As A Writer My Thoughts on Pewdiepie’s Book Reviews

Short of it: I think his book reviews were interesting and helpful from a writer’s perspective to see what he liked and didn’t. Note that I have added his video to the bottom of this post.

DVD 1945 The Picture of Dorian Gray

DVD 1984- casts John Hurt and Suzanna Hamilton as lovers who must keep their courtship secret. Aside from criminalizing sex and interpersonal relationships, the ruling party in their country Oceania both fabricates reality and reconstructs history for the sake of oppressing the masses. They brainwash their citizens via large, propaganda-spewing TV monitors installed in their living rooms, which also inspect everyone’s activities. Hurt and Hamilton are among the few we see desperately trying to fight the system by keeping control of their thoughts and beliefs. While the atmosphere becomes a bit too stifling at times, the images are quite striking with their muted colors and dilapidated sets. In an interesting bit of casting, Richard Burton costars (in his final role) as a government agent who surreptitiously exposes Hurt to the ideas of resistance. Unlike many like-minded films, 1984 does not offer a flashy vision of the future, but then that aspect makes it feel all the more real.

Transcript: Note some errors!!
welcome to the mightymuddychuck channel
00:02
channel Iza Chuck, I was over at pewdiepie’s
00:05
channel and there was a video that he
00:08
did where he’d read five books and he
00:09
reviewed five books. If you are a
00:12
writer I would advise you to go watch
00:15
that video because it really gives you
00:19
insight into the way that a real person
00:21
looks at books while they’re reading
00:23
them and thinks back and judges the book
00:26
as opposed to some of the BS reviews
00:27
that you may see on Amazon he gives you
00:31
insight into the way a reader actually
00:34
delves into a book and thinks about the
00:37
book and considers what they’ve read I’m
00:40
not going to redo his reviews obviously
00:42
and I’m not going to put them in just
00:44
because you know I’m not going to I’m
00:48
not going to do that but when you get a
00:52
chance go over to his channel and then
00:54
look for the video that he did on book
00:56
reviews he read five books and in
00:59
some cases he compared the books and it
01:02
really will give you insight into how he
01:05
judges the book and why you as a writer
01:09
may not be connecting with your readers
01:12
or maybe why you are connecting with
01:14
your readers why you’re being successful
01:17
I just thought it was interesting from
01:19
from a writer’s perspective to see how
01:24
he was looking at the books and
01:25
considering the books and what he
01:26
considered good about the books and what
01:28
he considered bad about the books I
01:29
thought was interesting because so many
01:31
reviews that you read on Amazon they
01:33
really just they don’t come across as
01:35
real

About Youtube

I have unlisted all of my videos from the mightymuddychuck channel. If you were subscribed there understand that I do appreciate it but I felt it was time to unlist the videos from youtube. I have done it before and then changed my mind but I am pretty sure I am going to stick to it this time.

They allow unlisted videos to be hosted there and I feel that is the better option for me. The analytic of the channel is such that making videos public there, the videos are more likely to attract hate than people who either understand or appreciate what I am saying.

I am 60 years of age. I am Southern. I am not consistently conservative or liberal. I don’t confine my topics to this or that. So I understand some of the real hate but of course some of it is just bots trying to lift certain channels while they push other channels like mine down.

Some people try to push through the hate with what fans they can garner as they remind themselves that “youtube is the second largest search engine” after google itself. I think that is somewhat misleading. And as youtube has brought in leftist hate groups with the keys to youtube’s own bots to damage channels it all becomes even more problematic to having videos listed on youtube.

I think some of the videos might serve a purpose here but I realize some of them do have a “cringe” factor that I can’t blame on anyone but myself. 🙂 That just is what it is.

But the bottom line is I will never be able to monetize any of the videos on youtube. To the degree users might believe the videos have some value to them, ads or book sales here might at least profit me some money.

Much thanks.
Chuck
