InBev SA shareholder voted to approved $52 billion takeover of Anheuser-Busch

InBev SA shareholders on Monday backed the company's $52 billion takeover of — a deal that would form the world's largest brewer under the name Anheuser-Busch InBev. Shareholders also approved a capital increase and share issue that would raise up to $10 billion to pay for part of the deal. That covers the existing equity bridge financing of $9.8 billion in place since the deal was announced in July.

Okay, yeah, I forgot about the deal.

Playboy gearing down for Bad Economy

Playboy Enterprise Inc. said in a regulatory filing that it will slash its payroll and reduce annual costs by $12 million as it sheds about 80 positions companywide. 25 of those are empty slots.

The company is still in good shape but they don't plan to wait until the sky is falling for repositioning. They are getting out of the DVD business. As they exit that business in stages they envision that content distribution going online. Also, the Playgirl Magazine is becoming strictly an online enterprise. They are also turning to outsourcing more of their business, including newstand sales for Playboy.

Of course they still have their cable business.

They have a $25 million dollar reserve. They have a $50 million dollar credit line at 3%.
And they have a brand that many businesses would love to have.

There is some weird shit happening with Google Stock in after hours trading 9/30/2008

Update: Comment boards from traders are saying that NASDAQ cancelled legit trades. I don't know.

Update: News reports late on Tuesday said the Nasdaq planned to cancel some late trades in Google Inc.’s shares and reset the company’s closing stock price for the day to $400.52.

The Mountain View advertising and search giant (NASDAQ: GOOG) saw its shares fall below $400 on Monday for the first time in two years. They continued to fall today, dropping $60.50, or 15.88 percent, to $320.50.

Both MarketWatch and Reuters reported that Nasdaq cited “erroneous orders” from another exchange in its decision.

Update: According to CNBC, NASDAQ is investigating erroneous trades in Google at close and shortly after close.

I don't know whether the figures or right or whether it is actually moving in those extreme numbers by the second.

If it is real, there are some major blocks of stock being sold.

The bid and ask are also doing weird.

ValueClick, Inc. (NasdaqGS: VCLK - News), a Westlake Village, California-based online marketing services company.

They have had increase in advertisers.

They have lost ebay as an advertiser.

Part of their business is built on their relationship with yahoo.

Small publishers generally do not benefit from being part of their network even though originally that was who the model was designed for.

Dishonest Blackhats in the sytem are more likely to profit than honest Whitehats. That is a potential liability in waiting.
