US trade deficit drops in February 2017

Trade

The deficit fell to $43.6 billion in February, 9.6 percent below January’s deficit of $48.2 billion, the Commerce Department reported. Exports rose a small 0.2 percent to $192.9 billion. Imports dropped 1.8 percent to $236.4 billion as the flow of Chinese goods dropped by $8.6 billion, led by a reduction cell phone imports.

The trade deficit with China slipped in February to $23 billion, 26.6 percent below the January total; but still too high. And the reduction may be technical due to the Chinese New Year and not part of a trend: YET.

The small rise in exports in February was led by U.S.-made autos and autos parts, which climbed 1.5 percent to the highest level since July 2014. Exports of petroleum products were up 8.6 percent. Those gains helped offset declines in exports of commercial airplanes, farm products and industrial engines.

The increase in exports of goods was driven by consumer goods which increased $.7 billion to $17.1 billion and military and other goods which increased $.5 billion to $4.9 billion. The decrease in imports of goods were driven by consumer goods which decreased $3.1 billion to $49.0 billion and automotive vehicles, parts and engines which decreased $2.6 billion to $29.1 billion. There was a services surplus for the month of $21.4 billion.

Four governors team up, urge feds to leave the marijuana business alone

Governors who lead states that have moved  toward legalization of marijuana have a growing concern that President Trump and Attorney General Sessions  will hurt people who have been building businesses in the grand experiment to legalize marijuana.  Other states are concerned as well as they have been moving in the direction of legalization as well.  If President Trump were to try to upend what these and other states are doing, it could have serious political consequences.

University of South Dakota Installs Free Condom Dispensers

South Dakota Department of Health says that in 2016, the state saw the most chlamydia cases ever in one year and the most gonorrhea cases since the 1980s. The number of people who have unprotected sex is again a growing problem. The college wants to balance between trying to make sure that students know the condoms are available but at the same time provide some privacy for students who may be embarrassed if seen getting condoms.

The problem of STDs on the rise is not limited to just South Dakota.

There were more reported cases of sexually transmitted diseases during last few years than ever before in the United States, according to the latest STD surveillance report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
So the bottom line is, PRACTICE SAFE SEX. Even if you are in what you think is a monogamous relationship, make sure that your partner is of the same impression. At the beginning of a relationship, regardless of all the promises and assertions use a condom. And also consider that if your lover is not comfortable with a condom, that is a sign that they HAVE NOT been practicing safe sex.

Reckitt finalizes deal to buy Mead Johnson for $16.6 billion
Opinion: A bad company buying a company is never a good thing for the over all economy. Corporate mergers continue to devastate the world economy. [no link]

Fifty Shades Darker gets a lot of bad reviews. To whether that in itself is hurting it at the box office or movie goers themselves are choosing other movies to watch instead is hard to say. Is erotica now a lot less fashionable than it was if it bills itself as such or readers/viewers suggest it as such? Sexy probably still sells but mainly if it bills itself or is recognized as some other genre than erotica. [no link]

Zynga, provider of social game services, continues to struggle. The company’s net loss narrowed to $35.4 million, or 4 cents per share, from $51.2 million, or 6 cents per share, a year earlier. [no link]

General Motors sales in China fell 24% as the Chinese Government gave incentives to people to buy smaller, more fuel efficient cars. Still, sales of GM’s Cadillac shined China. GM has a factory in Shanghai that builds 7 different models of the Cadillac on the same assembly line. [no link]

Free eBook Days – Note Coming Change

There are no free promotions.

Previously planned free promotions on amazon have been canceled.  Sorry.  To be perfectly frank I didn’t feel the level of free purchases would do anything to lead to future paid purchases of other books on amazon.  And pushing traffic to the free books does nothing to benefit my sayata web properties.

Most of the older Erotic Domination of Planet Earth stories will come out Kindle Unlimited December 13.  After that date I will begin posting the stories here where they may be fully or mostly sampled before their purchase on amazon.   If you like the stories I hope you will consider purchasing them.  Much thanks for your understanding of this change of plans.

Meanwhile, look for full samples from other books coming to this site.  These books are not in Kindle Unlimited / Kindle Select.

If you like the stories, please purchase.

Understand that just because you may fully sample the stories here does not mean the books are free. DO NOT REPORT THEM AS FREE TO AMAZON.  They are not free. If you want the books on your kindle device, you will need to purchase from Amazon.

Some stories from:

“Chuck’s Erotic Stories: Monster And Other Scary Lovers” have already been posted.

Microsoft Update From Hell

Microsoft seems to make its software more inferior with each and every update.  It seems to use more resources while doing less.

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update actually dropped support for video compression formats H.264 and MJPEG codecs thus making some webcams useless.   Do you think Bill Gates gives a fuck.  No.  He is too busy playing God–helping to make the world as crappy as Windows xx.x whatev, with Obama, Hillary, and Warren Buffet.

Article:
Microsoft broke millions of webcams with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Overtime rule updated to make it a middle class benefit

Before the update, the overtime rule only applied to salaried employees who made $23,660 or less. The new rule, with exceptions, covers people who make $47,476 or less. The rule had gone way too long without being updated and though businesses are crying the “sky will fall” it will benefit employees who have been being cheated out of overtime pay by their bosses calling them salaried. It may help the worker’s pocketbook or it may help stop them from being worked long hours that can be detrimental to their quality of life. Either way, it is to the benefit of the working class and Obama should be applauded for doing that which was long overdue.

Note that there are some exceptions such as medical where the primary source of money is medicare. (not verified)

There may be other case by case exceptions which will give certain businesses additional time to hire more workers so as to reduce the cost. I am not certain.

But for most the rule should be in place by by Dec. 1, 2016.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis Hospitalized, Band Cancels KROQ Weenie Roast Headlining Slot

He suffered stomach pain.  On a scale of 1 to 10 the pain level was “get me a damned ambulance.”  The show at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre didn’t go on for the Hot Chili Peppers to the disappointment of fans but the the fans did get to enjoy listening to Weezer. Other bands  included Panic! at the Disco, Empire of the Sun, Garbage, Lumineers, Fitz and the Tantrums and Miike Snow. Blink-182 also performed a surprise set.

Steven Spielberg Reacts to BFG Author Roald Dahl’s Anti-Semitism: ‘This Is a Story About Embracing Our Differences’

People who go around calling people racist and anti-Semitic are generally just trying to justify their own prejudices against the people they are attacking.  From what I read it appears Ronald Dahl had a general feeling against all religions because of his life experiences; though he wasn’t consumed by any dislike or hatred.  It just was what it was.

The wiki on him is pretty interesting

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roald_Dahl

But the part of the criticism comes from:

In 1983 he told a reporter: “There is a trait in the Jewish character that does provoke animosity, maybe it’s a kind of lack of generosity toward non-Jews. I mean, there’s always a reason why anti-anything crops up anywhere; even a stinker like Hitler didn’t just pick on them for no reason.”

And also supposedly: In 1990, shortly before his death, he said in an interview that he was “certainly anti-Israel” and that he had become anti-Semitic.

But if Jewish groups want to use that against his legacy and to stop children from enjoying his stories, it kind of would prove his point.  That Steven Spielberg would do a movie based on one of his stories kind of disproves his point.

The truth is that there is good and evil in all groups.  And a person shouldn’t stereotype either to say they are all wonderful or that they are all evil.  If you can’t see each individual tree for looking at the forest, then it is easy to get lost and scared and never find your way back from where you came.

That Office Depot and Staples were not allowed to merge was a good decision.  There was no benefit to the merger except to hurt customers and to hurt suppliers and to potentially hurt ma & pa stores that might be bought by either.

Both Office supply chains need to roll up their sleeves and figure out how they can make money in today’s economy.  Being distracted by Wall St. games in trying to build a monopoly was of no benefit to either company.  A lot of companies like these two need to understand that bigger is not always better.
