Earl turned and slapped Deven on the butt. “No, Deven is just an idiot. I remember you. You live in the trailer up toward the beach and lake in the same trailer park as we do. You sometimes sun on top of your trailer in bikini underwear. I didn’t know your name but I sure remember you.”

Chapter 9
Roger and Steed sat down together at a table at the Purple Bird Billiard Club. It was a fairly large club with backrooms for private parties. But the front part had a small and fairly cozy feel to it, that is if you call bikers, prostitutes, gamblers, drug dealers, and lost souls just trying to feel something cozy.
Looking uncomfortable, Deven Raven stood behind the bar with an older bartender Roy Ruby. Deven hoped that none of the people he went to church with frequented the pool hall. The more he looked around the place, at the people, the less he wanted to be seen there. Yeah, he was poor. Yeah, he lived in a trailer park. But he desperately didn’t want to think of himself as trailer trash.
Deven quietly moaned though he thought he was thinking to himself, “Why did my stepfather decide I should work here of all places?”

Roy looked at Deven. “I have you know Earl sucked my cock to get you this job.”
Deven said, “Earl would have sucked your cock for a good piece of chocolate cake but no, I know I need to work and I should be more appreciative. Earl is not so bad. This is just such a rough looking crowd and I am feeling certain I am going to get my ass beat before the night is finished.”
“Be nice and the people will be nice to you. Some are actually pretty good tippers. Now go see what Steed and that fellow he is with at table five want to drink and eat.”
Deven thought, “Oh, fuck. Steed.” Deven picked up a pad and a pen and walked over to where Steed Ramsey sat with Roger Ogleby. Nervously Deven asked, “What can I get you fellows?”
Steed said, “Yo Deven, when you did start working here?”
“Today is my first day. Earl got me the job.” Deven decided he would pretend he had no clue who Steed was. “This is embarrassing, but do I know you?”
Earl Bismark slipped in the door without Deven seeing him. He sat down at a table behind where Deven stood.
Steed knew that Deven knew who he was. Deven had seen Steed over at the Duddley home with Judy and Steed had seen Deven with Victor. Sometimes Deven would have his girlfriend Trish Ireland with him. Also Steed and Deven lived in the same trailer park at the lake. Still, Steed was not going to call bullshit on Deven’s game.
Steed reached out and shook Deven’s hand. “I am Steed Ramsey. I date Victor’s sister Judy.” Steed saw there was still a fake look of puzzlement on Deven’s face. Steed was sure the look was fake. “You are Deven Raven, right? You are Victor Duddley’s friend. And you date Trish Ireland.”
“I did date Trish. When Trish found out where I live, she dumped me.”
Steed said, “Judy told me that Trish discovered that you have been doing a cam show on chaturbate and that Trish got pissed about that.”
“Yeah. There was that also. And she probably wouldn’t be thrilled with me working here either.” Deven stared at Steed. “I am sorry that I didn’t remember you. Judy is nice.”
“Yeah. People don’t forget her like they do me. Apparently, I am a totally forgettable person.”
Deven said, “Oh, so you live in the trailer park also.”

Steed said, “Yeah. Also. I work at the Hearthville Garage.”
Deven laughed. “Oh yeah. I do remember Victor talking about you.”
Steed said, “I would guess ranting is a better word.”
Deven nodded. “Yep. I guess I better take your order before I get fired.”
Deven took Roger and Steed’s order and then returned to the bar. He felt proud that he had not lost his temper with Steed. He guessed that pretending he didn’t know Steed was the best way to handle the situation.
Earl stood and followed his stepson to the bar. Earl said, “So you sometimes jerk your dick on chaturbate for tips. And I thought you had no work ethic.”
Roy said, “I sometimes work chaturbate also. Maybe you and I could do a show together.”
Deven said, “I am straight.”
Earl said, “Oh my God, you are still telling that lie to yourself. I’ve seen you watch broadway musicals like that ‘Hello Dolly.’ And I’ve seen you flip that wrist when you get overly excited when talking. Also, I’ve seen the way you throw a baseball.”
Deven said, “You are an idiot.”
Seated at the bar, Dolly Seljay cleared her throat. Then she took a smoke on her cigarette and a drink from her shot glass. She licked the rim of the shot glass with her long tongue touching her all so red lips. She brushed her curly brown hair from her eyes. Deven noticed her and wondered if she was a man dressed as a woman. He was not sure.
In a high pitched voice Dolly said, “Not all sissy boys are gay and not all jocks are straight. But honey be honest, your chaturbate profile says you like it all, doesn’t it.”
Roy said, “He wouldn’t get many tips if it says he only likes women.”
Deven said, “Well, that is what it says and I do get tips.”

Roy said, “But mostly from gay men, right?”
“Yeah.”
Dolly smiled. She asked, “Have you ever inserted one of those vibrating things up your behind that people can tip to change vibration levels.”
“I am not talking about it. Change the subject.”
Dolly reached into her purse and put a $10 tip on the table. Roy started to take the money but Dolly slapped his hand. “The tip is for… Honey. What is your name?”
“Deven.”
“The tip is for Deven. Whisper your chaturbate name in my ear and then take the tip.”
Deven put his mouth to Dolly’s ear. He whispered his chaturbate name to her. He then took the ten dollars.
Earl put ten dollars on the bar. “Now whisper the name to me.”
Deven said, “Fuck. No.”
“I will locate you on there.”
“Probably not.”
“Dolly will tell me.”
Dolly said, “Sorry but no. I will not tell you.”
Earl asked, “So why did you pretend to not know Steed? I’ve heard you mention him before.”
Deven rolled his eyes. “I do not want to talk about it.”
Earl touched his stepson’s nose in a flirtatious manner. “Did you make a pass at him and he reject you?”
“Like no. Gross.”
Dolly protested Deven’s remark. “Don’t say gross. He came in here totally crying in his beer once and I totally made out with him. It was anything but gross. That was when he first came to town and he had not yet met that Judy girl.”
Earl looked back around to Steed and Roger. “I wish he would get drunk enough to get all smoochy with me. That would be so hot.”
Dolly said, “Now come on. Tell us why you were pretending to not know Steed.”
“I hate him and I would like to kill him but I figure it is best if I pretend that I do not know him.”
Earl asked, “So why do you hate him?”
“I don’t want to think about it. I just want to pretend that I do not know him.”
Earl shrugged. “Okay. So you let him fuck you in the ass and then the next day he didn’t call you.”
“That did not happen.”

“In my imagination it did. I like the way you screamed in pain and tears rolled down your face as he thrust his cock in and out of you.”
“You are one sick asshole.”
Earl laughed. “I wish. Psychiatrists give out the best pills.”
