Since 2006, the FBI and our criminal government has operated a forum for criminals to share information. The objective of course was not to enable criminals but to catch criminals.

Similar types of operations before 9-11 may have played a part in helping known terrorist to complete their mission; but similar operations may have prevented other terrorist and criminals from future activites.

In part these government scams are to in fact use criminals to spy on law abiding citizens and then for the government to get the information from the criminals for political purposes. For example to report a politician having sex with socks but no condom on with a hired escort. Okay, prostitution is illegal but you catch my drift.

I don't really buy into the notion that it takes a thief to catch a thief. I also don't like the idea of the government leaving criminals on the street when the government could have removed them from the street before the next crime happens.

But maybe these operations are a necessary evil. I don't know.
