Google Stadia Will Shut Down in 2023, All Purchases to Be Refunded

Stadia is being discontinued

Google initially announced Stadia during the Game Developers’ Conference in San Francisco in 2019. Via Stadia, Google claimed, it would allow users to play video games via almost any networked device, via cloud access to Google’s servers.

The pitch to consumers was that you don’t have to spend thousands on high-end consoles or PCs to play video games when you can log into Stadia via your current tablet or phone and run the newest Assassin’s Creed on maximum settings.

Now four years later, or there about, it is being discontinued.

People using Stadia will still to be able to access to their game libraries, including Pro games if you had an active Pro subscription as of Thursday. In an email sent to players, Google warned that publisher support for games may vary, and it’s possible that your gameplay experience may be affected during the shut-down period (suggesting that some games could vanish or lose features early).

Explaining the move, Stadia vice president and general manager Phil Harrison noted Google’s investments in gaming through its Google Play digital distribution service, its cloud tech and YouTube streaming.

“A few years ago, we also launched a consumer gaming service, Stadia,” he said in the blog post. “And while Stadia’s approach to streaming games for consumers was built on a strong technology foundation, it hasn’t gained the traction with users that we expected so we’ve made the difficult decision to begin winding down our Stadia streaming service.”

Many employees on the Stadia team will be reassigned to other roles within Google, the blog post noted.

Opinion:

Google could not deliver a healthy user base or eco-system for game developers. Stadia never had a huge number of users and the warnings and bannings did not help Stadia. Imagine if youtube were just starting today under its current censorship cloud, does anyone think they would succeed? Remember Google Video also was failing even before they bought and turned their focus toward youtube. And remember how google attempted to strong arm their users into using google plus and yet it also failed. I can’t remember the name of it but there was even a google version of twitter that didn’t survive. Right now, because of censorship, google search is crippled and in time even that may fail. It certainly is not what it was in 2018.

Bank of England will buy UK bonds at ‘whatever scale’ necessary to halt crash

London CNN Business —

The Bank of England said Wednesday it would buy UK government debt “on whatever scale is necessary” in an emergency intervention to halt a bond market crash that it warned could threaten financial stability.

Investors have been dumping the pound and UK bonds since the government of new Prime Minister Liz Truss on Friday unveiled a huge package of tax cuts and increased borrowing aimed at getting the economy moving and protecting households and businesses from sky-high energy bills this winter.

Storm Ian strengthens to Category 4 hurricane as millions urged to evacuate Florida Gulf Coast

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis warned that people in Collier, Lee, Charlotte and Sarasota counties were no longer safe to evacuate and urged people to get off the roads and stay inside.

“You need to get to higher ground, you need to get to structures that are safe,” DeSantis said, adding that widespread power outages would leave millions without electricity once the storm strikes.

U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency chief Deanne Criswell said she worried that too few Florida residents were taking the threat seriously. [opinion: Apparently women in the Biden administration are too stupid to know that evacuation requires gasoline and in many areas around Tampa, even yesterday, it was nearly impossible to buy gas. Or maybe evil Connecticut Yankees like Biden want Southerners stranded on the side of the road as a huge storm approaches.]

New malware can steal your credit card details — and it’s spreading fast

Initially spotted in August 2022 by Cyfirma, the malware, hidden away within game cracks, has a lot of power. It can steal data found within Chromium and Gecko-based browsers, including passwords, cookies, form autofill information, and credit card data. Moreover, it targets cryptocurrency users by attempting to steal data from their wallets as long as they’re installed as a browser extension.

If you want to make sure you’re not at risk, right now, all you have to do is not download any illegal files (such as cracked games or bots for games). However, it’s a good idea to stay vigilant and also make sure you’re using one of the best antivirus software, keeping it updated, and scanning each file you download. If you own cryptocurrency, consider moving your funds to a fully-offline cold wallet as opposed to a desktop wallet.

Self-proclaimed ‘incel’ charged with pepper spraying women in hate attacks in Costa Mesa

https://abc7.com/incel-hate-attack-johnny-deven-young-costa-mesa/12273895/

Young is charged with four counts of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, four counts of illegal use of tear gas, all felonies, and four misdemeanor counts of violation of civil rights. He also faces sentencing enhancements for hate crime and personal use of a deadly weapon.

Young faces up to 13 years in prison if convicted at trial. He has a prior misdemeanor hate crime conviction in Nevada, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors said Young is a self-proclaimed “incel,” a member of an online community of men who call themselves involuntary celibates and express rage against women.

“No one should have to live in fear that they could be indiscriminately attacked and then publicly humiliated on the Internet because of their gender,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said. “This behavior is disgusting and the celebration of this behavior by like-minded individuals is completely unacceptable. These charges send a very strong message to that entire community that we will not tolerate violence against women in any form.”

Opinion: Obviously, I am not defending what this guy did. No!!! But this shows how stupid it is for the government to label anything a hate crime and prosecute it as a hate crime. The prosecutor in this case is in his self guilty, from a moral perspective if not a legal perspective, of a crime. He hates incels and has grossly overcharged the case. And a reminder, the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution is being gutted by both the left and the right. From hate crime laws, to reversing Roe v. Wade, to trying to force employers to force their employees to get an untested vaccine, the Fourteenth Amendment to our Constitution is being gutted.

And let me repeat, I am not defending what this guy did. But the elite and social media treating men, especially white men like second class citizen, is part of what has fed this movement of self-avowed celibate men. And contrary to what the idiot prosecutor says, overcharging this case does not send a message to discourage this man’s unacceptable behavior but simply makes the point of why these young men are so fucking angry against those they perceive as their enemy. It doesn’t help the situation but makes the situation worse, which I suspect is actual agenda of the prosecutor so he can lock even more young white men up … and have all the Karens to himself. LOL

Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters cancels concerts in Poland over backlash to views on Russia’s war in Ukraine

Waters was initially planning to perform two concerts at the Tauron Arena in Krakowin in April, but an arena official confirmed the events have been scrapped.

“Roger Waters’ manager decided to withdraw … without giving any reason,” Tauron Arena Krakow’s Lukasz Pytko said Saturday, according to Polish media.

City council members in Krakow were expected to vote on a proposal next week to label Waters as a persona non grata. They planned to express “indignation” over his views on Russia’s war on Ukraine, which a lot of Americans and Brits share.

On 10 April 2010, a Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft operating Polish Air Force Flight 101 crashed near the Russian city of Smolensk, killing all 96 people on board. Among the victims were the president of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, and his wife, Maria, the former president of Poland in exile, Ryszard Kaczorowski, the chief of the Polish General Staff and other senior Polish military officers, the president of the National Bank of Poland, Polish Government officials, 18 members of the Polish Parliament, senior members of the Polish clergy, and relatives of victims of the Katyn massacre. The group was arriving from Warsaw to attend an event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the massacre, which took place not far from Smolensk.

The crash was blamed on fog and not a mass political assassination. Regardless, the globalist pretty much took over Poland after the crash. Before the crash Poland was working to reduce its debt and dependence on the West. After the crash Poland went back on the path to become more deeply indebted to the West.

Note:

In 2021, Russia’s estimated level of national debt reached about 17.02 percent of the GDP, ranking 12th of the countries with the lowest national debt. The United States and China, both pretty much run by the globalist, have the highest debt levels of any countries.

Countries with the Highest Debt Levels

1 United States 30.4 trillion
2 China 13 trillion
3 United Kingdom 9.02 trillion
4 France 7.32 trillion

Poland currently ranks 29th on the list.

Online bulletin board inventor Randy Suess dies at 74

Randy Suess, the creator of the software for first online public bulletin board, died on December 10th at the age of 74. He and Ward Christensen built the Computer Bulletin Board System (CBBS) in 1978 to give users a central place to float ideas, post notices and otherwise coordinate without meeting in person.

Back in the old days I operated a BBS called Rough Writers. I used TriBBS and Wildcat on a computer running OS/2. The main features of Rough Writers were file downloads, a forum for discussion, and online games. Some of the BBS’s at the time began connecting to usenet and I did not have the resources for that. But yeah, those were cool days and contrary to what you might read, some of the software was very sophisticated and very often free or shareware. TriBBS was shareware and Wildcat was commercial.

You take the original AOL. It basically was a BBS on a lot grander scale that could connect people to the internet. Before I used AOL I used the GEnie Information Service that was owned by General Electric. It was more telnet concentric and less graphic than AOL.

Anyways. RIP Randy Suess. You brought entertainment to a lot of us.

So You Are Either Being Banned or Being Paid Millions of Dollars?

So you are either being banned or being paid millions of dollars? That thought is both funny and kind of sad.

Streamers DrLupo, TimTheTatman, and Lirik are some of Twitch’s biggest stars — and they have just officially signed exclusive deals with the platform. Ben “DrLupo” Lupo, Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar, and Saqib “Lirik” Zahid have a combined 10.36 million followers on Twitch, and each regularly draws thousands of concurrent viewers.

I can not find a list of permanently banned Twitch Streamers, but I know they are out there.

For example, back in November of 2019:

Misfits Gaming’s Fortnite pro Cody “Clix” Conrod tweeted last that he received a seven-day suspension from Twitch after playing with “Zayn” on his stream.

Zayn is permanently banned from streaming on Twitch due to his evasion of a stream suspension for another offense. And a player can’t be on stream with someone else who’s banned from the platform, according to Twitch’s rules.

Obviously some of the bans are understandable. “No streamer. You should not drive while streaming a game, shaving, and playing with your dick. That is not allowed.” I just made that up. That would be funny though. And totally serious and deadly. Do not do that.

Okay, so back to the money …

The reason that Amazon’s twitch is locking down some streamers to exclusive deals and paying them big bucks is they do not want those streamers to jump ship to other platforms–“while not driving, game playing, not shaving, and not playing with their dicks.”  They seriously hated losing Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek.

Note, that as far as I know, there has been no confirmation of the exact amount that the players were paid to remain exclusive to twitch. Sources have suggested the contracts were for multi-million dollar deals.

Cool item to check out.

TMZ does hit piece against Kid Rock

Their headline is:

Kid Rock Goes on Drunken Rant About Oprah … And I Ain’t Racist!!!

The video is hardly a drunken rant though he was holding a drink in his hand and he probably was a little buzzed. The person who provided TMZ repeatedly put the sound bye in the video, “He is so racist.” That repetition is a hypnotic trick that the media loves to use. It is in fact one thing that helped create the Mega Monster that is Oprah Winfrey. Every local channel in America would do massive promotions before showing her show and created a level of repetition that no other show in America has ever enjoyed. I obviously can’t speak to all markets where her show was syndicated, but in the Atlanta Market what WSB TV did was weird. Given the mediocrity of her show and yet its massive popularity I would strongly suspect what WSB was doing was typical all across America.

The elite media went in to overdrive to create Oprah Winfrey.

That same media is doing its best to hypnotize people to dislike celebrities such as Kid Rock who support President Trump. They can build you up and when they want, they can do a pretty good job of ripping you down.

When you are watching anything that repeats, repeats, repeats turn it the fuck off. They are messing with your mind.

I tend to like TMZ and generally have not noticed their use of hypnotism so much in the past–or just haven’t been paying attention–but it was there in that piece.

And for full disclosure I do not like Oprah Winfrey and so that does bias my opinion.
I do not like when hypnotism is being used to create celebrities who are going to be used for other planned propaganda and agendas.

TMZ is syndicated by Warner Media that is now owned by AT&T.
Its creator and person still in control of creative content is Harvey Levin who has a net worth of around $15 million.

Oprah Winfrey was distributed by King World.

PG&E Fails to Have Law Holding It Liable for Billions in Wildfire Damages Thrown Out

California’s largest utility, Pacific Gas & Electric, was hosed by the courts in an effort to save its ass from liabilities in the wildfires that happened in 2017 and 2018. Most of the elite media always like to insert the phrase, “wildfires linked to PG&E’s faulty electrical power grid” but that is so freakishly misleading. Winds knock down a power line, well according to elite media, that is a failure of the power grid. Someone shoots down a power line, well, that is a failure of the power grid. Godzilla wrecks a system, well, that is a failure of the power grid.

The actual court ruling has nothing to do with the “failure of the power grid.” Rather it has to do with the law.

“The California Constitution provides that private property may be taken or damaged for a public use as long as just compensation is paid to the owner,” Montali wrote in the ruling. “This section does not mention liable parties, cost recovery, or socialization of costs. In short, the California Constitution imposes strict liability in favor of the owner of property that has been taken or damaged through a public use or purpose and does not concern itself with the rights or liabilities of (who) or what did the damage.”

PG&E failed to show a utility had “ever been denied cost recovery under this principle when they have been found prudent,” Montali added.

Pacific Gas & Electric is being held responsible for fires due to faulty equipment that many feel should have had better safety mechanisms in place. The Camp Fire in Paradise, California that burned 153 thousand acres had two separate ignition points and those ignition points suggests PG&E equipment may have caused the fires.

SpaceX SATELLITES 6/29/2019

Of the 60 launched only 3 failed to work as expected.  Communication with 3 of the satellites has been lost.  The failed satellites will eventually enter earth’s atmosphere and burn up.

The rest of the 57 satellites have been working, according to the SpaceX. Forty-five of the satellites have raised their altitudes with their onboard thrusters and have reached their final intended orbits of 342 miles up. Five of the satellites are still in the middle of raising their orbits. The other five are undergoing additional systems checks before they up their orbits. As for the remaining two satellites, SpaceX intentionally fired their onboard thrusters with the goal of crashing them into the planet’s atmosphere. There wasn’t anything wrong with those satellites — the company just wanted to test the process of taking satellites out of commission.  That process is important to accurately report to the FCC before they can receive permission to launch more satellites.   The 60 they were given permission to fire up into orbit are just the first of more than 12,000 they hope to have orbiting around earth.

Once the current 55 of the 60 satellites are in position then they will begin testing what kind of internet service those satellites will be able to provide. The problem with current satellite internet providers is that the lag prevents true speed utilization and very often leads to high customer dissatisfaction.  Many customers feel the current providers charge way too much for the lackluster service they deliver.  It is an open question to whether SpaceX or any of these companies will do any better any time in the future.

Brothel ban question divides residents in Nevada county

Opinion:

Note that this article states the claim that legal prostitution somehow increases illegal prostitution.  And there is data that illegal prostitution has been putting legal, regulated, brothels out of business.  Nineteen brothels operate in Nevada, down from 36 in the peak years of the mid-1980s.  There are some counties where brothels are legal but where none exists because illegal prostitution makes the tightly regulated business in a questionable economy difficult. Nevada was hit hard by the 2008 crash.

But the suggestion, the correlation, that somehow the legal brothels are what has increased illegal prostitution is not valid.   Also, the arguments from religious groups that all prostitution is about human trafficking is stupid. Conflating the two separate issues as though they are the same issue is stupid.  Thinking you are helping prostitutes by listening to people who hate prostitutes is upside down and crazy.  Don’t pretend you are trying to help someone when the obvious agenda is to hurt someone.
