Twitter UP On Good News – 4-23-2019

Twitter Stock Pre-market 36.70 +2.31 (6.72%)
The company said the number of daily users rose 11% to 134 million for the first quarter of 2019, thanks to both “organic growth as well as ongoing product improvements and marketing.” Compare that to the 1.5 billion daily users that Facebook has. But if you compare twitter numbers to Amazon or Walmart the twitter numbers are good and their ability to monetize those numbers are good.
Twitter is planning on replacing monthly user numbers with daily user numbers which is the number of users who actually view advertisements on twitter each day.
Does this 11% increase in users indicate that the twitter purge of users is coming to an end? My account indicates that the purge is still ongoing but it may be slowing. I am not sure.
The company posted profit of $190.8 million, or 25 cents per share, for the first quarter. After adjusting for one-time gains and costs, earnings came to 9 cents per share, short of Wall Street expectations. Analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research forecast earnings of 15 cents per share.
Revenue came in at $786.9 million in the period, slightly beating analyst forecasts of $774.9 million.
The twitter story and the story of other internet companies is basically the story of people who can longer get organic traffic to their websites, to their apps, to their eBooks, to the products they are trying to sell. They have to advertise to be seen online. That helps companies that are good at running ads.
Even twitter hints that part of their growth came from more effective marketing and was not strictly organic. For people like me the need to run ads is the primary internet story right, and to be honest, I don’t like. 🙂 I stopped running ads in 2008 and I really do not want to start back doing it because I am so out of practice but I know what I need to do. I just do not want to do it.
Notes:
Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams and launched in July of that year. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity. In 2012, more than 100 million users posted 340 million tweets a day, and the service handled an average of 1.6 billion search queries per day. In 2013, it was one of the ten most-visited websites and has been described as “the SMS of the Internet”. As of 2018, Twitter had more than 321 million monthly active users.
Twitter ranks around 10 or 11 in traffic compared to other websites. It has held that position for a couple of years or more. It should be noted that yahoo still gets more traffic than twitter. One of the twitter’s metrics is that people spend only around 6 minutes per day on twitter. I would think the average twitter user spends more time on twitter than that but I don’t know.
Does Amazon Have My eBook Shadow Banned???
Update: Some people were confused when I say that the keywords on the page source show differently, depending on how you reach the page. If you reach the page through the amazon search, the only keywords that will show on the page are the keywords that you entered in your search. Those are the only keywords that will show in that case. However, if you you go to the page from a general click from your website, you should see the keywords that might bring a person to your book if they use the search function on amazon.
Someone suggested that amazon might not fully show the keywords (though not suppressed within amazon search) for indie writers because they don’t want google to provide search to indie books but allow search from google to publishing house books because publishing houses might pitch a fit if they discovered their books were being suppressed from google. In other words, maybe I am wrong and that is quite possible. I looked over many indie books and saw their books also did not show keywords similar to the way a book from a publisher shows keywords.
Note that google does NOT necessarily care about keywords in the meta tag but searches the page for relevant words and how people link to the books also provides keywords to google. Putting words on the page, including the title is important and I have not been doing that. Amazon’s suppression of keywords from the pages created on the fly from their database may not mean a whole lot as far as google is concerned.
I think the suppression of keywords in the meta tag does point to the eBook is being suppressed within amazon’s system and is not about google or bing or other outside search. But I could be wrong. I often am. And the truth is that I am frustrated that I can’t generate sales.
Many people say it is very difficult to generate any sales without advertising on amazon and that pushing advertisements is really what the keyword suppression is about. Advertising on amazon is proving to be a mine field for many writers, but I am not going to go into that. I will just say that you should use extreme caution if you decide to advertise on amazon and to watch your ad budget very carefully.

original post
This is what keywords look like on a regular book that I have listed in the store here on sayata.net. This is not my book. It is written by someone else. I clicked the book from here. Note that how keywords show up on amazon to some degree depends on how you reach the page.
<meta name="keywords" content="ebook,Edward Jay Watts,Mortal Republic: How Rome Fell into Tyranny,Basic Books,ANCIENT ROME - HISTORY,GENERAL, General Adult,HISTORY / Ancient / Rome,HISTORY / Military / Ancient,HISTORY / World,History,History/World,Italy,Non-Fiction,POLITICAL SCIENCE / Civics & Citizenship,POLITICAL SCIENCE / Constitutions,POLITICAL SCIENCE / History & Theory,POLITICAL SCIENCE / Political Ideologies / Democracy,Political Science/ History & Theory - General,Rome - History - Republic, 265-30 B.C,Rome - Politics and government - 265-30 B.C,Rome;History.,Rome;History;Republic, 265-30 B.C.,Rome;Politics and government;265-30 B.C.,United States, books about rome; books about roman republic; roman history books; what happened to rome; how did rome fall; roman senate; books on roman empire; reasons the roman republic fell; augustus; ancient civil war; mark antony; cleopatra; books on ancient government;,books about rome; roman history books; what happened to rome; how did rome fall; roman senate; books on roman empire; reasons the roman republic fell; augustus; ancient civil war; mark antony; cleopatra; books on ancient government; books about roman republic" />
Now this is how the keyword search tag looks on the book “No Condoms” that I recently published.
<meta name="keywords" content="ebook,Charles Peters,No Condoms (Hearthville Serial Book 2),Fiction / Thrillers / Suspense,Fiction / Literary" />
These are words that I entered in the seven boxes.
“racy, small town, contemporary, scary, organized crime, love, friendship”
My words were not that great but damn. Unless someone is actually searching for my book, there is no way that anyone is going to find it. In a different test a few weeks ago I searched for my books with “Charles Peters” which you will see in the keyword list. None of my books showed up when I searched using my name.
So am I going to publish anything again with amazon? If I do, with the next book I may stuff words in the title to risk getting banned, but otherwise what is the fucking point. I will publish on amazon again. I will publish the next Hearthville Serial book on amazon. I will not make it exclusive to amazon. And yeah, I will put keywords in the title but hopefully not be accused of stuffing the title.
I spend money with amazon. I promote amazon. And I am treated like shit by amazon. I am sick of being treated like shit by these internet companies. Hell, if someone from this site were to buy the book, I do not even have confidence that I would get credit for the sale. Do I get credit for affiliate sales where I promote products? I don’t know. I do think sales are correctly reported.
I know my over all internet traffic is bad. I understand that. And I’ve tried to use that reality to explain why I am doing so badly. But I do have some traffic. I have some fans. I just don’t know. I am so angry right now I could chew nails, even with my bad teeth. Maybe I am overreacting. I just don’t know. Maybe I will calm down and think that maybe I stand a chance of ever selling anything with amazon again and keep trying, but I doubt it. I have changed my mind.
Note that I have sold eBooks and had page reads in the past. But not now.
I will NEVER buy ads on amazon. That crazy shit is not happening.
Rant is almost over. But I just wanted people to see this. And don’t tell me the search words show up differently depending on how you reach the page. I know that. But I did test with different books to see what the view source looked like. I have a pretty good idea that when I say I have been being fucked by amazon that I am probably understating the situation because I know the full history.
I do realize that amazon employees have treated other people even worse. A lot worse! That does not comfort me.
What will I do with the Hearthville Serial?
I will NOT publish the rest of it on amazon unless there are sales or page reads on the first two books. It is that simple. There is no point in thinking the situation will change with more books added. Change in thought, I may very well put it on amazon because why in the hell not. I will not make it exclusive to amazon. I will not put it in Kindle Select/ Unlimited. I think if I make any sales there, the sales will be correctly recorded because arbitration will not protect them from fraud charges if they are caught defrauding creators. I realize that borrows and page reads are not correctly recorded but their user agreement pretty much has them covered on that shit. I don’t believe the same is true for sales.
“I wish him luck, Trump said. “It’s going to be a beauty.”
And who was President Trump talking about? He was talking about his seeming “enemy” Jeff Bezos and Jeff’s impending divorce from his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Bezos . Whether a marriage ends with a fizzle, as the candle of love has slowly burned out, or an explosion of emotion where the people still have strong feeling of love and hate for one another; it is a sad thing.
Somewhat oddly Jeff Bezos chose the social platform that Trump seems to most enjoy, Twitter, to announce Bezos’ impending divorce. At the time of the tweet few people knew that the reason for the announcement was that the National Enquirer was about to release a major expose on Jeff Bezos and his “mistress.” Although it had been kept fairly quiet–I didn’t know :(–in truth Jeff Bezos and his wife had been separated for quite some time. The National Enquirer had learned of the separation when they were doing their piece on Jeff Bezos. The coming Nation Enquirer article will include 11 pages of pictures on Jeff Bezos and his mistress.
Now that the piece is known about, there are questions on whether the National Enquirer did the piece because Bezos is Trump’s perceived “enemy.” The National Enquirer is said to have buried some articles that would have made President Trump look bad during the election. President Trump has had a friendly relationship with American Media Inc. boss David Pecker for decades. (American Media Inc. is the parent company of the National Enquirer.) But most people believe that the National Enquirer is simply doing what it and its employees ( and stringers, regularly paid freelancers) do best: dig up dirt. Fairly beat up through the years from Hollywood and with various other problems, they had almost fallen to becoming little more than an echo chamber for highly spun press releases with little real information. But now with this coming National Enquirer article on Jeff Bezos, sort of speak, yeah, “the bitch is back.”
The Enquirer and other outlets identified the woman with whom Jeff Bezos has been having an affair as Lauren Sanchez, a former anchor for Fox’s local station in Los Angeles. I have no idea on whether the affair began before or after the separation of Jeff Bezos from his wife MacKenzie Bezos .Most people know that even though I don’t agree with President Trump on everything, I supported him and continue to support him. Even though Jeff Bezos at the Washtington Post has been fairly anti-Trump, I still like Jeff Bezos and his wife for what they accomplished with Amazon. I have promoted Amazon from just about the very beginning and I will continue to promote Amazon. Some people, who have been strongly anti-Trump, have not just attacked Trump but all of us who have supported Trump. As far as I know Jeff Bezos has never crossed that line to any large agree. To whether any of his writers at the Washington Post have, I don’t know and don’t really care. Jeff Bezos has a conservative side. He is like a lot of us where his politics are mixed based on issues. I, myself, have a strong liberal side and a conservative side depending on the issue–and sometimes depending on just my mood at the moment.
I wish both Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Bezos the best.
At the same time I am kind of glad that the National Enquirer is back to digging up dirt. 🙂

Video: Synchronicity Thanksgiving, Mandela Effect on Chaturbate
In this video I discuss an example synchronicity that happened Thanksgiving. I believe synchronicity lends credence to the idea that this world is computer like. That does not mean this world is not real or is virtual, it simply mean that when the ancient ones emerged from the void as intellectual energy, the world they (the God Complex) created was computer like.
In this video I also discuss an odd thing in one of their chat rooms and I discuss idea that this world might be Purgatory or Hades. That idea is rather out there but the notion has been part of the Mandela Effect early on since it was first discussed in forums. It ties into the phenomenon that some people believe the world/earth we came from was described as being in Sagittarius but now earth is discussed as being in Orion. That belief gives rise to the notion that somehow we were moved from one earth to another.
Although not mentioned in the video when I went back to find the profile I could not find it in my computer history or locate the profile. For the life of me I can’t remember their profile name.
The video is dealing with a weird subject, I realize.

- The sample was taken in 1966. I am not sure the data actually proves what they say it proves.
Although there have been a number of estimates of when HIV started transmitting among people, most now focus on the early 1900s. Pepin said it might even have occurred in the final years of the 1800s.
-
- If I am reading the article right they are trying to say that HIV emerged before 1920.
It doesn’t tell them when the event happened, but it can suggest that it had to have been prior to a particular time, Worobey said, adding that the new data suggest the jump likely did not happen in the 1920s.
- We know, for whatever reason, that scientist have spent a lot of time and money attempting to debunk the polio vaccine theory. I am not saying that was the source. And I am not saying these people are wrong. The scientist are obviously above my pay grade and understanding but I don’t see how a sample taken in 1966 proves the HIV infection in humans happened in the late 1800’s. And to be perfectly blunt, and though I could be totally wrong, I still believe that HIV cross infection of humans came out of a test tube either intentionally or accidentally. That is my belief and studies like this have so far not changed that belief.

Twitter Again
Update: Yeah, I just did another tweet. LOL
I know I have done similar posts in the past where I’ve said I am finished with twitter and then wasn’t. The truth is that twitter is addictive where you see something you either like or don’t like and then there you are putting it on twitter.
I have done that as well have done political tweets and of course used it to promote this website.
As many of you may know twitter has suspended a large number of accounts. The elite media propaganda is that they were fake accounts or bot accounts. Of course many of us know people that twitter murdered (in a figurative sense) off its platform who were very much real and very much hurt by twitter’s psychopathic, murderous behavior.
I have been on twitter since 2009.
7/14/2018 I did two tweets promoting sayata that received a grand total of 6 impressions with 4 on the first one and 2 on the next one. My tweets generally don’t get a huge number of impressions but start at around 12 to 18 and then build to between 100 to 200 impressions with an occasional jump to a few thousand. On those two tweets, there was no building number from a low count. It remained at a low count.
When that kind of thing happens–low tweet impression count–that pretty much means someone or a group of someones or a group of bots or twitter “employees” themselves have extolled a great deal of hate on me and my twitter account. So anyway, although twitter may suspend my account for no reason–I have done nothing wrong and I have always kept it real on twitter–I am not going to delete my account. At the same time though, until and unless I change my mind, my tweeting days that go back to 2009 are over. My intention is to no longer tweet. [update: but it did not stick]
And no, I will not link to this post on twitter. 🙂
If you use twitter that is cool. Just know that if you want to know when something new is posted here don’t expect to see it on twitter. [update: I will start back mixing random tweets with mentions of content I have added to sayata.net]
Amazon banning shoppers
The headline on various news sites is:
Amazon banning shoppers who return items too often
But Amazon has been banning shoppers for other reasons as well such as selling fake reviews. If a user publishes eBooks on amazon and they have been doing things to manipulate the rank of those eBooks then that is also causing customers to be banned. Amazon has rules and they expect their users to follow those rules. I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t take issue with that in the way that I take issue with the behavior of youtube and twitter treating users like crap for political reasons. Even though Jeff Bezos is pushing a political agenda at the Washington Post I don’t think that has translated into any bad behavior at Amazon in the way it has at youtube and twitter.
As some people may know I operated inwoods.com that sold things both in physical stores as well as online. I didn’t mind the returns when they were warranted. But with inwoods, because I also had to do free shipping to compete, just one return could not only cancel the profit from that sale but the next sale. The margins were that thin. So I don’t blame amazon for telling customers who are costing them money, “bye.”
Because I haven’t been selling that many eBooks lately, returns haven’t been a problem for me on amazon. But there was a period there that there was no doubt that Amazon had customers who were abusing if not out right cheating the system. There were other writers in certain forums who were being hit by far worse than me and wishing amazon would do something about customers abusing the return system. Apparently, now they have.
Still, some customers claim that they have not broken any rules. They really don’t understand what they did. If that is true, which I don’t know, hopefully Amazon will straighten those issues out.
