Chapter 8

Phil Clyde sneaks up on his wife, Alice Malokey who is standing on the balcony of her Penthouse on Tybee Island out from Savannah, Georgia. It is where she goes when she wants to get away from Atlanta and Hotville.

Phil grabs her from behind and hugs her close. He places his head on her shoulder and snuggles his head next to her head. He whispers, “You knew I was sneaking up on you?”

Alice rubs the side of her face against the face of her husband. “Of course. And I smell the outlands on you so I know where you have been. Do not lie to me.”

“I went after the Legman.”

“By the order of someone or on your own?”

“Sabian Blackrock and Madison Grant didn’t exactly give me the order to break the law and go into the outlands. It was kind of a dare.”

“You are an idiot.”

“I know but I am glad I went. It was scary. The Legman caught me. He put me in a cage which is what I was trying to do to him. I was trying to cage him.”

Alice starts laughing. She breaks from her husband’s hold and turns around to look into his face. “You seriously thought you could put the Legman into a cage. I may put Sabian and Madison in a cage.” Alice kisses her husband. “Did you manage to escape or was there a deal?”

“Do you believe we are on Lucifer’s Earth right now?”

“We are on Lucifer’ Earth right now, but do not go around telling people that. They will not believe it and they will not like it. Not even the witches.”

“So what the Legman revealed to me is true?”

“I do not know what he revealed to you but that is true.”

“What people think is a conquered heaven on Pluto Viso is not really heaven?”

“Wow, he wants you to totally understand. I wonder why that is.”

“He said he doesn’t want you married to a stupid person.”

“Interesting. Did he try to pit you against me?”

“No. He wants you on his side.”

“That is interesting and scary. I don’t want the Witches Council turned against me.”

“I know. He wants me to help protect Billy Bingo.”

“I think Billy Bingo should be protected but again, that is dangerous for both of us.”

“I like the Legman but he is dangerous to us.”

“He is important to the humans and to the Earth Witches. He may be their only hope, except of course if they get help from God himself.”

“But God wants them to be stronger. He wants us to be stronger.”

“Yes, up to a point. But God also likes a balance of power. He always interjects when he thinks it is necessary, even on Lucifer’s Earth.”

“So what are we going to do?”

“My dear love, we have to walk the walk along that chalk line very carefully. I am glad you met the Legman and had a dialog with him but still this is a dangerous turn for us; especially if you start protecting Billy Bingo. How is it that you are to protect him?”

“I was in robot dog cage. I was to become Billy Bingo’s dog. The way it is now though, the AI has control of the dog cage and will contact me when it needs my help to protect Billy. I can of course enter the dog cage any time I want.”

“That is good. We probably can protect Billy without being caught. But if we are caught, the Witches Council will have a fit.”

“But you are agreed?”

“I am agreed. And I am very glad that you are not a stupid person.”

“To be honest, I wasn’t sure you would be on board with protecting Billy. I understand that Sam wants Billy dead and the Legman caged and maybe Billy also caged.”

“So going after the Legman, on some level, was to please Sam Bigalo.”

“Maybe on some level though I wasn’t exactly thinking that way. He wants General Gorgan caged and from his thinking I thought he was right. He grieves for his sleeping, former wife, Amelia. I know how much it would grieve me if that should happen to you.”

“Understand that Sam does not currently understand the true nature of this world. General Gorgan probably does. Still, he wants the keys to open and restore the God Complex of Pluto Viso.”

“But it is not the true heaven. It was always a fabrication of Belial. Right?”

“Right. But it is complicated. It is a way to gather the souls who want to go to the true heaven and may even be deserving of the true heaven. Without Belial’s fake heaven there is no gathering place on Pluto Viso. There is a duality in Belial just as there is a duality in Lucifer. There is a part of him that took great pleasure in the destroying of the fake heaven but there is another part of him that wants to be like God and to be like God he needs the fake heaven. Neither Lucifer nor Belial are Satan. Satan has no duality. He is just fucking evil and takes pleasure in evil. He is the force that most wanted the fake heaven on Pluto Viso destroyed.”

“So you are saying that even in General Gorgan wants the God Complex on Pluto Viso restored, he may still be taking orders from Belial. And the Legman knows this.”

“Sure. But the Legman may also want the God Complex restored as a place for the souls who are not yet ready to go to the true heaven. Even the fake heavens are an important gathering place to move souls toward the goodness that is inherent in the true God.”

“The Legman’s Iapetus Jr. in the Outlands is being used to help souls. I didn’t expect that.”

“But you always have to remember we are on Lucifer’s Earth and the fake heaven is Lucifer’s heaven. It is a path to God’s Earth and the true heaven but it is not the true heaven. Here on Lucifer’s earth we all tend to have a duality where we are all capable of both good and evil. We choose our own path but the temptations are always here. The Legman is more consistently on the side of God but…”

“He told me that he is conflicted.”

“His honesty with you puzzles me.”

“Me as well. On God’s Earth is good and evil and people as complicated as they are here. Are there fewer gray areas on God’s Earth?”

Alice laughs. “God’s Earth is less complicated but not as much as you might think. People are more content and less driven. Those of us who are more easily tempted to hurt people based on our emotional needs or just uncaring ways are no longer there. There are a lot fewer people capable of badness there and in need of a spanking there. The people are better there and that in itself makes it a better world. Lucifer and Belial both love to moan as they look at what their worlds are populated with and remind those who might listen, ‘Look at what we have got to work with.’”

“I wonder what it was like when we fell. What were our greater sins, our most evil deeds, that caused us to fall here into Lucifer’s Earth. Were we judged by the true God and cast here, one by one?”

“It is not that simple.”

“I understand the world is computer like. I read that God can present himself as one person or a million people. Some might be true spawns or others more like a hologram of the computer system.”

“So yes, we are judged by the system. All our deeds are there recorded in the system. There are no secrets from the system. But we are given choices by the system. We can’t relive the same life in God’s system and can not change time in God’s system, but here time can be changed. We can live the same life more than once. So there is a reason that some of us chose to come here even though this puts us much closer to the true hell, Satan’s hell.”

“So I chose to be here.”

Alice Malokey answers her husband, “We all chose to be here. It is choice among other choices.”

“Such as. What might be an alternative choice?”

“In one decision the God Complex offered me the choice to be born as a chambermaid on earth after having been Alice Malokey. Lucifer offered me a chance to continue being Alice Malokey which would have been impossible in God’s Universe since Malokey had been destroyed by the Martians.”

“So in the real world Malokey no longer exists?”

“You must not look at this world as unreal and God’s world as real. All worlds are real and in part Lucifer’s World is in fact connected to God’s world and God does have power here.”

“But Malokey can’t be restored in God’s world. It only exists in this prison, this Hades.”

“I don’t think of this as a prison.”

“So you came here by choice because you didn’t want to stop being Alice Malokey. You didn’t want to be a chambermaid. But can you leave? Isn’t this basically the Eagle’s Song, ‘Hotel California?’ Isn’t this basically the INXS song, ‘The Devil Inside?’ God’s world is the real world. It is the living world. This is the world of the dead. We have all chosen to delude ourselves into thinking we are incarnating into a living world but no, whether you want to call this world purgatory or Hades, this is the biblical world of the dead. We are dead.”

“No. By what you are trying to suggest, only the Garden of Eden was the real world and when God kicked us out of that world, we all became the living dead, and maybe we did. But I choose…”

“Our memories are so fucked with, we are so tripping on some kind of light fantastic, how do you know that you chose. How do you know that the idea of choice isn’t just to make we prisoners blame ourselves?”

“I don’t know. I just know I don’t want to fall into that sleep. I don’t want to give up on trying to make sense of it all. I don’t want to give up on being allowed into heaven; the true heaven. But I do know that hell is closer to my reach than heaven. I know that.”

Phil sees that his wife is about to cry. He grabs her and holds her tight. “It is going to be okay. I may not know who I am or from whom I was spawned; my higher self, but I know that I love you. I may not know for sure where I am or how I got here, but my love for you and our love for God will always be our compass. We will find our way out of Hades; out of purgatory.”

“The Legman might be the way or even he might be a lie.”

“I’ve considered that but I think he is real.”

Alice says, “We must protect Billy Bingo for the Legman. The Legman must not become our enemy. Except for God the Legman may be our only way out of this place, whatever this place is.”

“I agree.”
