Update: The garage, about one block north of 5th Street, houses cars for several businesses, including L.A Fitness, RBC Bank and Georgia Tech. It has 1,415 parking spaces. So far, no injuries have been reported.

Capt. Bill May of the Atlanta Fire Department said fire and police crews are just now arriving on the scene. It’s too early to tell if there were injuries and the extent of the damage, he said.

Phone calls to the L.A. Fitness at that intersection went unanswered.

The collapse of 4 stories down on one another happened at lunch time. When I saw the news item on TV, the lady being interviewed was anxious to get back to office to do head count, scared to think if any of her employees might have been in the garage.
