  Human witches
are the least powerful and have to
          use alliances with other
          supernatural forces to exact a
spell.  An earth witch is in their
self a supernatural force and can
bend reality all on their own.  At
times their magic does ping.  It
doesn't work.  And then they may
          call on other supernatural forces.
The same is true of space alien
          witches.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
Alright.  Putting the car back into
drive.  So you are saying that we
are going to be hunting both a
demon and a witch of some kind.
The witch is someone with a motive
to want Professor Wilcox and his
          family dead.

                      OFFICER RIOT
So this witch that we will be
hunting, can they turn us into
          frogs?

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
Given that boat there, I would be
more scared of them exploding our
car or our house.  How do we
          protect ourselves?  We aren't
          wishes.  Officer Carney, are you?

                      OFFICER CARNEY
No.  But there will be witches who
will be part of the Hunter Group
that we are forming.  And they will
provide you all with charms and
such so that you can use human
          magic to protect you.

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
Why are you bringing us into this?
Shouldn't the Hunter Group just be
          made up of witches?

                      OFFICER CARNEY
You are the eyes and ears on the
          ground.  You are policemen.  You
will be called into cases that may
          or may not have supernatural
          elements involved.  Right now you
are involved in case that involves
the supernatural and I want you to
understand that.  I want you to be
able to work with the earth witches
on this case.  You saw what
happened here first hand. You are
          the first investigators on this
case.  But if any of you want to
walk away from this case, that is
          fine.  It is understandable.  Now
tell me, who is in and who is out.

                      OFFICER RIOT
          I am in.

                      OFFICER CLOONEY
          I am in.

                      OFFICER RICHARDS
          I am in.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
          So we are all in.

                      OFFICER RIOT
          Deep shit.

                      OFFICER CARNEY
          Yeah.
                (calls Daniel on phone)
So Daniel.  Here is the deal.  The
boat is still burning.  It has not
          sank.  There is definitely some
          supernatural stuff going.  And I
          have just recruited four police
officers to be part of our Hunter
          Group.

EXT. INSIDE DANIEL'S DETECTIVE CAR - DAY

DANIEL BARE is holding the phone to his ear while he is
driving. Okay.

                      DANIEL BARE
Good deal.  We will have a meeting
at 3:00 PM in my office.  I will
have Victor Duddley there with me.
I can't decide for sure whether he
is a suspect or whether he will be
          helping us.

Jossette (Nette) says, “I do.”

Elliot shakes his head and says, “Sure you do. Lying bitch.”

Quentin says, “I will check around. Maybe I can figure out how to contact him.”

“I need a spell that will cloak us while I fly through the fires of hell so as to reach the Outlands.”

“What spaceship are you calling from? My system shows it is a spaceship but it can not identify which spaceship.”

Elliot laughs. “You know what spaceship it is. Use your god damn brain you fucking asshole.”

“You are flying the tanker that Victor stole from Sabian Blackrock when he was ten. Are you insane?”

“Hell yeah. We all are. It is a trip, baby. It is a trip. Start enjoying the ride.

“Oh my God. I remember why I came to hate you so much.”

“Hate me all you want. Make contact with Merlin and King Arthur.”

“I will try.”

Jossette says, “I do know how to contact them. Tiffany Lane is an incarnation of Guinevere.”

Elliot says, “So. Just because she is his wife doesn’t mean she knows how to contact him. I doubt her memory is intact.”

“Although Guinevere asked King Arthur to not watch her every move as Tiffany, he does have people to watch her so that if she is about to die and return to Camelot then he will know. If you go to Tiffany in astral form and call out to King Arthur what is going on, then he might get the message. Now I’ve told you this without asking anything in return, but please let me and Barnabus out of this god damn cage.”

“I don’t trust you.”

“I don’t blame you. I fucked up.”

“Will you release the real Jossette?”

“I can’t. You know can’t. I am the real Jossette.”

“Do you really believe that?”

“Why shouldn’t I?”

“Oh my God. You are crazy as a squirrel trying to the cross the road.”

“I am pretty sure you are the one who is crazy. But we’ve got to save Victor so I will not hold it against you.”

“Yeah, bitch, mighty gracious. Okay, so I will go find Tiffany.”

Arthur says, “Steed told me that that Tiffany has been real sick. She is at Leroy Bare’s house. Leroy has been frantic to find a cure. I have not heard from Steed lately so I don’t even know if she is still alive.”

“God damn. Let us pray she is. Hell. Let us pray that Leroy has been able to find a cure. If she has had the same sickness as the Otherside Sleeping Sickness that would solve some problems.”

Elliot reaches a point above Leroy’s home. “Okay Arthur, I am going to trust you to not fuck with me. In other words, don’t leave without me. Joesion, you beam down with me to Leroy’s home.”

“Okay. No problem.”

So they beam down into the living room of Leroy’s home. Everyone in that living rooms sees Elliot and Joesion appear from thin air. Ellen stares at her husband. She is confused.

Ellen says, “Elliot! What?”

Elliot says, “Think. You can remember just as I’ve remembered.”

“Remember what? I feel so confused. Am I dreaming?” The room begins to fade. “What is happening? I must be dreaming.”

Ellen hears a voice. It is distant at first. She can barely hear the voice. It is Victor’s voice. “Mom. Don’t worry about me. Being dead isn’t bad.”

Ellen cries. “Victor, you can’t be dead. Please don’t be dead.”

And Ellen hears another voice. “Mom. Are you coming out of it. Please be coming out.” She recognizes the voice as Judy’s voice. Her daughter’s voice. “Please wake up.”

Then Ellen hears Elliot’s voice. “Nurse. Nurse. Get the doctor. I think Ellen is coming out of the coma.”

A male nurse comes into the room and then leaves the room.

“Coma?” Ellen opens her eyes. She stares at Elliot, Stewart, and Judy. She looks for Victor. “Where is Victor?”

Elliot takes Ellen’s hand. “I don’t know how to tell you.”

Ellen cries, “Please don’t tell me that Victor is dead. I beg you. It can’t be true. He can’t be dead.”

Elliot says, “On your phone it showed that Victor had called you. My phone showed that he had tried to call me, but I had misplaced my phone when he had been trying to call.”

“I drove to the Smith Junkyard and I yelled out for Victor. He heard me. He started screaming, ‘Mama, Mama.” And I followed the sound. He was in the boot of an old car. I found a set of keys laying on the ground. I reached down to pick the keys up and I heard a noise. Then something hit hard against my head.”

“Sam Smith found you laying there. You were unconscious. You’ve been in a coma for going on a month.”

“And Victor.”

“Victor was found dead in the boot of the car. We don’t know how he had ended up there. We don’t know who hit you over the head. Before he was put in the boot of the car, he had already been badly beaten. Did he tell you who had done that to him.”

“No. He told me that I couldn’t trust the police but he didn’t say they are the ones who did it to him. He didn’t know he was dying. I didn’t know he was dying. Oh my God. My baby’s dead. He told me not to call 911 but I should have. I should have.”

Stewart says, “So someone in the police department did that to him.”

Elliot says, “We don’t know that.”

Judy says, “We know he didn’t call 911. We know he told mom not to call 911.”

Elliot says, “Victor didn’t know he was dying. He could have been involved in something illegal and that is why he did not want the police brought in to it.”

The male nurse walks back into the room. “The doctor will be here soon.”

“My son was not a criminal.” There is silence.

Ellen stares at the male nurse. “Leroy Bare?”

Leroy shakes his head no.

Then Ellen says, “I had such weird dreams. There were human witches and space alien witches and Victor was like a god of some kind. And he was trying to save the world. At the same time he was messed up. He had an alter called George and there was Caelous. Such weird dreams.”

Leroy smiles a strange smile and does his eyes weird.

Stewart smiles. “That sounds like something Victor would have written. He loved to write. He would write some weird shit though. I tell you what. Weird stuff.”

Judy nods. “It wasn’t all weird. I liked his character Jossette and also Steed.” Judy tries to fight back her tears. She starts crying. She runs from the hospital room as the doctor enters.

The doctor asks Ellen’s family to leave the room. He closes the door. Leroy freezes the doctor and walks over to talk to Ellen. “I don’t know how much of this you will understand. Maybe none of it.”

“You are Leroy Bare?”

“I am. We lost.”

“What do you mean, we lost?”

“Think about your dream. Belial has taken over. Many people have been caged. Not only have memories been changed but time itself has been changed. We lost. Many souls have been caged. Some are in the sleep. We lost.”

“And Victor?”

“He fell into the sleep. Captain Crayon, Carp, and Dresden did their best to save them but they just managed to escape being caged themselves. I talked to Merlin and King Arthur and they told me what Dresden had told them as well as explained what Belial had done. Victor isn’t dead. There is no death. But he is in the sleep and he has been caged.”

“This does not make any sense to me.”

“Remember your dream.”

“It is so confusing.”

“There was an event in Victor’s past that was greatly altered and moved to the future.”

“Who killed Victor?”

“The event is a total fabrication from a much earlier event. If you want to say anyone killed Victor, which is misleading in that there is no death, I would say Belial. Now I am going to unfreeze the doctor and I am going to leave. You may or may not remember me telling you any of this, but I wanted you to know. The dreams you dreamed while in the coma are more than dreams. They are as real as the air you breathe and the life you live.”

Ellen nods. “The dreams are a part of who Victor was and is and I will never forget my beautiful son, Victor.”

The doctor becomes unfrozen.

Ellen feels weird as she hears a sudden silence that would be loud if but it had a sound. She watches the doctor vanish into thin air and she interrupts that weird, loud, silence with a desperate whimper. She moans, “What is happening?” Her eyes had felt agape, but now her eyes feel closed, shut. The deafening silence returns. She desperately fights to open her eyes but they feel glued, sealed. They are so tightly closed she thinks that she must be dead. She attempts to wiggle her fingers to prove to herself that she is not dead. She can not manage to move even one finger. The fear of death torments her and she imagines herself laying in an open pine box–butt naked. “Pine box? Naked? Those cheap skates,” she silently thinks. Then out of the haunting silence a peculiar noise grows. At first she thinks it is the most weird sound she has ever heard. Am I hearing a sound that comes with death? To no avail she continues her attempt to wiggle her fingers to prove to herself that she is not deceased. Then she realizes what the hideous sound is that is driving her to the point of near insanity. With her realization she considers that though it is an unpleasant sound, it is also the most amazing and glorious sound that she might ever hear. She is hearing the sound of herself snoring. Now she feels her fingers move as she wiggles each finger up and down.

Ellen feels a great comfort in the realization that she has not died. “I am not dead,” she says in her sleep.

Then she hears Victor’s voice. “Mom. Wake up. Wake up. What did you think of my story?”

Ellen opens her eyes and she stares with love at Victor. “Oh thank God, thank God. No one has murdered you.”

“No, neither of us is mortuus. What were you dreaming?”

She grabs Victor and hugs him. “I had such a terrible nightmare but I am awake now. Thank God I am awake now. Victor, please know that I love you. I am sorry we fought. Victor, I don’t care what Jossette’s Aunt Rachel says or her mom Terence says, you insist on talking to Jossette.”

“She won’t talk to me. Roger won’t talk to Stewart. I don’t know why but they seem to hate us.”

“Oh bullshit. Terence is lying to you. Talk to Jossette. Tell Stewart to talk to Roger. Stay friends. I am sorry to hell I went along with that crazy Rachel. Terence is probably sorry as well.”

Victor smiles as he continues to feel the loving embrace of his mom. “I love you mom.” He pulls out of the hug which feels to be lasting a little bit too long. “So what did you think of my story?”

Ellen looks over at the manuscript at her side. She picks it up and reads the last page. “Leroy knows the war has been lost and earth’s future will be grim until the gods awaken and free themselves from the cages. Until then, the future will seem hopeless but still, we must never lose hope. We must hope for a cure to free us from the evil and the sickness that is Belial. The End”

Ellen looks up at Victor. Was it all just a nightmare she’d had from reading Victor’s manuscript? Ellen knows the idea that any of it was real seems crazy but still, Ellen isn’t sure. Regardless, she knows she must believe it was Victor’s story that caused her to have one of the strangest dreams she’s ever had in her life. She knows she must believe that it was just a dream.

“So what did you think of my book?”

Ellen says, “I loved it. But I must tell you, it caused me to have one hell of a nightmare.”

“Sorry about that.”

“Can I keep this copy and read the story again?”

“Sure. I have other copies and it is on my computer. I am going to tell Stewart what you said about Jossette and Roger. If it is okay and he is agreed, we are going to drive to Atlanta to visit the Ogelby’s. We are going to insist on seeing them.”

“Good. Good. Just be careful.”

“We will be.”

“And also when talking to Terence, don’t throw in latin words in an attempt to sound smart. That is really irritating.”

“I don’t do that?”

“Mortuus. Seriously.”

“Oh. Sorry.”

Chapter / Episode List of the Heathville Serial

Captain Crayon makes sure that his men box and label all the communication equipment from the salvaged Sabian Blackrock tanker spaceship. Victor was going to try to use the equipment in an attempt to try to figure out how to communicate with people outside the Outlands. Captain Crayon is expecting Victor and some men to come to retrieve the equipment from Captain Crayon’s salvage yard.

Time passes.

Captain Crayon says to one of his men, “Something is not right. Victor should have already arrived.”

Captain Crayon gets on his radio. He sets the radio signal to communicate with a compound in the Second Iapetus, the Outland Iapetus. There is no answer.

Captain Crayon and 40 of his men board a Fighter Spaceship. Captain Crayon is not sure what to expect to find at the Outland Iapetus. When they arrive there does not appear to be any fighting. Everything appears quiet. Too quiet.

Captain Crayon sends probes down into the Outland Iapetus. The images he begins to receive from the probes are horrifying. Although it is not like in the physical world with decaying physical bodies, still there are astral bodies laying everywhere. There is no death in the metaphysical world. But there is what is called sleep, and every soul in the compound appears to be in that sleep.

Captain Crayon feels like crying but he knows he must be a man. He must hold it together. Still, he moans to his men. “I don’t know what to do. I do not know how to stop what has happened there from happening to us. If Victor and Iapetus could not stop this from happening, what chance do we stand.”

Rasputin nods. “Well. We know more than we did know. We know the long term symptom, sleeping, means that it is a sleeping virus. We know a sleeping virus was used during the Pluto Viso wars and ironically Amelia did have cures for most of the sleeping viruses.”

Captain Crayon asks, “Do you know where her data is hidden?”

“Merlin conjured the first cures for Amelia. But he is not currently in the Outlands. The last I heard he is in the Witch City.”

A man called Bibubba steps forward. “During the Pluto Viso Wars I was friends with a man by the name of Carp who worked in Merlin’s lab. He conjured the medicine that brought King Arthur out of his sleep. Carp may remember the chemical formula.”

Captain Crayon asks, “Is he in the Outlands? Where is he?”

Bibubba screams to a friend. “Yo Skelter, you and Carp took a vacation to Witch City last year together. Is he back in the Outlands?”

Skelter steps forward. “Yes. He is back in his Outland Realm, the Bismark Mountain.”

“Can you call him and explain the situation?”

Skelter looks at the images of the astral bodies laying everywhere. His eyes widened. “What is the situation? I will get Carp on the radio but Sir, Captain Crayon, you will have to talk to him.”

Captain Crayon says, “Get on the radio. I will explain.”

Skelter talks into a microphone. “Hey Carp, this is Skelter. Captain Crayon needs to talk to you. We may be in desperate need of your help.”

Carp replies. “Man. Man. This is as bad as the Pluto Viso Wars. I am hearing Belial has come out of hell into the Outlands and is looking to cage us all. We are too spread out. The armies are too divided. The Space Alien Witches are all so god damn stupid they are not going to stop him. We don’t stand a chance.” There is the sound of excitement and tears in his voice. “We are all going to be fucking caged.”

Captain Crayon takes the radio. “By God we are not caged yet. In the Pluto Viso Wars you worked in one of Merlin’s labs. Do you remember the chemical formula to cure the sleeping sickness?”

“Of course I do.”

“Can you make the cure?”

“Yeah. I can source the chemicals.” He screams to someone. “Clean my lab up. Pull up the file, the recipe, RZXCureSane. Get those chemicals into my lab.” He speaks back into the microphone. “How much of the medicine are we going to need?”

“The best I can tell everyone in the Outland Iapetus has fallen into the sleep including Iapetus and Victor. You know Caelous, Victor.”

“I know exactly who you are talking about. The god who sent Belial to hell. Shit. I can make enough for around 5,000 souls. Then I am going to have to go the Root Jungle to get more chemicals.”

A different man comes on the radio to speak to Captain Crayon. The man is named Dresden. He says, “Belial is probably already on his way to the Outland Iapetus to cage everyone there. You need to work as fast as you can to get those souls out of there. Do you understand?”

“I understand. But I am not set up for that. I salvage machines to make my money. I am just a lowly junker.”

Dresden says, “Look. I have figured out a spell where I can bypass the locks where I can talk to Merlin. I have not figured out how to communicate with anyone else outside the Outlands. Do you object to me telling him what is going on?”

“No. I don’t mind. That sounds like a good idea.”

“Even though Merlin is in Witch City and not in the Outlands, I would like for him to take command. Is that okay with you?”

“Fine.”

Dresden says, “And I will be second in command. You will be third. Regardless of what you say, I know you are more than a junker. I know your true history.”

“Okay.”

“And Carp will be in charge of making the meds.”

“Sounds good.”

“Now I am going to send some spaceships to help start gathering up the souls. I think I can get them there in ten minutes. My fighters will be a little bit longer. We need to clear the Outland Iapetus as fast as we can.”

“Okay. We will get started. And let us pray that we do not fall into the sleep before we even get started on the mission.”

“Right.” Dresden screams to Carp. “We need the inoculation med first.”

Carp screams back. “We had a supply of the inoculation from an issue we had earlier. Some of the men are already inoculated. We are already busy inoculating the rest. We will make sure Captain Crayon and his men have a supply. I am shipping by magic and not spaceship. Let us just hope my magic does not start pinging.”

Dresden screams to Captain Crayon. “Did you hear and understand that?”

“I did. And he worked fast. The boxes are already here.”

“Good. We don’t have much time to establish the resistance.”

Carp talks into the microphone. “Now the inoculation is not the same med as the cure and we still have to make the cure. Do not try giving the inoculation to anyone who has fallen into the sleep.”

“Understood.”

Dresden says, “My men are keeping a close eye on the radar. So far, we see no sign of an impending attack on the Outland Iapetus but we have to act the same as if there is an impending attack.”

“Okay. Let us keep our fingers crossed we can get Iapetus and Victor awake in time to fight Belial.”

“Yeah. Understood. You have got that right.”
