Amazon.com Inc. said Wednesday that its latest model of the Kindle e-reader is selling faster than any of its previous versions.

The company started taking orders for the new Kindle on July 28 and sold out of them just a few days later.

Amazon says the Kindle remains its top selling item on Amazon.com.

Zynga Hires Former MySpace CEO Owen Van Natta

Former Facebook Inc. executive and MySpace Chief Executive Owen Van Natta has been hired by Zynga Game Network Inc. as executive vice president of business operations, a Zynga spokeswoman confirmed on Friday.

The company has been in the news recently after signing lucrative deals with Facebook and Yahoo, and obtaining a reported $100 million investment from Google.

Zynga's association with Van Natta, who left News Corp.'s (NWS,NWSA) MySpace in February, was previously reported by the AllThingsD Web site.
