Constance Bare sat on a bench on the boardwalk with the Hearthville Lake and docks behind her. In front of her was the Hearthville Saloon and the men tumbling out, wrestling, and throwing punches. She smiled a wicked smile as she looked at the many men who were fighting around her.

Victor and Deven were seated at a table on a side patio outside the Dockhere Ice Cream Shop a few businesses down from the Hearthville Saloon. From the patio they could not see the fighting that had begun on the boardwalk. They sat innocently sucking thick, delicious, strawberry milkshake up through the large straws that stuck down in the clear cups. As they enjoyed their milkshakes they did mathematical equations on their computer tablets, attempting to solve an engineering issue for a automotive product Victor was designing.

The sky was blue but for a few clouds. The sun was bright. The colorful birds that had been perched about took flight as the fighting intensified.

Leroy felt a punch in his mouth. He felt a fist pound his nose. Someone kicked him in the balls. Various men moved in and out around him. One blow followed another. Leroy screamed, “Mom stop this!” He felt certain that she was the one who had cast a spell that had started the fighting. She had earlier mentioned to him that if she could have the Hearthville Saloon shut down as a public nuisance that would help their planned business. Until now, he had not taken her comment very seriously.

The fighting continued.

Stewart, Harry, and Diane stood outside the area where the fighting was happening.

Sirens could be heard coming toward the boardwalk.

When Victor and Deven heard the sirens, they paid attention to the the raised voices of the men who were fighting. They put their tablets into their holsters and left the patio to see what was happening.

Deven shook his head. “What the hell!”

Then Victor and Deven looked to where Stewart, Harry, and Diane stood. Deven focused on Diane and knew that she was Dioson. Deven knew that Dioson as Diane had been in the camper that Leroy had blown up. Deven said, “Fuck hell. From what Leroy said that woman is Dioson in drag and he is standing with Stewart and Harry. What the hell is Dioson planning?”

From where they stood, Stewart and Harry watched the fighting in disbelief. Diane felt entertained.

Stewart exclaimed, “What the freaking fuck! I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

Harry agreed. “Me neither.”

Diane laughed. “I love a good fight.” Diane started walking toward the battle zone. “My, my, who would have thought Hearthville was populated with such angry, beastly men. It is enough to give a woman an erection.”

Stewart and Harry looked at one another. “An erection?” They stood still. They did not follow Diane.

Leroy saw that Patrick had been grabbed up by two men. They were carrying him toward the docks where houseboats were anchored. Leroy again screamed, “Mom. Stop this.”

She laughed and shook her head no.

Then Leroy saw Diane walking toward him. Leroy screamed, “Oh fuck. Mom. That woman is Dioson.” Someone punched Leroy in the stomach. Leroy threw a punch to hit the attacking man in the jaw and then quickly followed to punch the man on the opposite side of his face.

The man fell down to hit against the weathered wood on the walkway. He landed hard with a thud. Laying there on his back he saw imaginary birds flying around his head like he was suddenly in a cartoon. Partially sitting up and rubbing his jaw, the man timidly peeped up at Leroy. He sputtered, “But you are so much smaller than me.”

Leroy offered the man a hand to help him up from where he lay. The man took Leroy’s kind hand and pulled himself up. Leroy patted the man on the back. The man took Leroy’s other hand and gladfully grasped it with a firm shake. “Sorry.”

Leroy looked at his mom. “Yeah. Me too.”

The man walked away.

Deven and Victor watched Leroy and had heard his pleas to his mom. They saw Dioson, still morphed as Diane, walking toward Leroy.

The two men carrying Patrick walked past Diane/Dioson. They walked toward where Harry and Stewart were standing.

Diane screamed to Leroy. “You blew up my camper. You almost killed me.”

Leroy screamed, “Yeah. But still, there you are. You are worse than a bad penny.”

Diane laughed. “I might could forgive you. You could convince me.”

Leroy laughed. “You can’t begin to imagine how little your forgiveness would mean to me.”

In a more stern tone Diane said, “You do know that if I can’t forgive you, then I will have to kill you.”

A spaceship flew in that only the witches could see. A voice came on the intercom that only the witches could hear. “Clear this area. Clear this area at once. In five minutes we will begin making arrests.”

Victor and Deven saw the spaceship. They heard the command to clear the area. Victor said, “This has to be a dream. This can’t be real. This is a dream.”

Deven agreed. “But is it your dream or is it my dream?”

George whispered, “Yes. Victor. It is a dream. That is what it is.”

Constance Bare frowned. “Oh shit. She quickly cast away her own spell and vanished. But invisible in the wind and the ether her magic pinged and there was a force that pulled at her.

Other witches began to vanish but the humans continued to fight.

Leroy and Diane came face to face, lip to lip, nose to nose, groin to groin. They both raised themselves into the ether and witched mighty swords that they held heavy in their fist. Their muscles flexed.

Diane/Dison witched himself from his feminine design to appear back as Dioson with his loins girded, wrapped in white cloth. He was ready for war. He clinched his teeth like a dog growling. But still, he hesitated from attacking Leroy.

Victor and Deven both continued seeing Leroy and Dioson even as they had moved into the ether. To Victor and Deven the world seemed surreal, cockeyed. Colors reflected off items brighter than normal and they smelled aromas with such intensity there was a taste. Sounds were up and down, loud and hushed. Victor and Deven felt scared and dizzy. They swooned.

The spaceship continued to hover above them.

George knew that Victor could not process what he was seeing. George took over. He grabbed Deven’s hand and George took Deven with him deeper into the ether to follow Leroy and Dioson. The world behind them faded with each step.

Leroy turned as he felt something at his back. He smiled to see Victor and Leroy standing behind him. He witched swords into their hands.

They began to spin as a whirlwind. Bright and beautiful colors flared from their now naked, masculine bodies. Leroy witched a spell to gird their loins in heavy metal jock straps even as they flew through the air.

Deven asked Victor/George, “Are we dead?”

George said, “Not yet. But the day is not over.”

Then the four them crashed down to a strange ground. A red dinosaur scampered away from them as it screamed, “I am not fossil fuel.”

At their backs was a huge marble wall, with swinging clanky iron gates. On each side of the gates were giant lit torches. The flames scorched high and bright with orange and red and blue colors of fire. Wind blew white smoke into the air. Behind the torches were carved images. On the left was Iapetus and on the right was Atlas. Iapetus held a speer as he posed might and strong. Atlas held the world, earth and the heavens, on his shoulders as he partially knelt and pulled at chains strained and nearly breaking. Across the wall and above the gates were red roses blooming from a great vine with large thorns. The vine partially hid the wall and partially hid the carved images of the gods who had seen better days. Inside the gates was a fountain. In the center of the fountain was the statue of two balls and a large penis that shot white liquid every 30 seconds.

In the sky two hawks circled above them. Suddenly the symbol of a hawk appeared on the metal jock straps of the three men: Leroy, Deven, and George. The powerful hawks squealed and flew fast as they disappeared beyond the blue horizon.

A huge ape pounded his chest with a thunderous scream. He then shrugged and did a soft shoe dance as he walked away.

The image of an ape appeared on the white wrapped cloth that girded Dioson’s dick and balls. Constance appeared next to Dioson and she put her arm across his shoulder and pulled him close. “You don’t want to do this. Understand the indifference of the ape.”

Dioson said, “I have to do this. Deven killed my brother. Leroy hired me and then betrayed me. They both have to die.”

Constance backed away from Dioson. She witched a sword into her hand and she dressed herself in a leopard skin garb that fitted tightly around her body. She was a sexy woman. She was a dangerous woman.

George asked Dioson, “And me?”

“Dead or alive, I will hand you over to Sabian so he can make you his bitch.”

Invisible to everyone, Nanny Ogleby stood with them. She held her cage. She rubbed it. There was a look of anticipation on her wrinkled face.

With a sword in his hand, the ghost of Hannibal appeared and stood with his brother. He spoke. “Dioson, you do realize that you are outnumbered.”

“Victor and Deven do not have a clue on how to sword fight. Constance is not very good. Leroy is a joke. We will have them dead and caged before they even know what happened.”

Hannibal grabbed Dioson by his arm. He spoke into his brother’s ear. “I’ve seen Victor sword fight. He knows how to fight. Constance is good. She is very good. And Leroy is a wild pup. You never know how he is going to strike. You are going to lose. And Nanny Ogelby is standing there with a cage ready to trap us.”

Meanwhile…

Patrick fought against the men who continued carrying him toward their houseboat. Stewart and Harry jumped in front of the men.

Stewart said, “Let Patrick go.”

One of the men asked, “Who?”

Stewart said, “Patrick. The dude who you two are carrying like a swing between two trees.”

Harry said, “Let him go.”

One of the men asked, “Are you going to make us?”

Stewart said, “Yes. Yes we are.”

Harry made a disapproving, “oh really,” face but then nodded in agreement.

The men looked at Patrick and then asked each other, “What the fuck are we doing?”

They gently lay Patrick down and with an apologetic and embarrassed expression on their bewildered faces they walked off. Patrick looked up at Stewart and Harry. Patrick asked, “Would you have really fought those men to get me away from them?”

Stewart said, “Sure.”

Harry said, “Maybe.”

Patrick stood up. “Man. Harry. Stewart. Thanks. I am so sorry about earlier.”

Stewart said, “Not a problem.”

Harry smiled.

The three of them watched as the fighting on the boardwalk began to breakup. Some people entered back into the Hearthville Saloon. Others began leaving the boardwalk, staggering and confused. The witches had all vanished from the boardwalk.

Harry said, “I wonder what started the fight.”

Patrick said, “I kind of did. I guess. It was weird. Leroy Bare said that someone had put a sexual fight spell on me.”

Harry laughed. “A spell. Do you believe in spells and witchcraft?”

Patrick said, “Not really but I am just saying what Leroy said.” Patrick looked around. “I wonder where Leroy is. I need to to thank him. He helped me.” He added, “And you two helped. Again, thank you.”

Stewart said, “You are welcome.”

Harry said, “The last I noticed Leroy he was throwing some good punches but he was taking a beating.”

Patrick said, “I know. I need to find him.”
