This story takes place before Billy Bingo: The Forgotten Past and before Billy Bingo: When The Legman Comes & the rewrite may change dependent plot points.

A spawn – is when a soul creates a soul from them self. The original is the higher self and remains connected to any of the “lower” selves that are created by the higher self. A spawn can join back into the higher self if it becomes mostly aware of the higher self aspects. The higher self may remain aware of the spawn unless it tunes out the awareness such as to be incarnated into the physical world.

Chapter 4

The Legman watched Billy Bingo. He saw the confusion in the face of his spawn and a part of him wanted to return to be one with his other self. But he knew the risk. The Legman looked at George Destone. He didn’t dislike George as much as Billy did but still was not overly familiar with the inner soul or higher self of George. He couldn’t figure if George was an old soul or a newer spawn. George was a mystery to him.

The Legman knew that Tommy Harris was an old soul. In past lives he had fought hard against the invading space alien witches. Tommy was a witch but he had his powers locked away from him by the space alien witches. The Legman wondered if there was even a single spark inside of him that might bypass the locks the space alien witches had put in place. He wondered if perhaps in Tommy’s dreams Tommy remembered bits of who he was in the past. The Legman thought he would like to restore Tommy’s memory to Tommy but he also knew it would be dangerous to do such a thing.

The Legman looked at Jimmy. Jimmy also had his powers locked and his memories locked. He was never the man that Tommy was but in many lives he had proudly and bravely stood by Tommy in battle. Whether on the side of right or the side of wrong as judged by hindsight they had fought with honor. The Legman figured it was good that they were brothers in this life for in truth they were eternal friends whether championing for the forces of right or failing to the forces of evil.

The Legman watched Sam Bigalo and Roger Dover drive away. He felt Billy was safe for now. He was reluctant to enter his multidimensional spaceship and begin his journey back to the outlands and to his realm. He knew leaving Billy might put Billy at risk. Still he guessed he needed to deliver the envelope to General Gorgan. General Gorgan was in search of a spawn of a soul that he loved. The soul had fallen into a sleep and the General hoped that her spawn might be key to waking her up from that sleep. The Legman and General Gorgan had no idea who or where the spawn was. They hoped the Space Alien Witch Council did know and would try to use the soul as bait for their intended trap to capture General Gorgan. It was a dangerous game all sides were playing.

The Legman enters his spaceship. He looks at his controls. There is a throttle that is marked Iapetus. The Legman moans. He thinks, “If only I could unlock my world that I love so much. If only that throttle should work as I have dreamed so many times. I guess today is not the day to yet again try that useless mission … but I wish. I must go to my smaller realm in the outlands. For now my responsibility must be the souls there. I must think of them for now I can do nothing for those locked inside of Iapetus. I must think of those I can help.”

Sam Bigalo walks into the office of Alice Malokey. She is sitting behind her desk and using her mental powers to twirl a silver ball above her head. She also has a ping pong table set up in the far corner of her office. She is using her mental powers to play ping pong against herself with neither side missing or winning.

Sam realizes those are two methods she uses to distract herself when she is upset. Sam asks, “So what is wrong?”

“You and my husband. I have a bad feeling that my marriage to Phil may be coming to an end.”

“I haven’t told him anything.”

“My husband and my lover talk all the fucking time. With you two hunting together, I think you are closer to him than you are to me.”

“So is your jealousy why you partnered me with Roger Dover and not Phil?”

“Roger Dover is a good man. He is not a yes man and he has a strong moral compass. I am not saying you and my husband Phil are bad men or that you don’t have a moral compass but sometimes the two of you are just too hotheaded. You have to understand that every action has a reaction. There are consequences and those consequences have to be measured. The Witches Council is not a fully unified body and events can cause the various members to look at things differently so that they may change sides. Even with the power of my family, my position on the board is precarious at best.”

Sam said, “I know what you are saying but sometimes I am not sure where you actually stand on things or when you are just playing politics with the Witches Council.”

“I am from the worlds of Malokey that my family named and controls. I am not a refugee from Pluto Viso. I am not an earth witch. I can’t say that I am always neutral but I approach things from my own heritage. I know that you and Phil do not always agree with my decisions. I understand why the two of you hate General Gorgan and want him caged but we have to be careful when dealing with him. And we sure as hell have to be careful when dealing with the Legman and Billy Bingo and Amberline Darko.”

“Where is Amberline Darko?”

“Officially she is dead.”

“But really?”

“I have no idea and that is an honest answer. We know some of the activities of her brother Quentin but not everything. When Amberline wanted to get off our radar, she got off of it but good. She and her brother Quentin Darko are powerful witches and they want us Space Alien Witches the hell off earth.”

“And you? Do you want the space alien witches, yourself included, off of earth”

“I miss living in my own world where I am loved. And I want the positions of the earth witches improved. I want to begin phasing things where fewer of the earth witches will have their powers and their memories locked. But I understand that if we totally evacuated ourselves from earth then Belial’s forces would probably move in and the plight of the earth witches would be worse. The earth witches are proud. You are proud. I understand. But you fought in the Pluto Viso Wars. You know how difficult it is to fight Belial. But Quentin and Amberline and the Legman do not understand.”

Sam says, “I think the Legman should be caged.”

“When the Ancient Witches Council worked their spell to lock Iapetus he put over 100,000 space alien witches into his cage and they are locked in Iapetus. The Ancient Witches Council won but it was not without cost. He flooded earth in an attempt to drive us off the planet. You need to fucking understand that. He is not the God Complex. He is not the Luciferian Complex. But he is Iapetus and even without his true world he is still powerful.”

“I was off fighting the Pluto Viso Wars so I didn’t fully know what was happening on earth. Also the space alien witches fucked with my mind. But I know I fought Belial. I don’t think the Legman is anywhere near as strong now as he was back then. I think I can fight the Legman.”

“Your powers are partially locked. Your memories could not be fully locked but on some things your memories can not be trusted. And let me remind you. Even when you were powerful, you and your armies, your space force, didn’t beat Belial. He won. The Legman could cage you in a heartbeat.”

“Are you sure he is still so powerful? When we threatened to cage him he made a quick exit from Billy Bingo.”

“Billy Bingo is not an ordinary spawn. I don’t fully understand what the Legman is doing but Billy Bingo is important to him. The Legman is not as vulnerable as you think but Billy is.”

“Maybe we should kill Billy.”

“Hell. Fucking. No.”

“I don’t understand why not. What if he grows in power and becomes dangerous to you? Wouldn’t it be better to kill him and cage his soul now, before he can become that powerful?”

“What if against all odds Quentin, Amberline, and the Legman aren’t as stupid as I think. What if Billy is their hope to defeating Belial?”

“What if he is mainly their hope to defeating you space alien witches?”

“I know. I understand. But do you understand what I am saying?”

“Yeah. I do. And you are right. My memories are right on some things but they are off on some other things. Still. I can not forget my Amelia. Though she sleeps, I sometimes go to visit her. I long for her to awake like she is my fairy princess. As I long for her to again hold me in her arms and confide her love I can not, I will not, forget that it was General Gorgan who put my love in that cage and caused her to fall into that deep, deep, deep sleep.”

Alice Malokey lowers the silver ball above her head so that it lands in a pink ashtray on her desk. The ping pong paddles lower. The ping pong ball freezes in mid air. Alice Malokey speaks in a most serious tone. “I understand your hatred for the man but the Legman insists that General Gorgan rebelled against Belial. Also, let me remind you that you and your beloved, sweet wife also put souls in cages with torturous abandon. Some of them fell into the sleep. It was war. We all have grievances from war but those grievances make for no moral compass.”

“If you trust General Gorgan why are you trying to lure him out so that you might cage him?”

“That is the Witches Council going against my advice. I would like the Legman and General Gorgan left alone for now. Unfortunately, I do not control the situation.”

“So if I am given orders to capture the Legman and General Gorgan you want me to fail?”

“What you do is up to you. The odds are that you will fail. I have told the Legman and General Gorgan that I don’t want you hurt.”

“That is what was in the envelope?”

Alice Malokey says, “Yes. But there was another subject and I am going to tell you. Your former wife, General Amelia, has a spawn that did not fall into the sleep. General Gorgan claims he wants to find the spawn to see if she can be used to reach into the dreams of General Amelia and try to wake her. We don’t really know who the spawn is but the Witches Council insisted that General Gorgan be sent information as though we do so as to try to lure him out so that he can be captured.”

“God almighty, you are telling me that there is hope that General Amelia can be awakened.” Sam smiles. His blue eyes beam. “Hope for my Amelia.”

Alice Malokey says, “There is always hope. No matter what. You know that. Don’t you?”

Sam rubbed his face. “I don’t know what I know. But new hope is so much better than old hope that has aged and embittered me with my wishes unfullfilled. She has been in the sleep so long. But tell me this; why would General Gorgan want to wake Amelia? That he would give me new hope is so unexpected.”

“She knows things that he needs to know. She is the only one who knows how to sneak into Belial’s inner sanctuary where he holds the program keys to restore the God Complex of Pluto Viso.”

“So he is really trying to plan a counter offensive against Belial?”

“Or he is playing a game with the Legman. Did General Gorgan come to earth to help Belial plan an invasion of earth or did he come to earth as a refugee to escape Belial? I don’t know. But regardless he wants to find Amelia’s spawn to see if Amelia can be awakened through the spawn or so it seems.”

“But you and the Witches Council do not know who the spawn is?”

“We don’t.”

“Does anyone?”

“I would doubt it. The spawn is probably just an ordinary woman or maybe even a man having an ordinary incarnation on earth among the three to five other billion souls.”

“I thought there were seven billion souls on earth.”

“China and India’s population is exaggerated. Population figures means money and political power to local governments and so lies are told. The same is true in the United States and other places but the lies aren’t quite as big. Still even on the low end, three billion people is a lot of people. Trying to find the spawn of Amelia will be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.”
