Myspace Music - DRM-Free - Amazon Backed Site
It is complicated.
Is it a business model that will work for everyone?
Independent Bands which draw as many listeners as "Big Labels" already are feeling screwed in the deal. They aren't being offered the same advertisement sharing deal.
Quote:
By reducing use restrictions -- and not charging subscription fees -- MySpace is betting that its 120 million members will be just fine with ads.
That is questionable as pretty much everyone who is not in the business has been programmed by the media to view most internet ads as spam. So the question is will advertisers get their money worth from placing ads with the music.
I don't really have a clue to whether what myspace is planning will work or not.
