Chapter 2

The sun is down. Fires are burning. Villagers are dancing. Rogun sits with his parents. As entertainment, they watch the fun that the others are having. They see Edmund is talking to Rochella.

Mr. Haskel says, “I see Edmund has found himself a friend. She is pretty.”

Rogun agrees. Edmund has shared with Rogun how Rochella came to rescue him in the shower but Rogun doesn’t tell his parents. Rogun feels nervous though he is not sure why. He stands up just as a french lady approaches him to introduce herself. Her name is Zel Dubois. She is more cute than pretty. She has something of a pixie look about her. Her brown hair is cut to just below her ears and to her shoulders in the back. Her bangs are cut to just above her eyebrows.

Zel Dubois asks, “Do you want to go with me to where the music is playing? Do you want to dance with me?”

Rogun looks at his parents motioning for him to go with her. He asks, “Did my parents set this up?”

Zel says, “Yes but that makes me ashamed that I can’t take the credit. This is a good idea. You and me. Good idea.”

Rogun smiles. He tells his parents, “Thanks.”

Zel asks, “So how do you like this missionary work?”

Rogun says, “I am afraid it is not for me. I am homesick.”

Zel nods. “She kisses him on the cheek. But when you are home then you will miss me. So enjoy not missing me now. Right?”

Rogun kisses her back. Then they both aim their lips together.

Zel says, “Don’t tell your parents but they fixed their son up with something of a slut.”

Rogun questions her. “So you have been with other men here?”

Zel says, “No. No. I have had other men but none that you know here. It is you who I have been watching and desiring. Your mother saw this. We talked. Of course I didn’t tell her that I want to feel your cock inside of me.”

Rogun laughs. “I am glad you didn’t tell her that.”

Zel says, “But she knows.”

Rogun and Zel dance. Rogun feels happy. He doesn’t feel nervous. He thinks his previous feelings of being scared were silly. He doesn’t know he is dancing with a werewolf.

Zel says, “So I have a shack. Well. I share it with a native. He is cool though and he will not interrupt us. So do you want to come to the shack with me and have sex with me.”

Rogun jokes. “Well. That sounds better than me going somewhere and having sex without you.”

Zel says, “So you are horny for me?”

Rogun says, “Yes.” Rogun watches his parents dancing as he goes with Zel back to where she shares a shack with a native.

Neither Zel nor Rogun notice that the shack is being watched by a man. He lurks in the shadows of the night. The man has a night camera that can take pictures in the dark. He snaps a picture of them going into the shack. The pictures are automatically sent to a mercenary command center where a witch by the name of Madison Grant is concerned about the owner of the shack, Darious.

The inside of the shack is lit with candles. Rogun looks at the art on the walls and the art on the floor propped against the wall. “Are these your paintings?”

Zel says, “No. They belong to my friend Darious who lives here and who I am visiting. He is quite good though. Don’t you think?”

Rogun says, “Very good. He has a thing for space aliens and werewolves though, doesn’t he. I see that they are in a lot of the paintings.”

Then Rogun notices a painting of a house situated at the top of a hill. The landscape of the hill is rather pretty with flowers. Among the flowers there are statues of animals and a naked man. At the bottom of the statue of the naked man there is a plaque. On the plaque is written the name OGINB YLLIB – 773.

Zel says, “He believes space alien witches invaded earth in the days of Noah. And they killed many of the earthlings off but earthlings are like rabbits. They multiply. And of course the souls of those they killed were still on the planet. They couldn’t kill the souls but these space aliens witches cursed the souls who didn’t like earth being invaded by the space aliens. The space alien witches shut off realms from those souls. They did curses that limited the magic of the earth witches. They messed with the memories of the humans and the earth witches who had opposed their invasion.”

A black man enters the shack. His name is Darious. From outside the shack he had heard Zel speaking. He says, “Of course the story the elders tell is more simple than the truth of the chaos and the wars and the debauchery that happened as earth became subjugated by space alien witches. And the elders don’t speak of how the war continues.”

Darious is a young man. The shack where they are is one that he built with his own two hands. This village where they are is where he was raised. Though he travels quite a bit to sell his paintings and tell his stories, this is where he comes back to when he tells people that he is going home. He believes his home is not just the shack he built, but his home is also the people in the village who he loves as his family. The people of the village have always made him feel welcome and he believes that truly to be a man who can come home again is a great thing.

Rogun asks, “Do you really believe that earth was invaded by space alien witches?”

Darious says, “Just as surely as my name is Darious, I don’t just believe. I know. I am quite certain that space alien witches do walk among us. I am certain that is a fact.”

Rogun says, “I don’t know about that. But Darious, I am glad to meet you. And these paintings you have done are amazing?”

Darious says, “Many of the paintings are of things that come to me in my dreams.” Darious points to a painting. “This one is of the inside of a dwelling with a well inside. There is one block that can be removed from the well and that will open a staircase. And down the staircase you will find two drawings. One drawing is to where a key is located. The other drawing is where an ancient spaceship is located. On that spaceship there is hidden a charm and when the right person holds that charm they will be able to open up a realm that is called Iapetus and then maybe, slowly but surely, the ancient curses can be reversed and other realms can be opened. Then the earth witches will again have a fighting chance against the space alien witches.”

Darious shows Rogun another picture. “I painted this four years ago.”

Rogun stares at the picture. “You painted me at the well and with the staircase open.”

Darious nods. “You have a destiny. You were brought here for a reason.”

Zel says, “I brought him here so that he and I might have sex.”

Darious smiles. “I understand. I am going for a walk. Have fun.”

Rogun says, “Thanks.”

Darious leaves with plans to lurk about and perhaps to peep into the shack and watch Zel and Rogun have sex. Rogun and Zel begin to remove their clothes. Rogun feels nervous. This is the first time he has been with a woman but he doesn’t want her to know that. He glances at her. He wonders if she does know.

Zel glances at Rogun. She looks away as she fiddles with a button. Zel says, “It is odd how Darious had you in a painting before he ever met you. His dreams are something else. I fear though, those dreams are going to get him in trouble.”

Rogun asks, “How so?” Rogun looks at his bare feet. “My God I haven’t trimmed my toe nails lately. My feet look so nasty. I guess I should have showered with Edmund.”

Zel laughs. “Two brothers showering together. I would like to see that.”

Rogun grins. “No. No you wouldn’t. It is nothing like you might be thinking about.”

Zel says, “You talk sports and manly stuff, right. Macho men.”

Rogun asks, “Is that a Village People reference?”

Zel takes her shirt off to reveal her naked breasts. Rogun eyes them. He licks his lips. Zel says, “Village People? I don’t understand.”

Rogun says, “The music group that was gay. They sang YMCA.”

Zel nods. “Oh. Yeah. Yeah. That goes back. That goes back to what, the late 1970 and early 1980’s.”

Rogun says, “Last I heard, they are still active.”

Zel says, “Wow. I wonder if they are human.”

Rogun shakes his head. He pulls off his shirt. “What a thing to say. Of course they are human.”

Zel says, “I don’t know why I didn’t catch you were talking about the band. I once saw them play. It was 1971.”

Rogun says, “What? You are joking. You are not that old.”

Zel grins. “Maybe I am joking. Maybe I am not.”

Rogun says, “That painting with me in it. It is a recent painting? Isn’t it? That about the space alien witches is all a joke. Right?”

Rogun walks over to look at the painting. He touches it. The paint is not wet or sticky. Some of the paint has started to change. A friend had once told him how to look at the paint in a piece of art so as to guess at its age. From the change in the paint, Rogun guesses that it is plausible that the painting is not recent and perhaps was painted four years ago.

Rogun turns to look at Zel. She is now completely naked. Rogun removes his pants and underwear. Naked, he stands before Zel.

Zel says, “You are a very handsome man. And you have a destiny. Darious knew this when he saw you come into the village. He knew this from his painting.”

Zel walks up to Rogun and she drops to her knees. She massages his legs. Rogun can tell that she is looking for something as she massages him. She moves her hands all around his cock and balls but she doesn’t touch him there. Down on her knees she looks up into his eyes. “Do you have any birthmarks? Have you had any removed?”

Rogun says, “No. I had a mole removed but not a birthmark.”

Zel asks, “Was the mole in the shape of a dagger?”

Rogun says, “No. To have such a mole would be weird.” He laughs, “Why would you ask that?”

Zel says, “You are not a witch.”

Rogun says, “No. We are Christians. We do missionary work. You know that.”

Zel laughs. “Yes. Of course.”

Rogun wonders what kind of a woman is he with. She is strange. Her friend Darious is strange. He thinks they believe in the space alien witch stories though he still wants to think they are playing some kind of game or joke. The painting with him in it is not recent but Rogun considers Darious still could have seen him somewhere.

Suddenly Rogun feels Zel’s mouth on his cock. He rolls his head back. His eyes roll even more. He moans. “Oh.” He can hardly believe that this is actually happening. “I am not dreaming. A woman’s mouth is on my cock.”

Zel licks his cock.

Darious walks back into the shack. Darious hesitates as he looks around. He doesn’t want to interrupt his friend Zel with Rogun. He looks at the two lovers. “Sexy. You two are very sexy.” Zel can see there is a very troubled, sad expression on Darious’ face.

Rogun says, “I thought you were going for a walk.”

Darious says, “Something is not right. I saw a man who seemed to be watching this shack. He may have just been passing. Still, I had a déjà vu all over again feeling. But still, I hope I am wrong. Please don’t be angry if I am just being silly. My dreams aren’t always right.”

Zel asks, “What from your dreams do you think has been revealed for this night? I trust your intuition. What do you think is wrong?”

Darious says, “I think my home is going to be attacked. I think my shack and my paintings are going to be destroyed. If I am right, you two need to get out of here.”

Rogun knocks a fly from his nose and then from his cock.

Darious says, “I am certain what Rogun just did there was in my dream. I feel more certain now. Mercenaries for the space alien witches are coming. I am sorry. Leave.” Darious screams, “Get your clothes on and leave now. My nightmare is going to happen.”

Zel tells Darious, “In your dream Rogun had a the birthmark of an earth witch. He has no birthmarks. He does not appear to be an earth witch. He may not be the one. The space alien witches may have put lies in your dreams.”

Darious stares at Rogun. “You are the one. I have no doubt about that. Though it is strange that you were not born with the mark, someday that mark will show itself on you.”

Rogun says, “I don’t understand.”

Zel has ears that are more keen than human ears. She hears helicopters that are not yet near. She says, “Darious, I hear distant helicopters approaching.”

Rogun says, “I don’t hear anything.”

Zel says, “I think they are coming. Darious, you know you can’t win a fight with them. Get the paintings that you want to save. Put them in your jeep and get the fuck out of here.” She screams, “Your dream does not have to come true.”

Darious says, “I don’t want to be a coward. These are my people. I must fight to save them.”

Rogun says, “There are Russian troops. There are French troops. Even some of the missionaries know how to fight. They will fight for your village. If you feel you are in danger, then leave.”

Darious says, “Don’t you understand. I fear that we all are in danger.”

Zel says, “Put yourself first. Don’t let it be your time to die. Live to help the enemies of the space alien witches. That is your destiny. Believe in that destiny.”

Darious grabs up some paintings. Though still naked, Zel and Rogun gather up paintings. They run to put the paintings in a jeep that is parked near the shack. They make a second trip to move more paintings.

Darious jumps into the jeep. He says, “You two, come with me.”

Rogun says, “I can’t leave my parents and brother because of some attack that might not even happen. But I especially can’t leave them if an attack is coming.”

Darious says, “The attack is coming. I feel it in my bones. I feel like a coward to run like this. Maybe I should also stay.”

Zel says, “No. Don’t feel that way. Get the hell out of here and just hope that you are wrong.”

Darious cranks his jeep and floors his gas. His tires spin, kicking up dirt, as he takes off.

Zel says, “Sorry we can’t make love. We need to get dressed and get out of here. I am still hearing the helicopters. They will be here soon.”

Rogun says, “I don’t hear anything. But yeah, you two have gotten me scared enough. I want to get back my family.”

Zel says, “Get your vehicles ready to escape. Believe me. You are going to have to run.”

Rogun runs back and grabs his pants. He doesn’t bother with his shirt. He puts his socks and shoes on in a run. Zel also dresses in a run. They get back to where the celebration is still happening.

Zel screams to the entire village. Her voice thunders as though she is on a speaker though she isn’t. “An attack is coming. Helicopters are coming. Rebels on the ground may be approaching. Prepare to run.”

Preacher Paulo says, “What? No. I’ve heard no reports of rebels being in the area.”

Zel screams, “It is the witch people. They are coming. You know what they do to villages. Run.”

Rogun’s mother turns to her husband. “Witch people?”

Villagers run to their shacks to gather what belongings they can carry. Many of them scramble away from the village just as fast as they can scramble. A few stay. The missionaries are left not knowing what to do. The Russian soldiers do not much seem to be paying attention.

Rogun screams to his father. “Where is Edmund? We must flee together.”

Rogun’s father says, “On what basis do you think an attack is coming? We’ve had no warnings.”

Rogun says, “If I am wrong you can throw eggs on my face later. But now listen. Let us get out of here. I’d rather look the fool than all of us end up dead”

Rogun’s mother says, “Edmund is with Rochelle. I guess they are somewhere doing something I shouldn’t approve of them doing.”

Rogun screams to anyone who might listen, “Where is Edmund and Rochelle?”

Trace Smith says, “They are in the back of a military truck at the Bathhouse.”

Rogun screams, “Man. Thank you.” He repeats, “Thank you.” He runs to the other side of the facilities. He sees the truck that he thinks Trace was talking about. He runs to the back of it. He sees Edmund and Rochelle naked in the back of the truck and fucking.

Edmund sees his brother looking at them. “Like dude. Don’t be a peeping tom. Look away.”

Rogun says, “The village may be about to be attacked. We’ve got to get back to our parents and get the hell out of here.”

Edmund says, “Not funny. Leave Rochelle and me alone. Get out of here.”

Zel runs up to the truck. She says, “The way I figure it, the attack is going to happen in 3 minutes.” Zel runs to the front of the military truck. She looks inside to see the keys. She gets in the driver seat. She screams, “Rogun, get in the passenger seat.”

Rogun says, “No. You take off. Get them to safety. I’ve got to get back to my parents.”

Zel screams “Fuck.” She cranks the truck. She floors the gas.

Rogun runs back to where he last saw his parents.
