Newsweek Article on Steve Jobs
http://www.newsweek.com/id/176318
It is sad to think of so many things on the cusp of change. Steve Jobs represents the best of what America accomplished from the youth growing up and coming of age in the 1950's and 1960's and 1970's and 1980's. Hell, even those of us less accomplished felt we were growing up part of something big. And to some degree people like Jobs are icons to that which is all of us; we were part of something big.
I don't think an odder group of souls ever migrated to incarnate on earth at one time as was our generation. And I don't think any generation has ever created such a world as we created before or will again. But we can all feel our time passing, just as the generation before us felt their time passing and it is sad.
Will Apple survive when Steve Jobs passes???
For all our bluster in this world. For all the fun we've had with our creativity. I guess with all of us, it has been like a vacation building sandcastles on the beach of life. As the tide pulls us out into other worlds; so will our sandcastles vanish into the tides of time.
We know things are coming to an end. But F. It was damned fun to have been part of this generation of Americans.
