Note: There have been changes 10/6/2014 and I am sorry if some links are
broken or pages have been moved. Some of the links into the index page are
throwing a 403 forbidden error for no reason. Permissions are exactly the same.
I have no idea why,
except the internet companies are trying to drive me insane. :)
So I changed the internal link but for those pages the menu is not there.
I even changed the script so that rather than include the file in index it should echo the link.
That even throws a 403 error from within script, but only on certain select case statements. Just weird.

Scientists Spot Brain's 'Off' Switch for Water Intake

In their study, the researchers used MRI to scan volunteers' brains at two points -- when they were thirsty, and then after they drank as much water as they could.

"Different areas of the brain involved in emotional decision-making were activated when people drank water after becoming thirsty and [then] when study participants followed instructions to keep drinking when no longer thirsty," study author Derek Denton, a professor at the University of Melbourne, said in a university news release.

The point is that the "mad" scientist think they can help the government and the social engineers to manipulate the brain to use that turn off switch for other things--like sex or even worse, hamburgers.

I can picture people like Bloomberg coming up with a plan to hit people's brains with microBRAINwaves to trigger the off switch. A man is just about to buy a softdrink and bang, the microBRAINwave, and the person decides they don't want the drink. A john is just about to buy a prostitute and bang, the microBRAINwave, and the person decides they don't want a blowjob.

A person goes to vote for the sexy babe with the really cool handshake and bang, the microBRAINwave, and the person feels yucky about the babe and instead votes for the really ugly dude who thinks the military industrial machine is the best thing since water.

Short Article: Myley Cyrus Dealing With Death of a Pet

Miley Cyrus is dealing with the death of her dog, Floyd. Floyd was a Alaskan Klee Kai. As most of us who love our pets know, the loss of a pet sucks. It is not just about the loss of the companionship--which in itself is sucky. It is also that how we spend time with our pets helps to define at least a part our day; our life. With the death of our pet, that is gone. With the loss, a bit of us feels lost. The loss of a pet that is important in our lives feels like the end of an era. You know that time is slipping away just as your pet was there part of your life one day and then suddenly gone from your life the next day. It is a reminder of how fleeting everything else in your life is and will be as you get older.

And of course there is the very real grief that comes with any death. There is the missing and there is the wonderment. "It can't really be the end, can it?" On some level, even a person who denies belief in anything they can't prove with their five sense or science, wonders. On some level many people do sense the pet is still close. They may see their pet out of the corner of their eye. They may feel their pet next to them in bed. They may even hear their dog at the door barking for their walk. Some people wonder, is that real or is that just imagination. Then in time it fades. The pet moves on in their new world and the person moves on in their world. But there are times, even years later, people can fondly think back to the times they spent with their pet. They may even still feel their pet near and perhaps remembering them as well. That is the nature of the physical and metaphysical worlds where we comprehend our own reality in our own ways. It gives us sadness. It gives us joy.

Stock Market is Rigged
4/2/2014

That the stock market is rigged is the big discussion on the business channels this morning. Of course the discussion is largely limited to the ability of the 1% to flash trade. It does not broach the conversation regarding the fact that 1% of the population controls 40% of the nation’s wealth. With that concentration of wealth and where the wealthy are often in talks if not out and out conspiracies, how could the stock market not be rigged??

Well, it is not rigged if you avoid the stocks the 1% own. And if they suddenly start buying a stock that you own, the odds are that will increase the money in your pocket. That is if you sell before they are inclined to crash and burn the business that might be competition to a larger business that they own.

One reason that so much money from the middle class “rich” went from the stock market to the housing market was because of the perception that the stock market is rigged. The idea is that the housing/rental market is much more diverse. It is diverse in such a way that the games the superrich play is more likely to be helpful than hurtful--or so it seemed before the housing crash. In truth the government and the superrich did prop the housing market up between 2004 and 2008, making it unaffordable to a large number of families. After the 2008 crash the superrich and the government have been doing their best to re inflate the housing market, even though incomes are not increasing to provide any meaningful floor/foundation to sustain those housing prices.

So what can the middle class do to make money?

Try to stay ahead of the superrich to try to profit from their ideas and mistakes, or try to swim in a different stream from them all together. At the lower end don’t dismiss yard sales, flea markets, thrift stores, farmer markets and ebay. :) Not that I've never had much luck with that either.
