Tragedy and as usual some people try to guess what happened or make hurtful comments that really serves no purpose.

In some of these cases the police are too quick to rule out foul play. For example, if drugs were involved which I am not saying they were but if they were, that could still be foul play.

Again, let me make clear, I have no idea what happened there and I am not guessing. But I know of situations where young adult "children" are sometimes homeless. When the parents choose to practice tough love while listening to pop psychology BS spewed by idiots in the media, they need to understand it is not a game and there are consequences. Our societie's attiutde, its indifference to homelessness in America as Preached by our government and the SOB's who control our media, is troubling.

Totally different situation, but when we lived in Chamblee there were homeless people who lived in the woods behind us. In one case there was a young man who had been staying in a halfway house back on another street off on the otherside of the woods. One day I heard our dog Smokie barking. I went to see what was happening and the young man was in the fence with our dog. The young man's eyes were glazed and he was just turning round and round. Smokey was a good dog but the odd behavior made him go into attack mode and I called him off just in time. I called the police not to get the young man trouble but to get him help. His problem was not from being on drugs but from going cold turkey without anyone taking proper care of him. Chamblee was a good community back then, regardless how the homeless situation may make it sound, and the police and city hall was there to help and not to make mountains out of mole hills. The police took him where he would be helped and not put under arrest. I am not sure the same thing would happen today.

Another time, again back in Chamblee, I found a young, homeless Mexican man laying in the creek next to our house. It was not that cold but he was suffering from exposure. At that time I had a child size pool empy up on our back porch where I had rather fancy quarters fixed for my Smokey where rain and wind could not get. I had the pool filled with old clothes that was Smokey's bed. I got the young man up on the porch and as soon as he saw Smokey's clothes he started putting them on. He was in that desperate of shape. Again I had to call the police and make sure they understood I had no complaint but to please get the dude some help. In that case they drove him to the hospital. The exposure was pretty bad where he had been down in the creek even though it was not that cold.

So what is my point?

Well, I don't want to say anything hurtful about that community where those two men died. Guessing what the situation was accomplishes nothing. Whatever the case, the past can't be undone. But when I lived in Chamblee and there were people in our back yard and in trouble I knew it. Course, I did have my faithful Smokey and these were strangers and not any adult child I had locked out.
